People have been arguing if people with authenticators were safe. If it's not the case, it's not just a matter of cracked passwords.
A generic 800dps xbow with 100 vit and 100 dex should be like 400k tops.
Gold comes from farming inferno uniques, getting them to 5% hp, then dropping in 2-3 people with 200% mf. Or lower level people running Act 1 crap in mf gear.

At least you can kill things by chaining your 18 seconds of invulnerability :/However they're getting it, they make my 1.something million gold seem paltry by comparison.
If I spent 400k to get a better bow, then 400k to get a better helm...my gold would be gone lol. I'm not sure it's a good strategy, since I'd still get two or three shot anyway. I'm starting to think that DH's are good for sending lighting balls through mobs, marking bosses for death, and little else (once you hit Inferno).
pretty sad that BK is now some shitty +random stats ring compared to the glorious +1 all skills from d2. Same deal with every other unique in the game
I'm still pissed about this.
Spill itHey Opiate...remember when I was talking about testing out rapid attacks and status procs on hit a while back? Things have taken a turn for the...interesting.
You have to remember that even LoD itemization was saved by dupes post 1.10 (and still sucked). The best itemization balance the game has ever seen was the time between 1.09 and 1.10. Fuck farming high runes being the only shit worth anythingIt would have been complete hell without dupes, there would be like 3 or 4 enigmas TOTAL per ladder season.
It shouldn't be THAT hard to fix, but it will take some dedication to it on their part and also working a bit faster than they usually do.
First of all, they need a ladder. Items need to get reset every ladder and characters go out to non-ladder, gives more replayability too.
Second, they need to give white items more purpose, adding runewords that are restrained might also be nice, though this is more of an expansion thing. They have this whole gradation of white items that means.... what exactly? They should add an imbuing quest like D2 always had, doable once per difficulty.
Third and most obviously, buff legendaries and buff the more interesting mods, like % to freeze, % to diminish CC, and so on. Bigger more important versions of the cool mods. It seems like they're too worried about balance which is a WoW like mindset.

One of the developers mentioned at one point that they dropped the colored runes since they made people think there was a connection/theme of some sort between runes of the same color, when that wasn't always the case. Personally, I think ditching the old graphics/colors was a pretty big mistake, as the current runes are completely illegible. I have fuck all idea what rune I'm looking at just from the shape and lines. Besides just being bad in general, you can't interpret them from just a quick glance, even if you did know what each one was - you'd have to spend time processing it. Really poor design choice there. I was pissed off when it changed in beta, and still angry about it now.

