Tried to ask before but noone said anything.

Is there any reason NOT to bring a follower all the time? The templar barely does anything but him randomly spouting off shit is enough for me to bring him.

Does he take a portion of my gold or anything?

They don't take anything

I bring the sorceress with me since she has some stun abilities. Don't count on the followers to do any damage

Help me GAF my shitty DPS needs a jump.

I have a DD copy and thought the cut scenes looked great... are my eyes deceiving me?

Maybe it's a driver issue for some people or something
Yeah mine is DD and I thought the cg was jaw dropping. I have a 24" monitor at 1080. People comparing it to 240p YouTube videos have to have something wrong. There's just no way unless they're exaggerating way over the top.

Honestly I'd say the we're the prettiest cinematics I've ever seen. I remember thinking "goddamn that candle looks so real" in the scene with Leah lol

I have a digital copy, and other than a particular scene of the intro cinematic(i think its the part with the animated 2d angels flying?), i didnt notice anything really badly pixelated.

Note that i only saw the intro and cinematic between Act I and II.

Can they patch it and modify how the AH works without causing major backlash?

I wonder what Blizzard could do to "fix it", if needed, in the future.

I was thinking about this. One relatively simple, albeit inelegant fix, would be to set a minumum sale price on all gear. Say 75% of what equivalent gear would cost if you could buy it from a merchant.

Yah, that one looked a bit compressed to me too, but everything else I've seen has looked flawless.

Far and away my biggest concern as well. The hunt for items becomes no more than a gold hunt so you can buy it =/ (or rmah..)

It really takes the whole appeal out of the game, doesnt it? It gets even worse when you can buy that shit for real money. Blizz sabotaged their own games for ze monies. :(

Anyone feel that the death penalty should be more severe?

Watching these streams proves that dying is no big deal, they just respawn at checkpoint, or TP to town, repair, then TP to the banner of anyone in the group.

Leave my noobie mode alone. The experts can tackle hardcore.

I'm really curious if anyone complaining about the AH has played hell difficulty and beyond? This wanton speculation seems a bit premature for a game barely 72 hours old by people who haven't even seen the latter half of the difficulty curve, pvp, etc.

Maybe wait a few weeks and difficulty levels before busting out our Jump To Conclusion mat?

I agree but you know, GAFers gonna GAF.

Which becomes breaking out your credit card in a few days.

Yeah, edited my post to include the RMAH, which opens a whole new can of worms.

Well I'm not jumping the gun, I do want to see how it plays out.

I'm not even buying anything from there on my first playthrough, it just feels wrong.

Just for comparison for anyone with the boxed copy the cutscene file for the download is 1.48 gigs.

(Game Folder\Diablo III\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\enUS_Cutscene.mpq)

That's for the US english version obvious.

I am thinking the people at Blizzard don't suck at maths, and they are big enough to have at least a few people there who specialize in online game economies. Assuming they have figured out about how many people are going to be doing inferno runs, I would expect that drop rates for the rarest of the rare gear is tuned appropriately. Now, that said, it is going to make things somewhat easier, since trading the ultra-rare gear will now be a lot simpler.

I expect inferno is tuned such that the majority of players will never complete it. There will be a first tier of people able to do it without grinding gear, and lot more that need to buy some inferno gear before they can make real progress on that difficulty level. Eventually, things will probably saturate, but at the top level it's going to take significantly longer than normal/nightmare levels, which are going to get played by a majority of players.

Also, it's possible that they didn't get the tuning correct. They have a vested interest in keeping the economy somewhat robust, as without it they don't get RMAH revenue.

Yes, overall grind time is probably going to be less than D2, but it's pretty tough to argue that's a negative, since getting lvl 99 on a D2 character did not really provide a meaningful gameplay experience (unless you just really really like grinding...).

Also of note, is that there's always hardcore, which has a totally separate economy, and will probably never saturate at high levels.

Question for people stacking MF:

How? I haven't see a single item with MF higher than like the high teens, and that itself is pretty uncommon. Do you finally start to see decent numbers in hell/inferno?

Lvl. 56, as long as nothing touches me I am fine, but coop makes it harder with enemies using projectiles and lag :/

It's not speculation, just common sense.

One of the biggest factors of replayability was farming areas for loot, and being hosed by random number generators when the items have bad stats. Here you can just bypass that and find the exact stuff you need on the AH.

normal or nightmare ?

Hell act1

I've had shitty luck with loot drops so now it's AH and MF time if I want to advance in Hell.

Besides, trading is a huge part of the game. With the AH you don't need to join a W:MF GEAR H:RUNES games and try to banter your way through to gear.

What's the function for each attribute?
Strength
Dex
Intel
Vit

STR - +1% Damage per point for Barbs, +1 Armor per point for all classes.
DEX - +1% Damage per point for DH and Monks, +0.1% Dodge per point for all classes.
INT - +1% Damage per point for Wizard and WD, +0.1% Resists per point for all classes.
VIT - +10 HP per point for all classes.

Method is cheesing their way through by skipping everything they can. Act bosses are choreographed and they kill them by rez-zerging.

Well, looks like they are back in Act I farming champion packs. So I guess they realised they could not beat inferno that way.

It's dumb because even on Inferno the death penalty is inconsequential. That's why those Method guys are able to basically die their way through it so handily.

Oh yeah. Maybe implemented they could implement a timed max health penalty for each death on the higher difficulties.

Agreed about death penalty weaksauceness. Should be 30% dur hit perm and 20% stat reduction for 10 minutes. So annoying but not game-stopping.

Or do a Fable and make a permanent negative cosmetic effect. Or char stat you cant escape.
