I am very curious about this arcade game that hasn't been ported in any sense and I would like to know your opinions about how it was. Recently I have been curious about the Namco arcade games from the begin of the 90s that certainly pushed the company a lot.

Here are some screenshots of the monster cabinet. I certainly have played Ridge Racer Full Scale on my local arcade (it's still the most expensive machine here in Barcelona with 2€ per play) but I swear I have never seen Zolgear anywhere. I discovered the game long time ago when I saw the ad in Ridge Racer 1 but since then I have never seen it anywhere.

Not what you're looking for, but I played the PS1 port at least. And it was a piece of crap.

Was it ported to PS1 ? Wow...Gamefaqs failed me this time...

Well, the title is "Galaxian3" (cubed, don't know how to do a tiny three), with "Zolgear" in the subtitle. Galaxian3 part one is on PS1, but from what I can see on that page they're not wildly different.

And what kind of game is ? Like a rail shooter ? I have only seen two images but I liked what I saw.

Yeah, it's a rail shooter. Actually, it's an FMV game rail shooter, on several screens. In the PS1 port, you can see the line where they fused two FMVs together extremely clearly.

It's not bad as an idea, you know? Rail shooters are fine. It's just that due to it's FMV nature, the feeling of interaction is just about zero. IIRC, you can keep shooting at stuff and still not get the feeling that you're hitting anything at all.

Yeah... The cabinet does look really cool, doesn't it? Too bad it also looks like it cost like a million dollars, meaning it's probably extremely hard to find.
