8bitdo ulitmate wireless controller 2 just dropped

I'm still torn on this damn thing. It's getting less and less drawbacks with every iteration but then they go and add clicky R1/L1 and I don't know if that's something I can put up with or not.

Between profiles, macros, and L4/R4 it's getting really hard to ignore.

Finally a good fucking mouse.
Ordered

Already have their keyboard (fami edition)
What is up with those side buttons?

Anyone own one of there keyboards? I like the C64 and NES one. Unsure of the quality.
Insane value for money. Buying those Kailh switches and similar keycaps for a custom keyboard will set you back double its cost. Really nice feel to it and very responsive with the dongle it includes. As with all other 8Bitdo stuff I've bought, I'm very satisfied.

I got the fami one. It's insanely good.
It might be the better keyboards at that price point currently. And it got me to fall in love with clicky switches. I was linear guy before.
Switches feel great, build quality is great, no board flex, cool volume controls, usb dongle just works and keyboard takes no time to wake up....
And battery lasts like 1-2 months of constant typing. It's crazy good. I don't switch it off or anything.

If anything, I would get another one but Famicon is the best color obviously !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that is clean.

Wanted to get the ultimate 2 switch controller, but not real sure how much use I'd get out of the extra shoulder buttons (among other things).

So ended up just getting th ultimate 1 switch controller.

Have only ever used Xbox 360 / X1S / XS controllers for gaming on PC/etc. so shouldn't be a huge shift (even though it is smaller).

TMR just like the good Dual Shock 3 models.

I might get rid of a few of my wired models and give this one a whirl.

We're in a third party controller renaissance right now and you should all take advantage.

Haven't bought a third party controller since the mad catz controllers on PS2.

However, 8bitdo seems solid

I have their Fami keyboard and its pretty fun. Mind you, there are better keyboards, but the look is great!

i have the ultimate 1.

amazing controller. will buy 2 but only when there is an xbox branded one. its just easier to deal with all the games on pc. and all games will recognize it without issues. Call of duty for example is iffy when it comes to controller support.

also. its a nice advantage to play it on xbox too ( if i ever bought a cheap console one day for game pass under the TV )

Do what you wanna do, but the ultimate 2 is an Xinput controller and will function exactly the same as an Xbox controller on PC but with way better wireless connection

*WARNING ABOUT THIS CONTROLLER

I don't know why these are returned more than usual but I use software on Amazon that tells me about a product listing and details about the item. This item has a High Return Rate. I don't know the details why but people are returning this controller at a higher rate than usual. Take that for what it's worth.

Probably because people assume it has Switch Bluetooth when they released that variant very shortly after. Again messy line up on otherwise awesome controllers.

Speaking of, is there a good way of replacing or changing the buttons around so they're in the Xbox pattern?

I love the Ultimate Bluetooth I have, but whenever I play a PC game, I get tripped up by the button layout cause I'm a Playstation baby, looking at a Switch layout, but having to press the Xbox equivalent buttons of ABXY, which breaks my brain whenever the screen tells me to press a specific button lmao.

You probably want the Game Sir Nova which lets you do just that easily. 8bitdo doesn't have that option.

Bruv things went shit, I took a turn for the worse through Saturday evening and come down with a stinking cough and cold, sweating out aswell. I think I caught it off that Eurovision shit my missus had on. To the point, I didnt try it till Monday in the end as just slept that shit off Sunday, its decent though, only used it for about an hour but no worries setting it up, downloaded the software to update the firmware no problem. Windows sees it as an Xbox controller so it should work on nearly every game without hassle. It feels good to hold, it brings your hands in slightly more than an Xbox controller but you forget about it quickly. The only thing is how long it will last, time will tell but at least the hall effect sticks should stop stick drift.
I still plan on that KFC this weekend though so will update if I do grab one, complete with pics of the controller after using it while eating.

