if you are selected then there is a high chance that you will see the option in your battle.net account. However, you will need a key for that and this is where the email comes in
 
I don't think I've seen a single person "CONFIRM" they have gotten an email... Give it some time? That one reddit user says it was his F&F and not a public beta key.

You won't need a key if they activate the beta in your battle.net account.
 
yeah email is the least reliable way to check for access. use the account page in your battle.net, and if you are flagged it will show up in the list of games as Diablo 3 beta.
The email can be anywhere from 4 hours to a full day late of having actual access.

If you haven't used it in a long time, or for some reason it just fails, you need to re-sync.

I've had this issue multiple times and syncing always did the trick after being puzzled for a minute or two.

don't give up yet. There will be phases. Also, there is no confirmation as to whether this is simply a preliminary phase for media. There is a distinct lack of anyone on the internet bragging that they got it.

Yeah, just was able to check and not in myself right now. I think only the media was activated - haven't seen anyone else saying they got in (that wasn't FnF already) as you mentioned.

For regular people waves will probably start rolling out later tonight or tomorrow. It's still just a bit past 4 p.m. Pacific.

Nobody knows if it's true, but so far at least nobody not in one of those two categories has said they got in and proved it. So the logical conclusion is it's Media and F&F until further notice...

It happened backward for me. I received my beta key and didn't see an option at all in my battle.net account!

Yeah, Witch Doctor is terrible in the beta. By far my least favorite class to play. :(

Some cool story spoilers from the beta, btw:

The warrior from D1 (who became D2) is named Aiden and had a kid with Adria the witch.

bwahaha I've had no issues logging in at all. Maybe it's a sign that I'm one of the chosen ones? :D

Do you see what I mean? I understand that skills can be runed for more damage or additional effects, but it seems alot like 20% more weapon damage is such a meager benefit over your free attack for the cost of 20% of your major offensive resource. The situation gets even weirder when you look at Evasive Fire, a skill that deals 135% weapon damage. That would be less than the 200% the basic attack does.

I suppose fire rate would play a huge part in that, as well as how fast active skills can be triggered.

First off the DH's basic attack regens no Hatred at all. It only regens hatred when you slot the passive "Fundamentals". I've included a screen shot with the tool tip for my basic attack, my current dps with my basic attack and the weapon I have equipped.

probably because it is. Media aren't technically F&F of blizzard I guess, but are just getting preferential treatment with the closed public beta. They would presumably produce the best stuff.

All this hate the Witch Doctor is getting is just making me want to use it more and more.

Going off topic from the beta for a bit, I have to ask if there's any point to making more than 5 characters, 1 for each class, since you can access any skill...

Low level pvp chars, hardcore chars, different build chars.
10 limit is actually quite low, because there wont be ladder resets, ability to make new accounts and singleplayer mode with unlimited char slots. So its 10 slots for next 10 years or patch that will fix it.

Has any normal, non-media person got them yet? I bet if they do start rolling out, we will see people getting in by tomorrow morning.
 
Does the barbarian's maximum fury capacity increase as he levels up? It seems like it stays static the whole game. Are there items that add + to maximum fury?
 
apparently those who are in the beta can only see upwards of 60 people currently in public games, which is far too low were access granted to the public.
 
Anyone give it run on a 2010 Macbook air yet? Got an 11incher that runs WoW good and it meets the system req. Wonder if it will run (buying it for my PC anyways but it would be cool to run it on both). Kotaku has it running on the newer mba
