YYYEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so digi-excited. You just know this means more Wada!

How about bringing over the blu ray set, complete with subs? Sounds like an awesome set.

It seems like they've been toying with this for a long time, but not only do I doubt the Blu-rays will be anything but Qtec upscales, I doubt that Toei would want cheap competition with how expensive these are 100% going to be. I could see a subbed DVD release in the next year or so, especially with Saban approaching Shout! Factory to do Zyuranger.

Soooooo.. question will this be post digimon the first movie as I remember they where in school then or is it set just before then.

In Adventure, Taichi was 11. In Adventure 02, Taichi was 14. In Adventure 03, Taichi will be 17.

Movie 2 took place between Adventure and Adventure 02. Movie 4 took place shortly after Adventure 02, but is off-canon if I recall correctly.

So happy there are folks out there who fully appreciate who made Tamers great.

And because I like to traumatize people, here's that wonderful shot of Matt and Sora and their kids...

I like how they all gave their kids the exact same Digimon. Or how Tai's kid is literally young Tai from Digimon Adventure: The Movie

I ain't got a problem with Season 2. All I ask is that they retcon the fuck outta Matt and Sora's relationship. Send Matt to the fucking moon for all I care.

And I know it won't happen but Joshua Seth should come back.

This is glorious, even if it's complete garbage it will still be fun to see old familiar faces again. Even now I'm re-watching the movies and prepping to marathon adventures for nostalgia's sake. I really do want this to be good though, a return of something greatly enjoyed from my past.

My brain is still going to instantly go into shipping mode and every frame of Taichi togeather with Yamato will make me ridiculously happy even if they are arguing.

I didn't hate 02 ( except the epilogue) I just feel like it was going in too many places and didn't know where to quit or what to commit to. A lot of good plotlines got revealed and then suddenly wrapped up so they could move on to the next thing. I didn't much care for the new characters except Ken to be honest though, even most of the new digimon were a bit * shrugs* off for me. It wasn't bad though, not like when Tamers went off the rails into bananasville.

Besides the plotholes? For me, it just got harder to watch, the more the kids started to reach "pants-on-head" levels of not making sense with their ethical choices. Not to mention that none of the follow-up villains were as interesting and entertaining as "der Kaiser", in my opinion. Then again, considering Dagomon and Deimon were never really dealt with and we had to deal with a reprise of Vamdemon/Myotismon instead? At best, I would just say that 02 was a mess.

But at least I got BlackWargreymon out of the deal. He kicking HolyAngemon in the junk after shrugging off the attack that one shotted Piemon was enough to make me love him.

In season 1 when they had to fight that giant mega level digimon and they had to be shot with arrows to warp mega digivolve is my favorite

Also that episode where the evil clown turned everyone into dolls was so scary

I also remember in like season 2 the digimon god gave the gift to the old digimon to digivolve into ultimate again and had to travel the world destroying towers

The whole arc of them going back to the real world and having to find the 8th child (Hikari) was so good. I still remember the promos on Fox Kids :lol

Did Matt murder somebody in cold blood in an episode that I missed?

Nah. Depending on the context, he might have actually have been cool if he did something like that.

Instead he just constantly whining about nobody understanding him and talked big without ever being able to back it up. But hey, at least he eventually came to the realization that TK and the others didn't need his dramatic ass breathing down their neck all the time. I'll give him credit for that.

Digimon God?

The reason they couldn't evolve was due to the spires Ken put up. They had to use the digieggs to digivolve instead. Once the spires were destroyed they could do it again.

Edit:

Oh Gennai. That part. Been a long time since I watched the show.

Blackwargreymon was possibly the best thing to come out of that season.

There was a tonne that was broken in 02 but it felt like the writers were still trying. At least in the digiworld's lore and how motivations and loyalties varied amongst digimon. they screwed a lot up but to me it felt like they were trying to make something special and it got out of control.
There was potential for it to turn out greater than it did if they had just stopped playing "X is really the big bad" and carried out one coherent storyline. Also the final battle + speeches and epilogue can go straight to hell

I like Tamers in terms of new mechanics and the depth of personality the various digmon showed but holy fucking christ the new digi world lore and most of the tamers were fucking garbage a lot of the time.

I don't think there was ever a season/series that felt perfect to me. They were all flawed in some way that irked me but all of them also had highlights that made me stick with them to the end. I did give up after Tamers ended though because I couldn't find the spark in that next series and don't even remember it's name.

Yamato had his stupid moments but I always liked him and he was the reason I wanted to learn to play harmonica.

Yamato x Sora doesn't bug me. Drama happens in life and well, who knows! What bugs me is no Takeru x Hikari. I guess... it didn't work out? But they were perfect for each other! Ken x Miyako bothers me the most... they weren't THAT close...
