I had plans on being a wizard first until the DH was revealed. Then I went back and forth between the two.
That lasted from two years ago until literally 9am this morning when I was clicking on both the wizard and DH over and over again, not able to decide which I wanted to play.
I finally realized I really like thigh high boots and played DH.
Though I haven't commented yet, that isn't fair. My wife is super fucking awesome and geeky and wayyyyy too good for fat bear me and I treat her like a queen.
Lets you bind whatever wherever, and it stops you from having to have 2 offensive, 2 defensive skill etcetera. Lets you choose and use whatever 6 skills you want.

I don't get it. This game is nothing new. The graphics are horribly outdated. The combat is fairly rinse & repeat? What does everyone see in this stuff. The story is riddled with cheese.
I will only concede that the scope for customisation is wider then typical but not the widest seen in these types of games. And it's not like an MMO where you can match your progression against everyone elses that you see because you're fined to you and your friends.
pretty sure it does because otherwise slow weapons would always be better

2. depends on what kind of spells they are. I'd probably guess that spells with cooldowns will see a benefit from big slow weapons.

Yes and kinda.
Your spell damage is related to your weapon damage, and the cast speed is just your attack speed. For channeled spells like ray of frost your attack speed determines how long each 'tick' is.
So higher attack speed does cause you to spend more arcane power. On the other hand, signatures are free, and there are a few options available that let you get AP back for hitting people (with signatures or with crits).
But yeah, probably a two-hander is often going to be better for wizards damage-wise, early game, than a one-hander and a shield. On the other hand, shields have great armor. And orbs always have +dmg affixes, as well as other useful affixes. Personally, I never found a two-hander that seemed worth equipping, and now that I have decent orbs I haven't found one that even does more damage per swing than my one-hander + orb. Early game I used shields and now I use orbs. Orbs are especially nice when you can start putting gems in them.
You just have to decide if it's worth it. It's not to you.
At level 20, I have the fifth armor set in that video (~6.5 hours of play). It won't take you long to look better than any other class.

Wizard has been nothing but amazing. They can aoe really well so if you're wanting to go out for gold/item runs, you should be able to solo that very easy onward. Single target is still kinda/sorta iffy but with later runes, I think that will change. And Yoshi was right about that whirlwind ability for wizard. Worthless.

I wasn't planning to play with pets but the Gargantuan is so fucking bad ass. For spells, Firebomb and Acid Cloud are amazing and have basically replaced my Poison Darts and Toads respectively.
Zombie Charger is kind of shit but Spirit Walking into enemies and throwing a rotting zombie at them along with some Acid Clouds is fun. I like the passive 20% damage reduction from poisoned enemies effect so it works nicely. I was using Locust Swarm instead but the mana cost is just too high and zombie is quicker and longer range - they usually die before the swarm has time to spread at this point in Normal mode so that effect is all but nullified outside of small scattered groups (which are easy to deal with anyways)

My wife has great timing. She interrupts my "DIABLO" day to ask me for help to watch my daughter for an hour. Just as I log off the servers go down! (now I look good for the wife, and wouldnt be able to play anyway!)

Totally called Cain dying, and Tyreal being the meteor was a bit of a shock. Only died twice so far, once on the butcher, and once at the beginning of ACT II.
Cant wait for the servers to come back up!
