Just watched through the first two seasons over the past year in both JP/ENG on Netflix and despite the dub idiocy/the absolutely shitty climax of A02, thought it was a really nostalgic and charming viewing. Looking forward to seeing what this new season will hold, despite the passing of the previous series composer.

....maybe I'll watch Tamers sooner than I thought? Only ever saw bits and pieces of it.

And maaannnn I've really fallen in love with Butterfly.

Fuck the American theme and "Hey Digimon". Even as a kid they were intolerable.

What's this Dark Ocean loose end people are talking about? I vaguely remember it.

For a seemingly random filler episode, Kari became really depressed. After fighting some missnamed Divermon as well as her younger self, TK came to her rescue from this supposed other dark world. The episode then ended with A "Dark undersea master" rising from the Dark World's ocean while the narrarator said we'll learn about him another time. We never did.

A Persona-Like Digimon game would be amazing.

I will totally watch this.

It kind of makes me want to rewatch Digimon
Tamers. I don't think Adventures would hold up nearly as well.

I wonder if seasons 4 and on are worth caring about.....

btw, i really really REALLY liked season 3 of digimon, i was kinda identifiyng with it a lot

sunnier times come for everyone

Season 1 and 3 are just on another level. I don't hate any Digimon series as I find good stuff in all of them, but Adventure 01 and Tamers are the best.

And its not because of nostalgia.

Hopefully it ends up better than the last Adventure sequel, but I'm still having trouble containing my hype after how awesome Adventure was.

Tamers sequel with Konaka writing again next, please.

Frontier (Season 4) is weird. It's less "kids and their monster partners" and more Henshin heroes (like Kamen Rider or Super Sentai/Power Rangers)
I've heard great things about Savers (Season 5) so that's probably worth it.
Xros Wars (Season 6) is... a mess.

Ffffffffuck. Not Joe too. At least Izzy is probably still around.

Mona Marshall is still around. She plays Doraemon in the English dub.

Haven't been keeping up with the newer English dubs but do they keep more of the original background music nowadays? I know they don't dub the OPs/EDs. I can take random dub jokes and name changes, but the Japanese music is just soooo good.

Your enjoyment of the show depends on whether you can accept the lack of the child digimon. Otherwise, its very similar to adventure 01 in a sense. Also its Takuya/Koji (Taichi/Yamato) show, which is fine by me because the rest of the cast is boring.

Oh, and the soundtrack is dope.

What was wrong with the second season? I loved the second season. Veemon was dope as hell.

I remember hating it as a kid because they replaced the original cast but after watching it again a few months ago, I love it. I think I like it more than the first season. Yolei and Davis are awesome.

Huh. As a kid I pretty much immediately preferred the second season cast to the first.
