Thanks man. No no. Being a long time fan of the series, I can see some of the more hardcore people having some issues. Personally I'm so tired of shooting games that a good hack and slash is right up my alley at the moment so I'm waiting for this pretty badly. I know everyone has different expectations/ wants. My favorite DMC order is still part 1, 3, 4 and 2. I don't care much for the stories in any of them really. I just want some good action, interesting boss battles, and overall have fun. Every DMC besides 2 (which I don't hate as much as everyone else but still was soooo disappointed in) has been a TON of fun. I couldn't stand that DMC 4 made you backtrack the entire way with Dante... yet somehow I still enjoyed it.
I'm not looking for a revolution here with the new DmC and again I'm actually really looking forward to playing it. I've enjoyed the previous Ninja Theory games even though they are not the best games out there, and they don't have to be. Fun is a huge factor for me past all the other bs. If it's not fun for me. That's my ultimate criticism. Even when a game has some other issues at times. I'm more curious to see peoples reaction after having played through it. This is why I don't really score games when I review them. Just point out some glaring issues, say what I thought was really well done, and the rest is up the the gamer.
Honestly, I'm fine with black-haired Dante with that cut. It looks nice, different, and refreshing. Plus it's more relatable visually than the white-haired dude previously.
Upon my quest to find more info on the OXM review... I found this little gem:
Best troll post ever.
I agree, Slasher, in terms of we all bringing in different expectations - I don't expect the best either, but when a game is deliberately lowering the bar and adding in visual candies to buff its perceived value, it doesn't sit well with me. Anyway, I think the more important question is
Will you be doing a Let'sPlay? I am assuming you will do a review

Genuine review = one where the reviewer has actually played the game. Sometimes people make up reviews without actually playing the game.

I actually wonder if it's possible that he simply isn't THAT interested in what goes on with DmC, content to let Ninja Theory have their way (largely). Didn't he say Dragon's Dogma was the game he wanted to make the most coming into the industry? And a few design mishaps aside (albeit pretty serious ones) it really IS a very good game, so he's certainly not clueless on making a good game.Pretty sure Capcom PR is keeping him on a leash with DmC. You don't direct games as mechanically sound as DMC3 and DMC4 if you're clueless.

Will you take his copy and gut it in front of his eyes?come to my store, we'll be friends.
I wasn't the one who found it, I was just relaying the information. So it seems that Italian-Insight-Factor (seriously, the fuck is this website?) review Dahbomb put up isn't real, I guess they neve even received a review build to begin with.

... Actually, I do worry that mine's decided to start doing that. If Anarchy Reigns comes pre-opened I'm going to switch to another and hope they didn't turn around and establish some "gut all the copies!" order across all stores, just one or two being run by fucking idiots/assholes.
Wary of early reviews, but I hope this is good. There's nothing coming out January that I know of but this.
Joking, right? I don't really care about Dante either way (just observing this thread from afar), but the way Dante looks now is generic as hell. Yet another white boy with short dark hair, whee! But other than that, game looks good... I think. Hard to tell from the mixed reactions of people following this game more than I whether there's something worthwhile here (just skimming the thread, yo).Honestly, I'm fine with black-haired Dante with that cut. It really must take a special kind of asshole (or extremely limited drawer space) to have multiple copies gutted then.Fuck that, that's extra work. Only need one copy gutted.
I'll take anything over something that resembles an animu dude with a jpop hairdo. Which seems to be the norm in 90% of japanese games.
new Dante looks like he'd fit in Twilight
Dante looked like he'd fit in my fanfic about a dragon killing 10,000 year old half demon half angel who is also cursed, and he's Sephiroth's brother and it's on my deviantart if you want to read about it.
Honestly, I'm not sure which you're pulling for because Twilight sounds worse to me.
Donte looks like he would fit right in with the cast of Twilight. Dante especially how he appeared in DMC 4 looked just fine.
Dante has too much facial hair though as of DMC4.Twilight/WB TV cast versus animu peeps.
Frankly, same difference for me. One caters to teenage japanese audiences/weeaboos and the other to teenage westerners.

I don't really get any "anime" vibe from Dante( again especially how he appears in 4) that most seem to be mentioning. Again there wasn't anything wrong with the character before, i get some people didn't like it, but why should it be changed to appease people who weren't into it in the first place? Can't they just play something else?
I never wanted DMC to be a super "loledgy" knock off of "They Live". That's what new IP's are for. I can't stand Kratos's design and I'm not a huge fan of GoW combat either. Sure many people share this sentiment, should Sony now change how Kratos looks and make GoW's gameplay closer to Ninja Gaiden? Sure i would love it, don't think the fanbase would appreciate it too much though.
I'm a fan of Kazuma Kiryu, but I wouldn't get bent out of shape if they changed how he looked. I have the games with the old him in it. I'll always have those.
I don't really see Uncle Dante as anime-ish, Nero is though. DMC4 Dante reminds me of my favorite western cartoon characters growing up.
Good point. I mean, who would make such a big deal out of a character's hair color?

I'm also a Yakuza fan, and i'd be pissed if they went with a change as drastic as this new Dante. It's not just the look, he's a different person altogether.I'm a fan of Kazuma Kiryu, but I wouldn't get bent out of shape if they changed how he looked. I have the games with the old him in it.
