First 10/10 from IGN since 2023… That's how Nintendo deal with the haters 😂 With amazing games.
It'd be impressive if it was someone like Edge or similar reviewing this but IGN.

Reviews are just good for console wars, nothing more.
True. Metacritic can be a guide, but 90% is all about your own decision. The best reviewer is our own instinct and discernment. I have allot of games since NES era up to PS era, that I enjoyed allot even if it was not critically well received.

I don't get it. He drools over every trivial mechanic, like "WOWW there is a CRATER if you fall from the height!!1".

Thanks for posting the video. I expected the game to be good, but I wasn't putting much stock in a score from IGN. Now that I watched the conversation with the reviewer at the end, know a bit more about his credentials and why he scored it a 10, I know I can trust it. Really appreciate it.

And the opposite, I've really disliked many highly critically acclaimed games before I gave up and just started trusting my own judgment.

So I went ahead and preordered it yesterday after reviews dropped and downloaded last night. Played for about an hour in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep. Maybe it gets better but man the camera gets janky when you are bashing through walls. I didn't love it from the start. Will give it another go later.

Really was expecting this to be a 7/10 game when I first saw the reveal. Then when it was mentioned the Odyssey team developed it I was cautiously optimistic about it. Glad it's reviewing well.

Same. I'm always surprised how bad many people are at looking at game footage. A lot of people were surprised at the 2nd trailer, and surprised again at the reviews. Weird.

Many people's media discernment is very, very bad. We also had people legitimately thinking MindsEye was gonna be awesome when it was clear from watching like 90 seconds of a trailer that it was a total dud.
