Had a great 75 minute match against some gaffers last night. We got stomped at the end but it was still a blast. My biggest problem is that I have no idea what to do with my gold. I just end up buying tp scroll, blink dagger, and whatever looks like it might be the best armor and attack item.

What hero were you playing?

Clinkz is the most booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring hero ever. Went 5-3-8 for my first game, and hopefully my last.

I was playing as Ax.

Take mid lane, prioritise W and E, taunt is not really necessary, let the opponent kill all your creeps, ideally you want the lane to be around the stairs area, hit him with W, run behind his creeps, don't let him attack anything. Most heroes are down in 2/3 furies. Buy arcane boots, blink dagger, sheepstick. You are now strength caster axe. You're awful late game, but axe is always awful late game, this way you can at least disable a carry.g

Don't go mid on axe, he loses for free to every ranged against competent players.

I officially like Drow.

My n0bb impressions: she's mighty damn soft in the beginning...but shit gets real when she gets to level 7 and maxes out dem frosties/Aura.

Advice request! With regard to her mid/late major items, I usually buy (in order):

1.) Power Boots
2.) Build to Shadow Blade
3.) Something with lifesteal (Dom helmet or Morbid Mask)
4.) Build to Crystalis
5.) Build to Manta Style
6.) Build to Dadelus if there's time/money.

Good/bad/ugly?

Also, I find that she's really reliant on teammates to finish players off (maybe most carries are?) so I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't go mid with her? I also think I make the mistake of initiating fights because I can sneak up on people with the Shadow Blade and get big damage off the first hit but getting killed by the unexpected teammate. I guess I'm just not sure how best to use the Shadow Blade. I tend to use it to escape more than anything else at the moment.

As for her skills, I usually build up either her arrows first (with silence second) or her aura first (with a mix of silence and stats mostly), depending on if I feel like slowing or going for max damage.

I've only played like 10 games with her or so (and never played Dota1), so consider me the essence of n00bishness. I've mostly had success with her, only getting into real trouble when I'm not paying attention and have been out-leveled...or when I don't know the other character's abilities, so as to know what to look out for (which is often). It's rare that I ever end up below .500 in my k/d ratio, and half of my deaths at this point in my gaming come from simply not knowing what the enemy heroes can do (who has stun, who doesn't, who has a major slow move, etc.) and consequently when to best time the silence, or who to silence when I have to make a choice. Otherwise, things are going swimmingly. I think I went 17/0/12 in one match last night.

thanks, guys.

Why max out Frost Arrow and buy a Lifeleech item that early? They don't stack, you don't leech life while having Frost Arrow enabled.

How many matches did some of you play until you felt like you were, while maybe not competent at the game, but not a detriment to the team?

I've played around 135 matches so far, and I still can't help but feel that at times, you can seriously be a burden to the team. Though you wont nearly be as bad as when you started, you ALWAYS have to stay aware of your surroundings and learn your limits. What I mean by that is learn when you should initiate, and when you should back off. You should also know when to roam or when to stay and your lane, or even when you can save a teammate without getting both of yourself killed.

I had no idea they didn't stack. In the future, I'LLC only pick up lifesteal if I plan on upgrading silence and aura and using frost very little.

Anything else? Looks okay otherwise?

Skip the shadow blade, get manta earlier.

Alrightey. I must admit, I have no idea how to control the mirror images yet. Well, outside of manually clicking each image and click-moving it. Just haven't spent enough time on it, mostly just appreciating the passive bonuses. I can see how beneficial they will be, but just haven't Goren into the micromanaging aspect yet.

Well even so it should keep you in the lane. I would recommend life steal on her since she does need it.

Well dom helmet or morbid mask won't stack with Frost Arrows since they're all Unique Attack Modifier (also known as orb effects)

The only lifesteal item that will stack is Vlad's. Not saying that it's a good item for Drow (since I've never played Drow) but it's not a UAM.

Most Drows I see get Helm of the Dominator. You shouldn't be using Frost Arrows all the time, anyway. Only use it to reapply the slow effect. Or so I've read. I find Drow utterly boring so I don't play her ever.

Just click-drag the mouse to select you and your images and focus on whatever target.

Activate it when you've got a debuff on you, as it will remove said debuff. Use it to push towers. Use it to dodge some skills. All of those are relatively easy. Beyond that, you can also use it to trick the enemy - mind games and whatnot. Press C (by default, I think, although I might've changed it to that myself) to select your actual hero and get out if you need to.

Anyone see the EG vs Problem match?

Haha that's what you call an unexpected win. The comments on JoinDota prior to the match were hilarious.

I've seen people argue before that Omniknight should be played as a carry before. Is this true? I always thought he was hard support. Their argument for it is that he has built in BKB, and that Ult can really help him too.

They get helm to stack Ancients, not for lifesteal.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. Whoops.

I've seen more than one Omniknight get a Radiance, but... those were always stomps, not real games.

He is like Dazzle in that he is a support that wants lots of farm cause he needs levels because all his abilities are good and he'll get focused in teamfights cause of those abilities. but no you dont build as a carry.

You can, though. His heal is also a fantastic nuke all game long, his aura makes it so that nobody can outrun you(unless it's invoker), and yeah a built-in BKB.

Carry Omniknight doable? Definitively. Viable? Heavily depends on the rest of your team.
