Lots of arguments happened, lots of things were said. It's clear that Microsoft isn't going to back down. Did you cancel your gamepass subscription? I have 3 days left on my pc gamepass sub and I'm starting to get a bit anxious, I need some support.

No, Im locked in at $11 month price until 2027. Use the Essential to Ultimate conversion method. Final effective Ultimate price can be $15-$17 month.

Btw, PC Gamepass is marked for death.

Saw a bunch of retards getting excited for 12 months of game pass ultimate for $210, on another site.

That's how low people's standards are, and why companies do this shit.

Nope. But thats onlybbecause im loaded till mid 2027 with old price (even cheaper with conversion). So yeah....so far im in but theres no way i pay current price for it.

I ain't a regular subscriber - I only sub when there's actually something worth booting up. Cleared Ninja Gaiden 4, Keeper, and TOW2, canceled the sub right after… and MS straight up refunded the whole month. Peak gamer efficiency. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Games on PC key sites are so cheap that I can't even imagine anyone being willing to pay that much for a subscription and own nothing. For the same price, you could buy 50+ quality games on GOG and own them forever.

I wouldn't doubt it if there were truth to those stupid Rocket Money commercials where the average person has like 15-20 subscription services.

People suck with money management, and don't seem to care that the value proposition for most things suck.

Nope, I stacked up somewhat cheap til 2027.

I enjoy it. I can jump in day 1 but pay as if I'm stepping in during a late sale.

Once I have to pay standard price I'm out. Or if the games output goes down.

Yes... been a subscriber to pc gamepass since 2020 but the price and content was not justifiable anymore for me. I was paying something I barely used.

Yep. I only use it a few times a year as is when a big release or something interesting hits, and the new price is beyond that negligble point for me.

I sure did cancel my sub. That lasted one month until Outer Worlds 2 launched. I feel like an addict that just relapsed and nearly has overdosed. It's not good.

You mean another price hike or straight stopping the service entirely?

Would not be surprised. I guess they will only offer the more expensive tier or fewer games tier to try and get more revenue.

The good thing about Game Pass is that you don't have to commit to a yearly sub. You can just cancel and resub for a month or two when you have more time to play a bunch of recent games. Plus it's still possible to find cheaper offers through key sites.

Sony raising prices for PS+ left people with more difficult decisions imo.

I did cancel to send an F U but then I got a year from loaded.com for better than half price at like 116.99 for the year.

Basically outer worlds 2, NG4 and keeper tipped me over the edge.

Aong time ago. If I were to sub to another service it would be PS+. Hundreds more games than what is on offer with GP.

For new AAA releases, I just buy outright. Because THAT is how you keep the industry healthy.

I still purchased in Steam even with GP. Also due to the dog shit MS Xbox app.

Before the official announcement, like 10 hours before, a thread was posted in which an Anonymous source sent info to Resetera Mod. They mentioned PC Gamepass tier going away in 2026, along with a free xCloud tier with Ads.

So after the announcement, PC Gamepass tier is de-emphasized for new signups. They also stopped mentioning it in the Coming Soon to Gamepass infographic that they post on their Xbox wire blog post every two weeks.

So what's likely to happen is that sometime middle of 2026, probably around May is when they get the bad news out of the way before June showcase, they will stop allowing any new signups to PC Gamepass tier.

They will do what they did with Gamepass Console $11 tier users before Standard was introduced. As long as they have Recurring Billing ON, they get to keep that tier, but soon as they stop, they can never rejoin. That way they won't piss off the recurring subscribed userbase.

Premium is meant to be the replacement once it has parity with the PC catalog minus Day 1 Games. And only Ultimate will have Day 1 Games plus EA, Ubisoft, and FortNite benefits. Premium gets the Day 1 games within 365 days.

So three universal tiers across the full Ecosystem. Then in November 2026, for the Xbox 25th anniversary, is likely when they may announce the online paywall going away for next gen Magnus hardware. They should also have the Xbox Mobile Store on Android up by June, if the judge approves Google/Epic settlement. And mobile would be added to the three main Gamepass tiers.

Yes, I fully cancelled it. Had ultimate since 2020 ish & didn't mind when it was £10/£15.
Slapping it up to £22.99 takes the urine. The only "new" games I ever played it on were Halo Infinite & Cod BO 6 for a few hours - Everything else was older games (Fallout 4) I could have got much cheaper anyway

Rather save the cash now and buy games when I want than be ripped off.

