Whoever did this deserves a cold beer and a pat on the back.
Holy hell at those color corrected shops. Great stuff.
Piss filters suck.
This is the one I'm loving. Looks like Doom. Far more than the demo with the coloring they showed. It's perfect.

At first I thought it was just samey monster design and the lack of vibrancy and contrast were just adding to that. But these shots show that no, it's entirely the lack of vibrancy and contrast that is the problem.Wow, the colored one is way way better than the official brown filtered one. That is one of my complaints, the monsters all blend into the background.
Hehe, it's kind of funny that this is pretty much the opposite of what happened with Diablo III. Tons of petitions were started, was crazy.
It had a big effect on the game as well, the colors were a lot more muted in the end game I think.
On PC you can probably just use the numberbar to switch. Weapon wheel is just there for console players.

The colour did also help a lot with the gameplay. The enemies in Doom contrast really well with their environment and had distinctive silhouettes so that it was really easy to tell what they were even when they were a 10 pixel splotch on the horizon. That's not as necessary anymore but that is still a huge part of the games' visual identity.Yeah. Those corrected shots are exactly what I want to see. Someone take this to the highest level at id. DOOM isn't just the gameplay, it's the look. And the original just had so much more color mixed in with the brown and grey.
I can do without blue mouths, but thats pretty convincing,
How so? Because, i can see no resemblance whatsoever. This game looks like Gearbox's version of Duke Nukem Forever
Has SweetFX worked with Id's games in the past?
I imagine it would be very possible to make the game's colors look like the edited ones above if SweetFX is compatible. Hell, half of the SweetFX mods I've seen were saturated like mad. The other half desaturated.
Much prefer the second screenshot.

I think that's a bit of the issue though - they fit in too well, but if you think about it, they should feel well out of place there. They're from a different world altogether, but they fit in like they belong in that shot.I can't rightly say that I prefer one over the other. One looks more like Doom, but does not fit with the overall aesthetic. The other fits with the aesthetic but the colors are so muted the tone becomes dull.

That would be the Diablo 3 unveling back in the day. I was one of the dorks raging against Blizzard for injecting the WoW aesthetic into Diablo. Oddly enough, that was a case of a dev trying to make a dark and gritty game into something full of pastel textures and goofier enemies; so the precise opposite of this thread.
If this were color corrected... Perfection
