where did i say that being a gangsta was exclusively for blacks? find that for me.

You're entire posted said that.

The things you mentioned aren't all "gangsta" either. It's just what this person likes.
How do you know he wasn't heading back to the projects after selling some crack and and killing some bloods?

I wasn't hating on you for being what you are, don't take offense. I was trying to show you that people like to do different things, it can seem weird or stupid to you, but other people might feel the same way about shit that you do.

This is just a question, don't respond with ":lol :lol no I wasn't, see you suck" but weren't you playing cs:s the other day?

i understand that people like different things, but this guy had the whole MTV fresh style going on, and it was plainly obvious.

as for CS:S... no. i believe you're referring to the actual member named "lonestar" on this forum. pc games aren't my thing.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack

Alright then. ..........I take it you meant to reply to my other post, though. ;)

Yeah, I did. It's crazy how much different you act and perform when you're deprived of sleep. I'm conscious and everything, but I'm making these blatantly stupid errors everywhere all day. 4 hours of sleep is terrible for a human being. 12 is where it's at. Mmm...

And I actually agree with Lonestar here. Sactown was reaaaaaaaaaallly stretching with his initial reply to him. Some people just try too hard to look hard. I don't call them wannabe gangstas, because none of those pussies know what it's like to be an actual gang member. I just think they're pussies and are putting up a "front" to make up for some insecurity. They think they're hot shit when they "rock" their car a certain way, or when they try to talk like 'they straight out da hood an' shit.' I didn't see anywhere in Lonestar's post that insinuated anything related to gangsters being race exclusive. If anything, the white folk started gangs in the first place.

I didn't believe Lonestar would have made that same post if the person in the car was black. I don't consider "gangsta" to be a good thing, and I find little mommas boys who pretend to be gangsta even worse, but unless you've spent time with the person, you don't know them well enough to say that they're faking it.

I wear low baggy pants, and sometimes try to give off that whole gangsta image, but all I'm trying to do is keep myself from finding out my real waist size, avoid creating a bulge in my pants if I get hard, and trying to build confidence. Nothing wrong with that shit. I'm not stealing little kids lunch money, or intentionaly trying to intimidate people, I'm just trying to feel good. I don't want to be hated on for that.

You're just living for the sake of living, not doing anything special with your life, afraid to stand out, just going through the motions preparing to die one day.

But the funny part is hip-hop culture–glorified-ghetto-lifestyle dragged into subarban culture is a way to fit in, to be MTV at your highschool even though the ghetto was never a part of your life. Often the child's parents moved to the neighborhood so their offspring wouldn't have to experience the troubles of poverty. Thus, a bit of irony.

The hip-hop look, gangsta look, whatever, is just another sub-culture and a popular one at that. It is not a counter-culture movement at all anymore. Pop culture is largely a bunch of sub-cultures together. Groups, groups, groups. If anyone is offended by attacks on stereotypes, I have found they often are a part of the stereotype. So don't be it and kill the stereotype yourself. That's my advice.

I hope this doesn't concern the color pink and Cam'ron

:lol

Talib Kweli and Mos Def are keeping hip hop alive. For me at least. :D

I suggest you get "Question in the Form of an Answer" from People Under the Stairs & the self-titled "Madvillian" project from MF Doom & Madlib. There's more to good hip-hop than okayplayers (don't get me wrong, I love the OKPs but the latest Talib & Mos joints are really... average at best)

Isnt it time for rock to be cool again?

I think rock is making a comeback. In Chicago two of the more popular stations have been playing harder rock. Hearing Iron Maiden, classic Metallic, and some of the newer hard rock bands on popular stations are good signs that things are getting better for rock =) Its much better than it was in the 90's when grunge saturated everything.

Are you serious? Grunge was the only exciting thing to come outta rawk in a loooong time. I'm more of a fan of power chords than hairspray & eyeliner, so "the grunge era" was a great time for me. Of course, eventually you get Bush, but that's how musical trends go.

Im not saying I hate grunge, but some variety is nice. Its was like all the other genres disappeared in the 90's

Don’t confuse the glamour/hair bands with metal/hard rock.

SWEDISH PERFECTION
I don't have a problem with hip hop/rap music, but some people who try to act out their passion for this culture can be a bit...confusing at times. The biggest problem I have stems from the way they talk and act...all those rap attitude words, to the point where half of what's being said is just filler material. And if that's the case I end up having trouble actually taking them seriously...it somehow sounds fake to me.

Keep in mind, I live in Sweden...we barely have any black people here, but we do have people from the middle east and countries around that part of the world who seek refugee here. Quite a few of them (based on those I've actually met, of course) really tries to flow with the black rappah style of talking and acting, so to speak. And that's what it feels like to me: acting. I swear, some of them would probably want to go to the US and live in a ghetto, because it would be "cool".
