Doctor Who Series Seven |OT| The Question You've Been Running From All Your Life

It's so weird. I like Martha a lot and feel like I'm the only who thinks that, but I only think that because she's VERY strong in particular episodes. She's even better as a side character once Donna is the companion. It's just a few episodes where her omg uguuuuu nature towards the Doctor nearly ruins her.

Has Doctor Who ever had a "bottle episode" set only on the TARDIS?

There is also an episode of the PC adventure games set entirely within the TARDIS, you don't get to explore it though so it misses the point on why that idea is interesting. Even that old Doctor Who FMV game with Anthony Ainley let you get lost in the TARDIS - it was terrible and there was nothing of note to find but at least you got lost.

Sorry guys, I'm pretty busy so I don't know if I'll watch all of RTD's run anytime soon. If you can give me a MUST WATCH list, then I may consider it.

A BOTTLE EPISODE WITH ELEVENTH DOCTOR AND SUSAN REMINISCING AND RUNNING AROUND THE TARDIS THE ENTIRE EPISODE WOULD BE FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

Just IMAGINE.

Assuming these are all one hour each...I'm gonna need a shorter list. Also, it's just Mariolee.

The Edge of Destruction, a two-part serial that followed the seven-part first appearance of the Daleks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Edge_of_Destruction
Amy's Choice is entirely in the TARDIS as the other scenes are in dreams.
While it's not in the TARDIS, Midnight kind of counts as the Doctor and a bunch of other people are trapped in a tram.

I'd like to see a Waiting for Godot take on it as I described, but I'd also like to see Edge of Destruction now too.

I think one slowburn episode of them just talking with the original actress would be amazing in and of itself. Not every episode needs running around. Sometimes the Doctor has to stop and think of how far he's either come or fallen.

Unfortunately she's crazy looking. Way too much plastic surgery. As a plot element I think she would have had to have several regenerations too.

The finale episodes in series 4 are so so so much better than series 3's finales.

In other news, I have this feeling that today's Pond Life is going to
crush my heart forever. I mean really? Divorce? After all the shit? No way.

Whatever you end up watching, Mariolee, I can't recommend certain episodes highly enough. In no particular order...

Any Steven Moffat episode (The Empty Child two-parter, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library two-parter), particularly as they set up a lot of themes for Moffat's era.
Any Paul Cornell episode (Father's Day, Human Nature two-parter)
Midnight
The Waters of Mars
The End of the World
Gridlock
Dalek
The Impossible Planet two-parter
The Fires of Pompeii

I've left some more controversial ones that I personally love off the list.

There's a different sense of tone and style than the Moffat era (more comic book, IMO), sure, but any of these are top-notch episodes of television that are well worth your time.

Also, watch some Eccleston stuff. The man's wonderful.

So glad
Rory is the one leaving. Amy always gets portrayed as the one in control despite Rory regularly proving to be way more capable.

Um..
They're both leaving. And Amy might be dying. Honestly, I'd love to see her perma-die. She's such a bitch.

Also, the Tumblr Doctor Who tag is fucking crazy. Some serious Chris Crockers in there, stay out at all costs.

Um, I meant
leaving the marriage.

Oh! Right, that makes sense. And yeah actually, I imagined he'd get a little bit tired of her shit after "The Girl Who Waited"
Really? He waits for a thousand years for you, knowing you might never come back to life, and you return the favour by;
1) Immediately trying to get on the Doctor when you see him on your wedding day
and 2) Losing your shit at him when you have to wait a fraction of a 1000 years because of your own stupid mistake?
.

If Pond Life isn't viewable outside the UK (is it? Dunno?), I suggest perhaps being a bit wary with screengrabs, at least until Asylum time?

That is Amy's character. For better or worse. I appreciate that she's a bit of a mess.

Pond Life is available on Youtube in the US. At least, that's how I've been watching it.

Man, I can't wait until everyone else has seen the episode tomorrow. There's so much to talk about and no one to talk about it with!!

I'm so exciiiited. I just can't hiiiide it.

Pond Life has me psyched for the new series, although the last one was a bit of a downer to lead into the series. Ah well.

Has there been any indication when the second half is going to air in 2013? Is series 8 going to be in 2013 as well, or will we have to wait until 2014?

So is this the series with the Doctor finally having to face up to the wedge he can drive between people, instead of smiling his way out of it like he did with Jackie and Martha's family, and so on?
Downer compared to the Ood, but still psyched

My first thought, now I've had a little time to process all this: What's River's opinion on this? Did she already know?
