The outside environments look appealing.

The dungeons look absolutely atrocious. Fucking abominations. Feels like pre-alpha.

I'm of the opposite opinion. Not too thrilled with the outdoors, but I think the Cathedral looks great.

Game looks exactly the same as earlier, for me really crappy for today's standards.

BTW Corky, are You downsampling it?[/QUOTE]

Sorry, I went to bed, but yeah I'm downsampling it. Hopefully the AA options in retail will be good.

Is it time to panic yet in the belief that there won't be any more invites before release?!

I seriously doubt that, didn't they just initiate that 2k facebook invite project?

I have PM'd a "Kind Soul" who said I (amongst others) would be invited within a week (that was Friday the 7th) to ask if they know when the next wave might be.

I am hoping there will be one this week prior to Blizzcon, failing that there should be one after / during and there are the fb winners etc...

Screenshots that Corky posted looks better than any other screenshots I've seen

Daaaaaaaamn

Wow. So here I was, wanting to try out some performance-stuff that I didn't get to do yet in the beta... then I realized, I gave away both accounts including my own away... YAY, FUN, FUN, FUN...

Share, someone? lol
Not expecting it

Let us please know when/if he answers - I want to spare me the procedure of entering an authentication code every 25 mins :-D

outside screens look decent.... my issue is those dungeon screens seem to always have a certain over hue.

D3 feels very painterly and "cartoonish" while D2 feels very gritty and realistic.

not. a happy camper. been waiting since D1 for this game and i am afraid to play it and be disheartened after dreaming and anticipating it for so long.

He did, fast too.

Blizzcon might be throwing the schedules off but it's hopeful it will be soon (today maybe) that the next wave comes out. If not then "soon".

It's done when it's done? ;) I am OK with that though. Batman just came out so if not tonight I can play that while I wait.

.
Not realy sure I should respond to this since it is a crappy subjective discussion, but I always felt D2 looked cartoonish compared to D1.

D3 however so far seems to have a better presentation than D2 from what I have seen.

That's only the facebook thingy? Not opt-in invitations
Correct, the FB invites have been sent out today. This will be a weekly reoccurring raffle.

Opt-Ins have typically been on Mondays, but given the new contest ihavenotfuckingidea

Well, the dark mood is kinda there. Problem is that the insanely blocky and exaggerated geometry that makes up the level design just ruins it for me. :(

I agree that the geometry, reminiscent of WoW, is very "blocky" like you say, which in turn gives the game a more cartoony look. But something tells me this is not an artistic choice as it is a performance route for a wider spectrum of users.

Good to know. Looking forward to killing me that skeleton king :D.

*rubs hands together* I'm feeling lucky today! Lets see is it brings the invites!
There won't be invites today. The FB is weekly, and that weeks up, and every Opt-In invites have been on Monday.

I thought there had been like only a single opt-in invite. Does not realy seem like empirical evidence.

Well the guy who has arranged invites for some of us seemed to think it could be anytime, certainly not just on Mondays at least.

Back to back Mondays if I remember correctly. Thats enough evidence for me.

They won't do invites at the end of the week because this is a server stability stress test.

Plus BlizzCon is this weekend, who wants to be called in on a weekend to fix problems when they can just invite on Monday and fix problems during their 9-5 weekday shift?

Im an expert.

Those recent screen shots look off somehow, dunno but the game keeps geting more and more similar to WoW's "cartoony" art style and less like the initial impressions i had. Might be just me tho.

Oh, believe me, you're not the only one. We've had thread after thread devolve into discussion regarding the art style of the game. :p

Also, what did bengraven do?

While I will be buying this game day one and playing the everlasting hell out of it, literally, I have to agree with the art style critics. It definately has a WoW feel to it, and I vastly prefer the art and graphical style of Diablo II. VASTLY. However, it's not enough to stop me from putting a couple hundred hours into it, because in the end it is still Diablo III, and I have no doubt that it will play utterly fantastic. The graphics will take a huge back seat to the gameplay, and after some time it just won't matter.

But there is no denying it, the look is different than DII.