I feel like this is going to lead to even more people ignoring the sub after they get a massive price hike. Console players are in a worse position, but on PC it's very easy to get cheap copies of actual games from various key sites (or free games from Epic and various bundles). Not to mention there's still piracy. So yeah, a lot more alternatives on PC to paying for Game Pass.

Yes, I was like fuck you MS, we're done! Felt good unsubscribing. Then I went to a couple of local game stores looking for good deals. My plan was to buy games I want rather than playing for a subscription.

I quickly realised that even used games go for $80-$100 in Australia. Fuck That.

Then Outer Worlds 2 dropped and I came crawling back. For now it's still Better value (personally) to be subbed to a service and then buy games here and there I have to have or are on a deep sale.

PC gamepass isn't as bad. You should take it month to month. Is there something on it you want to be playing for the next month? Is there something not on gamepass that you want to play instead? Let it lapse if you can then build up a backlog and jump back in.
I stacked for a while but canceled any reup and will be considering PC gamepass or no gamepass in the future. I have a son who likes minecraft but we also have a switch so I may just mover it over there. MS made a simple choice for me into a harder one because now it makes sense to not stay subbed due to lower overall value.

Fallout 4 remaster not being included is a giant fuck you to me. It is pathetic and I am not even interested in playing it.

I'm paid up until 2028, grabbed another year as soon as the price rise was announced..

Not yet. The only reason I own an Xbox is because I already had GP on PC and wanted to play on my old plasma TV. If they end up killing it then I'll just go back to the PC tier and find something else for the TV.

I spend more on streaming services than GP anyway. It's a drop in the bucket.

Did ye, aye? Retards, aye? 🙄

3 months left. Won't pay full price but if you can still get a month for a tenner on CD Keys (like you can right now), I'll probably keep it going. Failing that, I'll just drop to premium and pay for that with reward points.

It expired after 3 years that I bought for 80$ 4 years ago. Wasn't even worth the 80$, if you ask me.
I had bought it much cheaper, but even if I had paid 80 dollars, I wouldn't have regretted it. It let me play some good games on day one over the last three years. But with the new pricing policy and the old purchase/convert methods no longer working, it's time to part ways. I'm sorry. I just hope it at least stays like this so I can subscribe again for a few months from time to time. Considering they still don't offer an annual subscription and looking at the rumors on reddit above, it seems an even worse period awaits us.

Yep I cancelled it, the value just isnt there for me at the moment. I originally subbed for the Xbox day one big games and they just haven't delivered on that front for me, even cancelling at least one of those "big" games that I was looking forward to.

No, I am still subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate and pay €14.99 per month. Next charge in December is still €14.99, unlike this expert claimed:
Seems like it's been cleared up now. Certain countries have laws preventing sudden service pricing changes, so I guess people in those specific countries are getting the increase waived a month.

Good for them, I guess. But after November, they're in the same boat as everyone else (seemingly).

The only reason why I would keep on it, is because of Forza Horizon 6, and the next Halo refresh, seeing as Playstation don't offer a similar service of trying out the game before you part with however much it costs to buy it outright

This is why I have GamePass Ultimate until 2027 and will then reassess my gaming habits. I do use it now, but if I pick up the next Xbox/PC hybrid or Steam Machine (not both), my options will be a lot wider and I probably won't use it.

Yes in the end i did cancel, on console isn't worth the money anymore and on pc is easier to have cheap keys so i tend to buy just the stuff i want to play (other than the fact than steamos could be a really nice evolution so why bother with another launcher if you're using already the best avaialable)

There should have been an option in the poll for those that did not cancel but are locked in at a discounted price. It is curious to see the responses in the thread. It looks like most people that are sticking with it, are doing so because they locked in at a conversion price. I am not sure that is good news for the long-term growth of Game Pass as those options expire. Maybe the free ad tier will be the answer.

No I still value play anywhere with a very small and quiet formfactor , but it the steam machine becomes a real alternative I might.

Yep, I sure did. I was a day 1 Gamepass Ultimate user, had it all these years and MS fucked around too much and now found out. I won't be giving them a dollar again and already started buying all my games on Playstation. I've been out since the last price hike.

I have canceled. First time in 5 years. Quite tempted to sell my Series X. Was worth keeping when I could have day 1 games quite cheap but not now. Don't really have to time to play enough games to get value out of it as I have a PS5 and Switch 2.
