Diablo 4 has one of the most insanely detailed Armor sets ever put in an RPG

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
And it's a fucking ARPG
Blizzard didn't need to go THIS hard on this one

Name me one rpg with better looking sets
I mean, most rpgs (or pseudo-rpgs) with triple A budget (like The Witcher 3 above). Even Baldurs Gate 3 which is also isometric has cloth/armor with this level of detail (and better textures overall as some of the textures in these pics look pixelated).

I thought The Witcher 3 had some cool armor sets. They are not as varied as Diablo IV since it's only one character we're customizing throughout the game, but still very cool and detailed IMO.

People barely bring up the bar the witcher 3 set lol. They jump straight to botw and elden ring now lol

Are those like $28 per set?
A lot of the barb pieces seen there are free I've got them and Im not even max level.

I havent played the other classes but there are only like 3 armor sets per class in the store right now and none of them are those above... so Im guessing all of these are base game armor.

I don't understand why they wasted so much effort on these character models and armors, you never even see them from this perspective. It's a top down isometric RPG viewing ants from 200 feet in the sky.

whats the point? you are going to see your character in a top down view from a distance most of the time.....

It's not like a Red Alert 2 type top down view, you can still see all the detail on your character.

Plus this game has a lot more cinematics than previous games and they incorporate camera angles like most games, so you see your character in all their glory.

Name me one rpg with better looking sets

Witcher 3. Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Forbidden West. Monster Hunter Rise. Monster Hunter World. Elden Ring.

Want me to go on?

D4 has great armor sets, but "most detailed in any rpg" is beyond hyperbole.

Camera gets really zoomed in when your in town. And usually that's where you find many players as well and they tend to check you out. I had a player stare and oogle at my pre-order bonus of my horse lol. They even emoted.

What about them? Nothing mindblowing…If you want sick looking armour play Dark Souls or Elden Ring.
Hell Elden Ring has fantastic character creation too unlike Diablo.

Yeah I'll agree with the character creation in Diablo 4. Awful hair style choices, very limiting. Hope they bring out more customization.

horse is a different story, but i dont think they emote you because of your equip.

If you zoom in the visuals look low res and the armor sets don't hold up super close either, which isn't an issue since you rarely zoom into your character or the environment with the isometric camera and all. So no, the armor sets are definitely not the new high bar as far as visual fidelity goes.

Having said that, the design are absolutely amazing, unfortunately as expected, the coolest looking sets are locked behind 25€ paywalls.

I disagree with everyone saying the best sets are locked behind paywalls. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that my wallet doesn't want to throw money at any of them because the armor you find throughout the game is just that good.

I'm even more surprised at just how quickly you start getting cool looking gear. In D3 armor was pretty bland until near the end of the game (I remember being so excited when I finally got a Voodoo Mask...). In 4, you start getting cool stuff within the first 15-20 minutes.

I also agree with everyone saying "What's the point?", but I'm glad Blizzard said fuck it and made these cool looking sets anyway because unlocking gear and transmog is fun.

My character literally looked better in Ass Odyssey…take your blinder off OP.
Also, who gives a shit what your character looks like, it's Diablo.
Also x2 glad they got you brainwashed ready to drop $19.99 on an outfit already..and we only like 24 hours in.

Case in point, screenshots from Baldurs Gate 3 character creator:
