Yeah, so a quick review of GuliKit Elves 2 Pro.
It's a really really small controller, definetly aimed towards retro gaming. Even thumbsticks are small, build quality is good. Retro shape.
Triggers actually are just bumpers. So yeah, that's what you should expect.
I would still recommend 8BitDo Pro 2 for you. I have managed to mod it fairly easy with this

It improved sticks movement, I have adjusted the sticks deadzone and tested the circularity

I think I managed to get from 13% error to like 0.5%
This could also fit I have those but I didn't check it yet

I have tested the Apex 4 throughly, it's insane a bit of heavy, it has trigger stops but through software I think it has basically more advanced adaptive triggers than DualSense to achive this. It also has different modes for triggers which basically gets you a drifferent feedback.
rubik's dude
GameSir Super Nova although it has Hall Effect sticks the circularity of those get to like 0.1% error. Reminds me a lot about 8BitDo Ultimate 2. Shell has really good plastic and grips are nice, nicer than Ultimate 2, even back buttons feel higher quality than those on 8BitDo. It has trigger stops.
Also it has PS style bumpers and triggers. It and it is really light.
The only thing they cut corners in, I think, are the thumbsticks- material on them feels weird and they don't have metal friction ring on them but the controller has they plastic accent ring that acts like a friction ring I guess.
Thumbsticks and button rearrangements are easily done due to magnetic faceplate. I fitted in easily GuliKit swappable thumbsticks from KK3 Pro which broke with metal friction ring fairly easy. But I haven't tested the sticks yet with those.

GameSir Cyclone 2 a lot of similarities to Apex 4 but without adjustable force feedback of joystics but it has TMR joysticks. It is also really light.
It has trigger stop switches hidden inside triggers.
It even has similar buttons, triggers and bumpers.
All controllers work good on Windows, Apex 4 works flawlessly on Linux.
I have issues with both GameSir controllers on Linux.
Super Nova support showed a brief notification on Steam Linux Native client as potentially unsupported but it did work I think.
Cyclone 2 is being recognised as a DualShock 4 controller and CachyOS is notifying me it only has 5% of battery left. And Steam input forces PlayStation icons in games, lmao.
Will try to do some udev rules for both GameSir controllers to pass as Xbox controllers and see what they will do on Linux then.
I haven't tested the polling rate on Elves but the rest of controllers cap out at 1000hz polling rate.
Not including Pro 2 obviously in this comparison since it's a bluetooth controller.