Well i may be done with this game, just logged on to find that i have no gold no items. Wow is all i can say fuck this game.
No offense, but that is crazy talk. My demon hunter is on 3rd boss of act 4 in inferno, mostly through solo kills. I grouped a bit with friends, but more to help them out than for need. I'm running around act 4 with 38k and destroying most of what I run into already. The fact that I am almost done with inferno and it hasn't even been a week makes me rather sad. Was looking forward to a challenge.
Ah, they said that? I remember them saying a long time ago, something similar about changing the names from multistrike/power/etc rune names to generic ones like obsidian/alabaster because they all didn't do the same thing in every skill. I agreed with that choice; it made sense.
I can see the argument they are making for dropping the colored graphics as well, but it doesn't hold up at all, IMO, since the generic squiggly lines are terrible to differentiate.
I really hope they fix the item system, but I'm concerned with the launch of the rmah it won't happen.
Do you solo champ mobs? If so, I'd love to see your character. I have absolutely no issue getting through regular mobs, and bosses are doable (figure out the pattern, exploit it, etc. A tale as old as video games.) but the champs/elites are ridiculous. Invulnerability plus vortex plus wall, plus extra speed? How am I supposed to do anything against that?
Really? I feel the exact opposite. Maybe it's just lag, but it usually seems like a major issue to me, along with attack animations lining up properly with the hit. I also have a huge issue with the cursor. It doesn't stand out at all, and I often find that it makes things more difficult than they should be.Hitboxes are very well done in this game. That's probably a huge part of why this is so much more fluid than other ARPGs I've played recently. I don't have to use shift almost ever.
This was me five minutes ago:
"Well, I solo'd theon Inferno with my DH, and now I clearly need +vita and +dex items. Let's go to the auction house."Spider Queen
"Sort by...Vita, Dex, *Click*"
"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
There are no affordable Vita/Dex items that I can find. Not at the Inferno level anyway. Did you farm all of your stuff?
I can't afford the items I need to make my character Inferno viable now. I don't even want to think about what happens when the RMAH comes out. I'm not spending money on it, so I may just be pushed out of competition, for PVP even (which really burns me).
Farming has proven unsuccessful thus far.
Can you give an item to a friend and how?
Throw it on the ground in front of him.Can you give an item to a friend and how?
I get it quite well, the difference is that I'm not talking about the vast majority of goods, most of which contain only 3 or 4 random magic attributes, or contain a combination of attributes that are shit for the class you're trying to use them on.
I'm talking about, you know, endgame items. i.e. the items that people will actually care about once they reach max level.
Another factor is that there is almost certainly a hard upper bound on the number of items that can be supported by the server. Databases don't have infinite storage you know, and even a table with a few million rows in a database can get difficult to manage. And here we're probably talking about a few hundred million. The amount of items being generated is approaching pretty obscene numbers, and they will almost certainly take aggressive measures to curb the item growth rate if for no other reason than the fact that large numbers of items translates directly to a financial liability. Whether that means more incentive to vendor items, or some legendary crafting items with actual good stats to get people salvaging more, or any number of other measures, the bottom line is it's going to happen whether you believe it or not.
What are you 30s 40s DH using as your Hatred dump? I'm using Elemental Arrow with Lightning, but I'm curious.
Yep, I can do a couple of the act 3 inferno bosses with 5 stacks of the buff pretty easy. Act 4 champ packs are harder depending on the mobs, but I have killed a few of them. The only affix that makes me skip a champ pack is invulnerability or if they are innately fast mobs with the fast affix on top of that. Kiting makes most of em easy, you can even out range mortars as long as you keep moving while shooting. The key is to find champ packs that are made up of slow mobs. Act 3 is perfect for that since alot of the mobs in the field are innately slow, making for easy kiting.
Nah, most of it I got on the AH from people who put low buyouts because their class doesnt need it, so they figure "meh, whatever" and toss some great yellow or blue item with dex and vit for cheap. Put a low buyout cap on your searches, then set level 60-60 level range and you will be surprised what you can find.
That was days ago though, I started buying my stuff for 60 when I was like leve; 51. That well may have dried up by now if people have realized what these items are worth. Even my 2H crossbow is something like 800 dps, I bought it at like 5k lol.
Inferno runs. Just jump into a public game and hope you get folks that really want to advance. I just finished the SK in act 1. With 5 stacks of the Neph buff we were overturning every corpse, opening every chest and shooting every vase because the gold dropped and magic items dropped were insane. That buff is truly ridiculous.

I'm getting adds on gaf now for Diablo 3 gold...
anyone else checked them out? I'm curious just how dodgy they are lol, i'm at work so don't want to risk it.

Obvious solution is ladders. Or even, player created leagues a la Path of Exile, and the players in these leagues can only use the AH to buy and sell to fellow league players.
Another idea is BoE.
Finally, obviously buff legendaries and set items and give some of them guaranteed rare mods that are very good (a la Buriza or Windforce in D2). Getting perfect legendaries and set items of this type will be huge.
Could you post your build? I'd like to see it. Did you farm your own equipment, or pay for it on the AH? Even at 11k DPS I can't generate the DPS to really take down any but the slowest champ mobs, so I'd love to know how you're doing it. Traps + Caltrops?

I'm so afraid to play on hardcore because I've had lag kill my character on normal. Imagine playing a character for 20 hours and then the game lagging and it's over. Ugh.

I think the problem will reverse over time. Someone pointed out that since you can only have 10 auctions at a time, low level auctions will be much less attractive as the game matures since they will tie up a slot with a lower priced item. Higher level items will start to become too abundant, at which point we can hope for a ladder resetJust beat the game on normal, hardcore. The auction house pretty much broke the game; I never had any trouble at all overpowering myself with the AH, and the whole game was very easy. I'm sure that what's going on with the AH is that it essentially functions as a hand-me-down system for higher level characters to dump items to lower level characters. The problem is it means that you pretty much never find worthwhile items on your own, making the item hunt seem boring. Im not sure how they can fix this.. but at least I think it will go away at end game, when there are no higher level characters.
Other two main problems I had with the game were
-chat is eons below what we already had in DII. Makes the game feel way less social.
-vit+main class stat seem by far the most important stats on items. Everything else just feels like irrelevant filler. Doesnt feel balanced properly.
