You'll need to get a receiver, official ones seem to go for $20-$30, you could probably get an off-brand one for $10 or so.finalozzo said:how can i use a 360 wireless pad? I can't play xenoblade with a keyboard.
better off getting a wired 360 controller then lol. i paid $25.chaosblade said:You'll need to get a receiver, official ones seem to go for $20-$30, you could probably get an off-brand one for $10 or so.
so with a wired controller i just have to plug it in and it's done, i can play with it. Am i right?DMPrince said:better off getting a wired 360 controller then lol. i paid $25.
Well, you configure the buttons, too, but yeah.finalozzo said:so with a wired controller i just have to plug it in and it's done, i can play with it. Am i right?
outside of it auto updating drivers, you plug the controller inand then you map the buttons. couldn't be much simpler than that ;Dfinalozzo said:so with a wired controller i just have to plug it in and it's done, i can play with it. Am i right?
You can get a wireless reciever off of monoprice.com for like $10finalozzo said:so with a wired controller i just have to plug it in and it's done, i can play with it. Am i right?
My wireless works no problems. No special config needed with r7716, but I use it as a classic controller.Zimbardo said:is there a trick to getting the xbox pad working with Xenoblade?
i have the controller setup under the GCPad settings option, but it wont work at all in game.
tested it with Mario Kart Wii and it works in that ...so i dunno what's going on.

Yep, it works on Mario Kart because it has gamecube controller support but for everything else you need to set Classic or Classic Pro as the extension.Thoraxes said:Select Emulated Wii Remote

Voila.

I can run Xenoblade?

that sort of thing
Crank up the internal resolution in Dolphin so it downsamples (SSAA). 4x should look pretty nice, not sure how well it will run on the card though.unagisensei said:Anyone got any advice on actually getting to AA to work in Xenoblade on a ATI 6950 card?
I've tried enabling and disabling it Dolphin (r7719M) and in profile settings in RadeonPro (tried several different versions Adapative, Morphilogical, Multisample) and everything just looks the same - i.e. I still see aliasing.
What's your setup? I thought at first I could do 4x Res + 9xSSAA since I tried it before and it was running fine but then for some reason I left the title screen running and when the game started transitioning from day to night, my framerate tanked lol. I lowered SSAA to 4xSSAA and framerate was still lower than normal. I could only run that part at 3x Res + 4xSSAA at normal speed so I'm staying with that.Zimbardo said:tried it out with 4x internal resolution and 4x anti aliasing (quality level 16 - whatever that means), 16x AF. still works great. i thought it might slow down at that setting, but its been really good so far. impressed.

Internal res is basically the same thing as SSAA. Not sure how SSAA is treated in Dolphin, if you raise the internal res to 4x (2560x2112) then add 9x SSAA, would that make it 23040x19008 res? If that's the case it's no wonder you couldn't run it, one frame wouldn't even fit in your VRAM.georaldc said:What's your setup? Use 4x res in Dolphin, and if you have GPU power left anything over 2x SSAA is probably overkill. Assuming the forced SSAA even works, some people reported it doesn't.
Yeah I know its overkill and doesn't even make any noticeable difference at all in a lot of games but in xenoblade's case, the vegetation and visual clarity kept improving as I moved up on internal res and SSAA. You can try it yourself by running in windowed mode and changing the res/ssaa. 4xRes + 9xSSAA was working fine for me until I tried leaving that title screen running so I moved down to 3x Internal Resolution and 4xSSAA for now. My specs by the way:chaosblade said:Internal res is basically the same thing as SSAA. running @ 2.5x internal res, 4x SSAA, 16x AF, etc. seems good in every situation i've seen so far ...huge battles, etc. i think i might stick with this setting for now ...higher ones would seem good for awhile, but in huge battles i could tell stuff was getting a little slower.
here's a 'print screen' that i took. i guess its a shabby way to do your screen caps, but it was quick and easy.

game looks pretty decent.
Select manage 3D settings. Then click the Program Settings tab and press the Add button. Navigate to your dolphin.exe and then set the antialiasing through the feature list. Make sure you have set "Use the advanced 3d image settings" active in the Adjust image settings with Preview.Fahrenheit said:Two questions, with the NVidia control panel. Follow this advice. It really works.jvalioli said:FYI if you're having sound issues with Xenoblade during cutscenes try turning off V-Sync.

Um, I purchased a $600 laptop last year (that I returned) that ran Smash Bros at very playable speeds. And games like Kirbys epic yarn at full speed of course.TheExodu5 said:Sadly, no laptop is really going to run Dolphin well.
Running well means 100% speed, for me. It takes a beefy CPU to run Xenoblade without any major audio crackling or slowdown. My friend's i7 920 @ 2.8GHz can only manage about 85% speed. A laptop CPU is not even going to fare as well as that.jvalioli said:I'm using a laptop too. Some people on neoGAF have really weird expectations of what "running well" means.
It seems to still have the goddamn red shadows issue and, last time I tried, it didn't render 95% of the scene on the DirectX 11 plugin. Mostly black image, with some HUD and one or other 3D models.Yaska said:Some Skies of Arcadia love which seems to be so far completely playable. (And it really wasn't according Dolphin forums.)
2.5x Native

Dolphin 7719M build from official site.
Game runs fullspeed, tho occasional hiccups in cutscenes. No audio problems either so far.

The list of games in the OP is simply a list of game configuration guides that were made in this thread, the Dolphin is not limited to those games.Para bailar La Bomba said:Hope this post doesn't come across as being rude -

Is the list of games in the OP complete and updated? It seems rather small.
Follow-up:
At what rate are new games added/tested?
