Uk seems to be getting completely different list of games, so far it seems:

1st: Trine
2nd: SFVI
3rd: Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim

Basically, you use a download manager to download a zip or executable, and they give you the registration key via email or you can check your account. After installation, there's no front-end like Steam, you can start it just like you bought a retail copy.

Is there DRM, like SecuROM, that comes packaged with these games? Do I have limited installs? Basically, are there any hidden trap doors?

Also, does anyone know what the next game is? I've seen the boxart before, but can't place a title on it.

D2D has its own DRM which I think has a 5 activation limit at which point you have to contact customer service (correct me if I'm wrong). I've only run into one instance where D2D had more DRM than the steam equivalent, and that was with Prince of Persia the Two Thrones, D2D still had starforce included with their download which Ubisoft had already removed on the steam version.

I don't think so... I've patched Vampire the Masquerade with the unofficial patch without a problem. It basically acts as a retail copy after installation as far as I can tell.

Yes for the most part. Some games can use any patch but most need the D2D patches.

I'll check for deals so sure.

D2D only patches? I guess it's due to how the game works from them, without a cd/dvd to play and all. I would think games for windows live titles just get updated over live still.

Just to update this the deal for NA today is Red Alert 3 Bundle for $20. Includes both RA3 and the Uprising expansion. Anyone know what the game featured in the ornament is? Kind of looks like Assassin's Creed but I'm pretty sure that's not it...

It is Assassin's Creed.

Edit: Might be Wolfenstein. I have the list of every game that's going to be on sale and the general order I think. Checked up and it looks like Wolfenstein is next.

Awesome, I thought the hood looked too dark to be Assassin's Creed. I'm definitely buying Prototype if it drops to $20 or less :D

Yes, yes , and yes.

Civ IV BTS, which removed DRM, I got DRMed out. Never using D2D again. Stick to Impulse and Gamersgate, with Steam if you need it.

I thought it was damn awesome. Loved it. Played well with a m/kb, but I'm sure it supports a 360 controller too.

The game is unadulterated chaos. Just don't take the thing seriously and you'll have a blast.

Anyways...today's deal for NA is Majesty 2 for $7.50 (81% off).

Majesty 2! I was kicking myself for not buying this during the Steam sale, as I had no idea that I wanted it. Supposedly it's a bit like Actraiser. Downloading now.
