Does Dota 2 have voice chat? I couldn't tell, but I'm sure if the guys had mics on my team, this is all I would have heard.

I may not be great at Dota 2, and I may not even be good, but I like to have a fun time. Not really possible with people chatting with me saying I'm trash.

It does, but in public matchmaking games I more often see people ask how to use the mic after they hear me using it.

When I saw them pick DK, Lich and AM I was ready for a loss.

Thankfully, their entire team was shit.

(BH is fun. I realized going Shield -> Bottle -> Stick set me back pretty far, next time I"ll just get one or two of the three. Also, made the mistake of leveling Jinada before Shadow Walk. Those 15 seconds are harsh man.)

Had to play support viper because our Dazzle didnt speak english and didnt buy wards or courier
whats up with that

Played support Dragon Knight last night so it's not all that uncommon in pubs. Wards, Gem, Courier.

Even still I do like that you have to buy the courier. If one team doesn't have it they are in a disadvantage and that's how it should be. If you hate (like me) pubs where even Dazzle's think they are hard carries you should come to NeoGAF and play with gaffers. Makes things much more enjoyable.

Edit: Why go Battle Fury on Gondar if your team doesn't need a carry? I much more prefer Deso on him because you're always ganking so no need for BF. If your team lacks a carry and you have to step up BF can be good to increase your farm.
Preference I guess..

Just to note I love how now every pub game has a Riki and Gondar one the same team.

Until someone start to bitching about other players' skill level.

It's actually strange if someone buys wards or a courier in pubs. No wonder, people give them shit for not having items. No one seems to notice the map is lit, dude why aren't you melting face with us?

Played my first game without BH, great team as well. We had a dude with a mic so he kept things rolling smoothly, everyone else wrote english in the chat too. Probably my most pleasant game of DOTA2. :)

Almost as detrimental to a game is having people picking an non-supporter, but failing to acquire any gold still gunning for that expensive item. If you have a rough game as a Dragon Knight or Skeleton King, you're better off just getting support items and having wards up then still try to recouperate by saving up for a bkb and whatnot.

funny thing is we were playing against gaffers randomly

Finally got around to finishing watching the VOD for Game 3 of The Clash grand finals.

Holy. Shit. I'm going to have to give that a minimum of 2 or 3 rewatches, there's so much going on and so much to examine.

Tobi Wan sounded like a man of 90 by the end of it, haha

Anyone have a good site where a noob like me can find guide for become a little less ''useless'' lol

This is a good site, from the last few pages you should have fathomed that you should pick a carry, some one easy like Drow Ranger. Don't go support, you will cost your team the game. Report back to us.

Can anyone help me out with the Drow?

I had a hard time figuring out what to buy for her. What would be the essential items to first get?

Treads -> Helm of Dominator -> Yasha -> Now you have a choice;

1. Black King Bar ( If your losing )
2. Manta Style ( If your winning )

After getting both those, get a Satanic, or Daedalus.

However, if your new to the game, you should avoid Drow and play Viper instead.

Also case in point, no one reads that OP

Sheeshed missed those blue links. Pardon me for that then, but I'm really just jumping into any class right now, and it's a bit easier if someone nudges me in the right direction :P

Anyways, thanks a bunch. Will read the OP from top to bottom (in an alternate universe)
I kid

Edit: Viper wasn't in the OP.

I would highly suggest skipping Drow and playing Viper instead, he's a lot easier to play and kind of plays in a similar way, Drow's pretty difficult, especially if your new, she has no escapes and no defensive abilities other then using Frost Arrows to kite, Viper on the other hand has Corrosive Skin to help you live a little.

As for the OP comment, I was just fucking around, don't take it seriously. I'm an asshole and make fun of people any chance I get. Just ask Archie.
it's because the op is too long, that's why! should be one paragraph long, tops!
:>, go write me some guides for every hero that's come out.

Vipers animation is also a lot easier to last hit with. Drow has a lot of start up and you're going to miss a lot of last hits before you turn 6.

Is there a trick to getting a microphone working in-game? I have it enabled in the sound options with volume turned all the way up, but when I push the button for voice chat (, by deafult, later changed to mouse4) nothing happens, not even the little chat bubble appearing. Am I missing something?

Figured it out, was some weird hardware issue where the mic would disappear if the headphones were plugged in after them. Had to unplug and re-plug both of them a few times before I got the right sequence.

not to mention that drow's attack animation is longer than viper in the beginning and that she is more squishy than viper

I think a good Lich could easily carry the game so I don't know what you're all talking about.

He plateaus. He can be an absolute beast early and mid game... but I've always found he is a lot less useful late game (and that's even with scepter -- which I would only DREAM of getting if you happened to take a lot of early kills). I've found myself with a quick 6/7 kills early when things are going really well... and then the choice on how to build him needs to be made.

His armor, however, is truly game changing late game. Mek can be viable and opening with a well placed ult... vital. Carry? I mean it's possible in these pubs... but I think once the game gets rolling you'll find he's much better to provide support with.

I found a guide for death prophet and i try it on AI. This character is really easy for a noob. I really like it. Now i know which item i have to buy with her.

Haly, how did you end the game with 52 last hits with a Battle Fury?
I was top with Sniper, and I gave him all of the last hits. Spent most of my time running around scouting.

I'm not sure why I got Bfury. Derp moment I guess.

Just got into the beta.

So, I come from a heavy lol background with almost no DOTA1. Having a hard time last hitting but heh.

So far, I've tried Skeleton King and hes incredibly boring. 3 passive with one active is kind of a boring hero to play.

Any hero that anyone would recommend for a newbie at DOTA 2 but not at MOBAs in general?

Windrunner is pretty LoL-like.

Yeah, just play any hero neki plays, should be ez.

On a more serious note, like people have been suggesting every page: noob heroes = crystal maiden, lich, vengeful spirit, and co. Swag just put this at the top of the OP or something lol.
