They seem to have been doing quite a few of these tie-in mini books. They published The Angel's Kiss, a book based around River as Melody Malone, as well as a Holmes-style Paternoster Gang Adventure.

I have a T-Shirt with that on it.

I have that poster 5 feet to my right. :)

The Doctor and Clara really click, their chemistry is really sparkling. Not the best episode ever, but those two really shone through some of the duller parts.

Nice of them to throw in an Amy reference too.

Kudos to Moffatt for not having The Doctor be an emotional wreck. Post-Rose Tennant was unbearable at times.

In fairness, post-Rose Tennant had shitty Martha while Post-Amy Smith has Clara.

Excited, if only for the setting. Rewatching seasons 5 and 6 and I've felt that Moffet's era has been too... human. Its nice to see a lot of straight up aliens again.

By all accounts, this is the biggest amount of aliens we've ever seen in an episode.

Maybe if the original vision for the Shadow Proclamation had come to pass in The Stolen Earth it might have beaten it, but they've gone all out with this one.

A very good opener. Not great, but the stuff that mattered (Clara + Doctor) shined above everything else.

Don't you think if you're running some secret human harvesting organization you'd tell you're employees not to use FourSquare? At least that part of the 'hacking' was fairly realistic. All the security measures in the world can't save you from idiots.

I wonder if we are going to get Amy references every week

1) Who gave the number?

2) What's the Great Intelligence planning?

3) Does Clara retain the memories from each life? Would explain the nanny behavior and the hacking skills.

Even my wife commented on how the music was in the episode, and she usually doesn't pick up on that stuff.

Whaaaa? Fix that. The first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture, and a true classic.

A friend of mine has it on blu-ray and has been wanting me to see it since last summer, but we just keep forgetting.

Am I the only one having some issues understanding them talk? Their accents were making me double back and turning up the volume, at least more than usual.

I heard "I'm going to motorbate you" from Matt Smith, when I think he actually said "I'm going to motivate you", for one.

Well, it certainly looked nice.

For a new year, Moffat decided to start out with a misogynistic joke and repeated usage of the phrase 'Doctor Who' in the first 10 minutes of the show (complete with the Doctor talking about enjoying hearing it), before jumping into a plot which involved people repeating phrases and bodies spinning around to reveal a different face. Glad Moffat could come up with some great new material for the 50th anniversary year. And he wasn't content with completely ruining the Great Intelligence in the Christmas special, now he wants to drag out his inferior version of the Intelligence out across the whole season.

Jenna Louise-Coleman is great, but so far she's just been parroting the same 'clever dialogue' that every character under Moffat has said.

When did Amy die? I kind of figured she gave it to her before she died, perhaps writing the number in the book.

Died before 2012, this series takes place 2013. I don't think it's possible. It's got to be River.

If there's one thing I can rely on after each episode, it's Kuwabara hating on Moffat.

He probably wanted to motorboat her.

I thought the WiFi / hacking angle was terrible. It killed all hope of suspension of disbelief - it reminded me of witnessing the supposed tech talk in die hard 4

However, there were some charming bits and I'm in love with Jenna, so I don't really care. The great intelligence seems to like controlling things you can barely touch... Snow, wireless, what next? I hope Ian McKellen turns up as one of its forms at some point

Episode was okay. Not terrible, not great. Nice re-introduction to the season. The airplane bit may have been a little overboard (hehe), though.

I didn't think they'd bring up The Great Intelligence again so soon, but there you go.

I'm really hoping we get some form of advancement with the Silence storyline soon. Still so many questions that need answering, and Moffat just swept it all under the rug by the end of series 6, with series 7A being all about the Ponds (which I'm fine with).

In the end, when Clara asked him to come back the next day, I thought she would somehow end up dead between the present time and 7:00, but I suppose that's too morbid.

Moffat really loves his "eleven" references, doesn't he?

"What chapter are you on?"

"Ten."

"Eleven is the best. You'll cry your eyes out."

The Doctor ditching the old coat was sad.

The girl on the cover of "Summer Falls" by Amelia Williams resembles Karen Gillan. And she has her boys with her, one resembling Benedict Cumberbatch and the other looking like a cross between Arthur Darvill and Martin Freeman.

Jenna-Louise Coleman is adorable.

Was very Moff by Numbers as Kuwabara said. Dunno if it's just the split series thing still leaving me a bit down on the show but I didn't really get in to it. Well, I like the Doctor's new coat, so that's something I guess.

It really feels like a new season, even though it's actually the 7th episode.

Other thing I wanted to mention: this is the second time UNIT's appeared this season in some capacity. I wouldn't mind them having some role in the show again, but not in the ridiculousness of the RTD era.

Okay, that was pretty good. Some nice camp to it. A bit too formulaic for me to really like it, but as an introduction to Clara-who-we-will-spend-time-with it was certainly alright. I like that the GI might be recurring.
