Lack of a separate & permanent melee attack for most classes becomes amusing when using early WD. Throwing a jar of spiders to break open barrels, tree stumps, etc is pretty goofy. :p

Beta is online only. loloololol
At least for a beta it's not the product you're buying, it's more a mutually beneficial program: you get an early taste of the game, while the developers get to see how their servers work and what unexpected issues people are having.

I was joking. I defend TL2 from D3 fanboys all the time.

The ignorance as to why Blizzard is using online-only is getting a bit tired though.

We had this problem in the beta builds and it seems to have carried over to the retail build. For some reason, the music in Diablo 3 is extremely low compared to all other sound effects. Even when
setting music at 100, and voices / sound effects at around 30-40, the sound effects are explosive and voices booming, yet the music plays at a whisper quiet volume. I dont think this is just a problem with surround sound speaker set ups since i've tested it on a 2 speaker set up, and you can still barely hear the music in the game.

The Diablo series has always had amazing soundtracks to go along with their games, so it just strikes me as strange that the third entry has what sounds like a great soundtrack, yet you can barely hear it, no matter the volume settings.

game crashed and of course i cant get back in :|

up to act 2 now. absolutely loving my witch doctor. using darts, bats spider queen and dogs. dogs are dying far too easily now though. anyone found a nice combo yet? i'm lvl 18 i think.

Alright thanks to the guest pass I was given by KarmaCow, i have played more of this game than I did in beta and I fucking love it lol. I never tried Barb in beta, but I started the game as one and I love this class. Bought it and I am totally all in now. God damn blizzard and their highly addictive games.

Level 13 and two more are Lv 14.

Those guys are just killing everything while I sit back dying lol

I dunno

Are you using diamond skin? That'll take care of the dying part.

Try the passive skill that gives you arcane points for picking up orbs then equip stuff that increases the health you get from orbs so you can spam orb and tornado

I just died.

But, as a person who just had there first 15 minutes ever of Diablo I think its great so far.
On a pass now but swinging by Best Buy tommorow to get a box copy, I see me having a blast with this game.

Funny thign tho, I was just on thinking "how the fuck do I get magic missles and electic defense at the same time? figured I couldnt
I was actually kinda pissy about it till I came here and just read the post above about elective mode.

Now I wanna log back in so bad and try it!

Cant wait to try mutiplayer eithier. My buddy who was a long time Diablo player gave me a pass but found out tonight his vid card isnt supported. So I'll be playing solo till next month I guess.
I honestly dont knwo how the online works anyways and kinda feel like I might screw up people who are past players. I figure a week or two of single player might might be good before I hop online to team up.

Yeah, I'm very underwhelmed by my time with D3. My ping is 280ms, which is just fucking stupid. I understand that kind of latency when I was playing co-op, but I fiddled around for 45 minutes on my own and it just felt like trash.

The OP needs to be updated with the following:

Diablo 3 is not a single player game, it is a multiplayer game that you can play solo.

Why didn't they make an offline mode that is purely offline? As in, when you create an offline character, you cant connect to the auction house, play with buddies, etc?

And if you go to online mode, you can transfer that character to offline mode, but not vice versa.

That way, if you are on a trip, you can play another class and level up there, then when you're back home and have internet, continue playing your online class?

Out of curiosity, why is this game 15gb? That's like nearly twice the size of skyrim o_O.

I see a bunch of tile repeats all over the place.

Is there a bunch of 1080p cinematics or other stuff around?

Well at least Ubisoft wised up and made their DRM online connection at startup only.

Yes, I just hate that now, even after logging in, every time the game lags a little my heart skips a beat and I think that it'll just logout again :\

Error 37. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I had it d/c me earlier, and I logged right back in, but I lost like 10 minutes of play time, and it restored to a different version of the map I was on. Ugh. Lost such a fucking awesome rare weapon, and bad ass ring.

I'm guessing now I'll be rewinded again, and who knows how fuck far this time.

The TL2 open beta is to test server load.

It lasts for a month.

The Blizzard D3 open beta weekend was a PR event, despite what their PR mouthpieces were saying.

Your point? This is a retail release we are unable to play right now. If this were EA people would be losing their shit.