Just got the Xbox Retro Keyboard and mouse. Very, very nice set for the money. I went with the Xbox version because of the RGB options and I simply couldn't roll with a light colored keyboard and mouse. Once I gather up all my 8bitdo stuff I'll post some pics of the collection. I have almost their entire product line, haha. AMA.

I really like it so far. I'm coming from an old ass logitech g403 from 2017 that still used mini USB for charging and the rubber on the side was falling apart. I love the look and love that it has a dock. My only complaint would be I kept hitting the side buttons on accident but I turned them off with the software. Fits nicely in my hand and the wireless connection is flawless just like their controllers.

the side buttons are my concern too. I am using 1-3-1 grip which is not very popular.
We will see!

I have most of them (don't have the Saturn yet). They are great KLACK keyboards which means they are very loud. I don't use them in the office but I have them on my work bench and love using them. Wireless range is great. Battery life is great. Keyboard heft and overall tensile strength is great (doesn't feel cheap at all). Not as hearty as some of the Keychron units but also not as flimsy and "weak" (IMO) as the Logitech keyboards.

Recommend as a good to great typing experience (based on your level of Keyboard Hipster...my level is around a System 76 Launch Heavy & Kenisis Adv. 2 level of hipster) and esp. if you like the retro styling.

Thankfully you can just turn them off with their software, or set them up as macros. There is also a TINY light in the center of the mouse to indicate if it's charging. Very subtle and slick.

in fact I bought 2... because my buddy who was also using razer and corsair.... have bad scroll on both.
I swear gaming mice have worst scroll wheels ever.

BennyBlanco BennyBlanco , I just purchased the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 from Amazon. I should have it Sunday. I'm curious what your thoughts are on it. I saw a post where you said you don't like the connection with the dock, but how does the controller look/feel/respond?

I'm coming from the Xbox Series controllers. I love the feel of them, but there are too many issues with Microsoft that are causing me to look elsewhere for controllers. For example, their left and right bumpers fail due to poor quality materials (just Google it and there are so many complaints about this), the fact that their PC software won't properly update the controller firmware, and the biggest issue is its connection issues with PC, even when using the 2.4 GHz dongle.

I pressed order on one about 10 seconds before seeing your post, looking forward to trying the TMR sticks and extra shoulder buttons but I'm not sure it's worth it if it makes you ill mate

I think they are the best controllers money can buy tbh. I have multiple modern Xbox controllers, a Dualsense, DS4, Xbox elite v1, Switch pro controller, Wii U pro controller, the first version of the 8bitdo ultimate, etc.

Feels solid. GREAT battery life. GREAT d pad. Sticks that will never drift and have a very nice grippy texture. Extra customizable buttons if you want. Lights if you want. I also am no longer having a problem with the dock.

I swear I don't work for 8bitdo.

Yea thats the only problem, might be worth masking up like peak "stay home, protect the nhs, save lives" era for your first sesh with it.

Can't be ultimate without the dual analogs positioned for symetrical hands and with the button labels prefered by the most handsome, sexually atttractive and intelligent people.

just kidding, relax your tits

I just ordered one, a matter of fact. GameSir Super Nova.

Plus a white magnetic plate.

Can pitch in a few cents in a bit.

Currently testing FlyDigi Apex 4.

This thing is insane value. Got it dirt cheap on banggood with some coupons, like 50% off or smth. 6 days shipping from China. Extremely fast, it also has magnetic plate. Adjustable force of joysticks feedback 🤯.

I tested GuliKit KK3 Pro - bought it for a price of 8BitDo 2C - didn't like the tactile feedback of triggers and bumpers, poke around a bit in it - and well sensor on hall effect triggers just broke. So now I have some nice swappable thumbsticks and hall effect modules I guess to mod into another controller down the line...

I just hope GuliKit Elves 2 Pro I ordered directly of GuliKit will be a better quality controller, I decided even if I won't like something I'm not opening that one up for sure.

I also pulled the trigger on GameSir Cyclone 2.

So I may pitch in a few of quick reviews of those if anyone is interested a bit.
