This is a very good thing to me. Oh I want to do this build, but I have to have super special weapon, boots, and armor or it's gimped. It looks like there will be a lot of viable builds that won't be so gear dependent.syko de4d said:yeahe the item properties looks so WoW´ish. Only more Damage, Life, Crit or Defense. And no items thats looks like they made for special builds. Every Witch Item has +xx% Witch damage but i would prefer items with xx% Cold/Fire/Poisen etc. Damage.
With the items right now there are many best in slot items for almost every Build. There are not really many properties which focus on one Build.

Hatred skills now come in two flavors: Hatred Generators and Hatred Spenders. So it works a bit like the Monk now where you use some damaging skills to add hatred and some to spend.
Looks like they still have some re-working to do on the runes as of this time though...some of them now don't make sense with the updates.
Also, new DH Beta skill unlock order:
1. Impale
2. Caltrops
2. Hungering Arrow
3. Evasive Fire
4. Bola Shot
5. Rapid Fire
6. Vault
7. Chakram
8. Entangling Shot
9. Elemental Arrow
11. Grenades
12. Shadow Power
So we'll see some new powers if we can assume these get patched into beta soon.
Valnen said:Some of the skills are changed too. Fan of Knives seems to have gotten a huge buff. ForceSC2 complained that it didn't do weapon damage and now it does over 200% o_o. And I suspect impale will be one of the hardest hitting abilities in the game if it crits.
Overall the class seems much more solid now.

Depends. On average legendaries should be better just because they have fixed stats, but it is very possible to find rares that exceed them. Sets can have great pieces that go together than can outweigh either.

"Adds 131-271% more damage to Witch Doctors only"
This is from a WD ceremonial dagger, do they mean you do that much more damage to other WDs or that this bonus if only for WDs who wield the knife? Damn that's a lot.

We commonly use the term soon when referring to Blizzard releases, because we know that no matter how hard were working to reach a target, were not going to compromise and launch a game before its ready. For Diablo III, we were aiming to launch by the end of 2011. As were announcing globally today, our new target for the game is early 2012.
While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. However, this week we pulled together people from all of the teams involved with the game to decide whether we felt it would be ready before the end of December, and we grudgingly came to the conclusion that it would not. Ultimately, we feel that to deliver an awesome Diablo sequel that lives up to our expectations and yours as well, we should take a little more time and add further polish to a few different elements of the game.
The upside of todays announcement is that we will be running the beta test longer than we initially planned, which will allow us to invite more of you who have opted in.
For those taking on the Diableard challenge, we salute you -- and now fear for your well-being and personal hygiene. We hereby issue an official reprieve to all Diableard participants, including Blizzard employees, if you want to trim or otherwise manage the lower half of your face. Wed still love to see your beardly achievements, and we look forward to seeing more of your efforts as we move into 2012, but not to the detriment of your workplaces and significant others.
Thank you everyone for your support and anticipation for Diablo III. Were still moving ahead at full pace, and well be keeping you fully informed of any news and developments here at Diablo3.com, including the specific release date when the time comes, so stay tuned.

Pixel Pete said:Sad new indeed. I hope they are very generous with the beta invites.
That said, my neutral reaction is telling me the teasing and waiting over the beta has left me a bit drained, and I'm apparently not surprised in the least that it's been delayed again.
Then again, it's not later than expect into much as it's just yo-yo-ing between late 2011 and early 2012...

It's not actually official. I can't seem to find any real source for that article, or was it sleuthed from the blog site before it was pulled?
Snkfanatic said:I was hoping for this year but honestly there are so many games coming out I can deal with a early 2012 release.
