No invite here either, remember the thread with the list guys, I'm like number 60 or something.

sorry mate, that list is pretty much useless.

The list pretty much is for extra keys that any gaffers get that they just want to hand out at random. I can't find the thread/post for some reason.

I'll be watching the main D3 page and the Facebook page like a hawk and if there are any patterns to key giveaways/redemptions, I'll sit there and mash refresh until I get one.

That's how I got into the SC2 beta anyway, after which I got the typical opt-in access email a couple days later.

This is assuming I don't make it in before they start any promotions.

We don't get keys. Beta access is linked to battle.net accounts via the opt-in service.
edit: putting aside promotional keys, which is only speculation anyway.

No, but assuming this follows the SC2 Beta, you will get friend invites. The point is the same.

It's not useless.

log in to your Battle.net account to see if a Diablo III beta game account was granted. Or, if you were sent a key, attempt to add it manually by going to the Add or Upgrade a Game section of the Battle.net account management page.

If it's anything same as SC2 they gave out keys in contests and later on "Hey, here's a key, invite a friend" type of deal for those who are in the beta already.

ah, I stand thoroughly corrected :)

That said, it seems like early stage of beta, the stage everybody is frothing at the mouth at, is done through battle.net

Yea early stages it's pretty much a bnet thing. In SC2 they gave a lot of keys to fan sites etc so they started making contests and just randomly gave it away. After a while they sent invite a friend keys.

I would prefer getting in sooner than later though >_> Also if non of my friends get it I also don't get in via friend invite either.

From what I gathered though they haven't sen the real batch of invites yet. Only press and handful of them to those who opted in. I'm to lazy to find the blue post but they pretty much said they will send them 9am - 6pm next day (today) pacific time.

Oh god this is killing me.

Is it just me or is ForceGamings commentary voice really annoying?
They seem to be covering the classes somewhat in-depth (judging from the first Barb video), but the voice makes me cringe.

I hear ya. It's like a mix between a tacky sportscaster chuckling at his own jokes and a lorehappy nerd.

he's probably just giddy he finally gets to play beta, in which case I don't blame him.

Granted. I actually really like his videos, but his voice can be a little too fabricated at times.

Well to be fair, he sounds like that ALL THE TIME.
I imagine him having a kind of trollface expression going on when he is talking.

Nevertheless, i'm glad that the press finally got their invites. The F&F lacked commentary and in-depth analysis which is what i have been craving for.

Somehow iam not in the beta yet :(

Where does it show up anyway? On the main account page or in the account management?
Account page where your other Blizzard games are listed (including PTR).

Shit, you guys need to calm down just a tiny bit :lol

Blizzard did forget to send my key - HOW AM I SUPOSSED TO BE CALM !!!!!!!1111111oneoneoneoelven

But in all seriousness *sniff*

I'm hoping my recent purchases of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, the Diablo Battlechest and the WarCraft III Battlechest will be enough to earn me a Diablo III beta invite.

It won't be, though. :(

Edit: I should point out that I didn't purchase the games with the intention of having them score me an invite. SC2 I snapped up because it was erroneously tagged as $49 and the manager was kind enough to honour the pricing mistake, and the Diablo and WC3 Battlechests I'd been meaning to purchase for yonks.

I wouldn't worry too much if you're not in the beta yet. They always start out with a very limited amount of invites, which gradually increases with every phase. I remember getting an invite for Wrath of the Lich King about halfway through the closed beta, which gave me enough time to experience everything. So I'm trying to keep my hopes up!

Thanks.

Not that I have any illusions regarding it actually showing up. *sniff*
Pretty much this. Ah well, at least Gears 3 released at the same time so I can take my mind off the fact that I don't have a D3 beta.

Yeah, I'd love to be in the beta and play this now, but realistically, the game is coming out in a few months anyway. The FULL game. Diablo 3 time is nigh upon us, finally. I'll be playing the shit out of it then. In the meantime I have other games to keep me busy, a few of which I need to get out of the way before D3 ships. Plus Skyrim is coming out soon, and no way in Hell will I be finished with that by the time D3 comes out. No idea how I'm going to handle that one...

But, if I do get in the beta, I'm playing it of course... :D

I doubt they actually go through accounts to see what is there.

It's the GW-system man... it recognizes everything.

- Shh... don't speak to it!
-... what's going on? Why can't I speak to this... machine?!
-It can hear us... see our every move, understand our every thought...

Except almost every single soul on this earth along side with their dog and cat also owns anywhere from 80-100% of blizzard library.............so your and my chances of getting in to beta based on product adoption/purchase is slim to none :(

/wrist

Well, if anyone does get a promo key, friend invite, etc., I'm up for a PM and invite. I almost wept openly when I saw I wasn't invited...I had even just started to play D2 again to "warm up" for D3... (before the beyond-F&F beta)

If anything my almost nonstop subscription to WoW should allow me acces to the diablo 3 beta. If my money isn't what they're after, god knows they've already got my soul.

I've nothing left to giiiiiiiive.

Hey guys, Im thinking on buying a new laptop with an Intel Core i5-2520M 2.50GHz Processor and an Intel HD 3000 graphics. 8GiB of RAM.

Do u know or have any idea if Will it be enough to run Diablo 3??

I played WoW for over 4 years, and had multiple account etc... I own the whole library except for SC1, which is somewhere in my house.

Im pretty sure I have 6 copies of Diablo 2.

Your integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics will be your bottle neck. Everything else is great.

So what's the terms and conditions for information leakage? Not that they would put anything in the beta they don't want out in the wild.

Information leakage? There is no NDA.

Edit: People have datamined information about the game through the beta client. Im sure Blizzard frowns upon it, but they let people download it without signing a NDA so I think its fair game.

People who got in get an email from Blizzard? Or do we have to login to Battle.net and check our accounts?

Sometimes both. Accounts are marked for Beta and the game will typically appear on the Accounts tab/download game clients on Battle.net.

If they are not there, an email with a key (apparently) will just have to be entered on the BNet site.

Is Tristram music still in?

Yes/No

New composer, new take on the track. The sound file can be found on youtube with ease.

(no music at work, looks legit though)

Played through beta last night as the monk (first character) and was able to defeat the last guy at level 10 in just about 3.5 hours. The only issue I had other than the servers being down was just a video card overclocking issue, which was causing my computer to lock up.

Some things noticed over the 3.5 hours:
-I amassed 7k gold
-I was able to upgrade my Blacksmith twice
-The ability to sell/disenchant items at will speeds up gameplay immensely
-I didn't really get a good idea of how the Monk should play until around level 6

If anyone has any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Are you press?

Did you get a key or did it just show up in your account? When/How did you get your key? Can you walk us through what you had to do once you were notified?

Besides the menus (which I already know about) is there anything that seems "unfinished"? What I am getting at is: Do you think the final game will be out this year?

Any stand out moments, skills, or design choices that you haven't already mentioned?
