You are fucking crazy posting endgame spoilers in an OT topic. TWICE! How ignorant are you? What's so hard about NOT spoiling it? The endboss could've been anything, sure, there was a high chance that it turned out like I now know THANKS to you, YET there was a chance that it could've been anything. And you are even repeating it. Sorry, but you just suck. Stop it now.

Anything, just found my first legendary item:

I have to say that I enjoy the game but there is a lot of stuff I don't like:

- the character models are abysmal. They look like shit. Art and tech wise.
- I still don't like the art very much. There are some nice things here and there and the atmosphere is diablo-esque in a way (mainly because of sound, story and quests) but it could've been so much better
- I don't feel very invested in my character, because I know I can change his skills pretty much anytime. I don't find it too exciting either (Barbarian). I would've far more enjoyed a possiblity to level your skills (I don't think the rune system is a great addition)
- the game feels way too streamlined. It almost feels a bit...shhh...dare I say....casual. :/

Personally don't mind the art, love the feel it gives and Blizzard tends to program for multiple configuration. Personally it works for me. However I would of preferred a more complicated tech tree where your choices really matter and multiple playthroughs are necessary to see all the spells and techniques. Otherwise really enjoying the game!

I mind the art only insofar as it reminds me too much of Torchlight. The look isn't unique any more, but I guess it's the Blizzard and since they did it first it's their look now. It can also be very difficult to read the screen, especially with the WD and his creatures.

something I was thinking about regarding the RMAH...

Blizzard already gets a cut on things sold on RMAH but if they start to see a trend that certain items are selling for a crap ton (OR NOT) they could stealth adjust the drop rates in game , therefore skewing it so they see more sales posted thus obtaining money for them in the long run?

Does no one see the irony of him posting a spoilery pic while making that point?

Fortunately for you no one is insulted. However, they are upset that you spoiled a portion of the game. Even though we who were spoiled should have been more intelligent and figured this out for ourselves, you can never assume intelligence.

I don't care either way but you do realize the person you're insulting didn't even post the screen you're mad about so he literally spoiled nothing.

doesn't the changes tooltip tell you if you gain or loose damage?

Sorry, forgot to mention that the reason I asked was because I was going through the auction house without trying to say, buy an item that costs a ridiculous amount of money to see if it'd make a difference.

so the auction house I just stright buy or I have to bid for items? and does anyone know/have a good build strategy for a Demon Hunter?

Yeah, you can purchase items straight up as long as the seller has that option

God, I should've never left my life-stealing ideas :(

Yeah, I've never been a fan of D3's art direction. Reminds me too much of WoW and I didn't like that either. Also, the blurry look is pretty lame.

I still like the game, but visually its not very good.

Btw, did anybody ever had a partner that picks everything up and sells them? My cousin does that and it's so annoying because we always need to go back to town >_<

Really messes up the flow of the game you know?

Anyone up for a
Belial
run on Nightmare/NA server?

My God, either it was just the person I was just playing with, or DHs are just nuts. It's like they're one-shooting entire groups of enemies.

In normal, yes. In nightmare....uggggggggggggg

Elemental Arrow + Lightning rune = insta-mob-death in normal though.

I always just keep going because, you know, you can just click your buddy's flag to get back to them.

oh ic. that is a problem, blizz needs to allow us to compare items through the AH

It's still 2-3 shots for my DH in nightmare. :p

Post your build please ;_;

I'm over 1500 dps and I'm struggling pretty hard. I mean, it's not impossible by any means (except some vampiric champion mobs...FML) but it's not pleasant compared to some of the melee builds I've co-opped with.

Nightmare. It took the guy seconds to slaughter entire mobs in Act 2. I was just standing there as a WD with my lousy 1.2k DPS and couldn't believe how fast it was over, made me rethink my entire build. I really need to spend some time tomorrow working on my build, somehow it's not cutting it.

I want to know what he was doing. I've co-opped with a couple other DH's, and every one of them were just as squishy as I was.

It's not only the art, it's the tech as well. It just looks dated. And yeah, the WOW look is very noticable. Sure Blizz won't come out to say "we did this to appeal to WOW crowd" but I think that's just what it is. It's certainly not the diablo style we saw in 1 or 2...whatever, I don't think we need this discussion again.

Some of the enviroments are pretty nice anyway. It's just the character models which are so horrible. And thinking about that I play the char which is probably the closest to D1 and D2 (Barb). Just thinking about the Demon Hunter Emo with his scarfs... o.O Psss...

Best use for the AH in my experience is definitely snagging +gold find and +magic find items.

You boost those up to a good amount and you start picking up lots of gold for later use and more rare drops from regular mobs and chests even early on in Normal. Also keeps things from being cheap and silly with you just buying up high-powered rares for nothing and trivializing loot drops, as well as making things easier than they already are. :p

Not to mention those Fortune Shrines start to become mighty attractive and useful when you have high Magic Find/Gold Find, since it boosts them by percentages.

Diablo 2 looked like ass when it first came out and that didn't stop me from playing it for damn near a decade. I kind of get the complaints about 3's visuals but, come on, it ain't even gonna matter in the long haul of this game's life.

I've been looking at screenshots and DIII looks like the epitome of a game that looks "good enough".

I get that Blizzard wants their games to run on just about anyone's system, and I think what they have here is a very good balance between tech and art design. That game looks just good enough to properly portray its art style.

Anyone have any tips on how to sell stuff in the auction house?

I found a rare (yellow) polearm (called a Line Deed) that my class can't even use, so I figure I'll unload it, but searching for the name of the item itself didn't produce any results (unless I'm doing it wrong), and filtering within the criteria (rare polearms with similar levels) gives me pages and pages of items that I can't easily filter to know what my item is selling for.

Any rule of thumb for how to value it, or guides to in-game item values?

Any chance of there ever being a trial for this game?
The beta was converted into the Starter Edition. You can download it through Battle.net, play it and if you like it can just enter the CD key after purchase and keep all your progress.

That's basically my build, except swap impale for elemental arrow/ball lightning.

Elites still are tough, but regular mobs die really easily to the BALL LIGHTNING

Yeah, it's elites and champions I'm having trouble with. Bosses as well, but for other reasons.
Belial in particular is a garbage fight. No room to maneuver, and such innacurate movement that you're going to get hit by the meteors pretty much guaranteed.

So I did the AH thing.

Damage went from 40-90, and I made money already selling my old stuff.

Gonna go with exactly what was said. Use it to find cheap Gold/Magic find items, profit. Though I'm doing pretty well as it is. 30k and I just started act 2.

Oh. They should promote that more heavily. I didn't see it anywhere on the front page of the DIII website, whereas StarCraft II promotes its demo front-and-center.

DH is all about slowing your enemies down so you can rain on them while using evasive skills. enemies really shouldnt ever get that close

The game is absolutely beautiful. You can't really tell from screenshots. Once you see things animating fluidly at 60fps, spell effects and all, it really comes together.

You cannot freely download the starter edition yet. You need to get a key from someone (every purchase gets a couple to give out).

After a month, they'll open it up to everyone. For now, it's a matter of keeping server load as low as possible.

Easier said than done for sure. On nightmare+ anyway. Normal was cake.

I've had my game set to public, sitting in front of
Belial
for a while now, and no one has joined. Do I need to open ports or something?
