Like you said, she was poorly served by bad material - I actually thought her first season started really well, and she was good in the role, but it was on a steady decline after that.

I feel the same way, that the material didn't really let her be very Doctor like except for brief moments.
Episodes felt like weird edutainment.

I just watched the new Suicide Squad movie and the last part of it is Dr Who as fuck with Peter Capaldi’s mad scientist character and his diabolical research. From ‘Into the Dalek’ when the Doctor got shrunk and put inside a Dalek.

Speaking of Suicide Squad, I’d be down for Idris Elba as the next Doctor. Hell, I’d be cool with John Cena because I have zero fucks left to give, lol. Let’s get back to the Doctor kicking ass:
