I keep losing that reddit link and join dota's side bar seems to be incomplete as of now.

Anyone have a time schedule for tomorrow? I have to plan some stuff out so I can watch it.

One dumb fucking death as Lone Druid screws up my WHOLE FUCKING GAME. I had to resummon bear and died shortly after so I end up going something like 1/9 because of it, and every time after that I had no bear when I was back up. It's fucking frustrating.

You won't find any sympathy. You picked Sylla.

Sylla is fun, sometimes its better to send bear back to heal and then have him teleport back, especially when you're just free farming, or stacking pull camp if you're jungling.

It was about to die though. I had no choice or I was eating that nuke from the bear death.

I like Fear's personality but me wanting to see EG going to TI3 was partly due to my anticipation of Maelk vs Hyhy rivalry. Since Hyhy jumped to LoL which provides a salary of at least $2.5k a month by Garena and Maelk retiring before Western Qualifier, I lost all interest. I think the record is 3:2 now in Hyhy favor and I always assume Hyhy will be back for TI3 before the teams are announced. Too bad.

Game advantages are just as bad in my opinion.

They work better when its flat out games, and not sets. Each team gets knocked out on their second loss, so the Winner of the Winner bracket would not have lost a game yet, while the winner of the loser bracket would have lost one game. Then, the finals can be upto 2 games, since the Upper player hasn't lost a game yet and would need to lose twice to be knocked out.

But in this kind of thing, where its sets, I prefer no game advantages.

hmm.

I just ran a test and it's pretty conclusive that 1920x1200 gives you *less* in-game map (FOV) to see at once than 1920x1080 does.

It's not an insignificant amount. As pictured below

Instead, those with the higher resolution see the game slightly zoomed in so that what you see vertically is the same at the 1920 crowd, at the expense of width. Anyone know why this decision was made? Because it sucks.

I just had my biggest comeback playing DOTA. My team was awful, and we were pushed all the way to our fountain. The other team had 15 more kills, our barracks was down. Our towers in front of our ancients were both half health each. It was GG everywhere.

Then suddenly, we won ONE team battle. Then we won another. And then we kept just farming and waiting for them to try again. And we kept winning team battles every time they attempted another final push, until we all were so farmed - we just pushed and took out their barracks and then their ancient.

It was insane. I think it was a combination of our tanks + weaver sitting on gold, and getting big items (Divine Rapier, Radiance). And it all just coming together. But the game was freaking awful up to that point, no one was communicating and we lost all our lanes.

Mainly since 16:9 has won the aspect ratio wars, and is the standard. They don't want people with Higher Resolution Monitors to be able to see more. There are really only three things you can do with a higher resolution, zoom out giving an advantage, zoom in giving a disadvantage, or put bars which will make people bitch.

Courier effects? HUD?
edit: nope

It was insane. I have no idea how we pulled it off.

Support heroes are much stronger early game, then carries get better simply by leveling up. If you win a late game fight you also get a lot more gold/exp especially if they were on streaks. Then towers all become gold.

I see. I guess I won't miss what I haven't had. Seems like there would have been a better solution than cutting off so much. That's a significant amount of screen lost. Not necessarily enough to compromise your ability to fight, but definitely enough to compromise being able to follow someone successfully in a distant chase.

courier effects stopped working? as far as I've noticed, my rosh never stopped farting solid gold.

Holy shit those payouts for Mouz. Wish I had seen that before the betting cutoff. If they win, the people who bet on them are going to be PAID.

No one got anything, the betting started after the drafts were happening, all items were refunded.

Thanks for that. :)

I'm still only a month and a half new to this. Always learning something every day. I just think it's funny how my entire team was complaining and saying GG over and over.

And then we won. I wish people wouldn't give up so early.

You could put the game in 16:9 and see if you like it any better.

Wow, that sucks. I'm on a 16:10 2560x1600p monitor. =/

Watching the replays from the qualifiers is really making me aware of how little I know about this game. I'm about 100 hours of playtime in and I'm learning so much from watching these. I'm seeing these teams pick heroes that I had written off and many of the heroes I'm seeing frequently in the matches I've only seen once or twice in my time playing. Even simple things such as proper item use I'm learning a lot about. This is such a great game.

Seems like the current patch the pushed out is not the Test Client Patch from last night, it lacks the 6 broadcaster slots and updated text strings for some items.

Well, it was shown off eariler, but I didn't know you made it.

Do you also get a free ticket to the Premier League?

Also hope we can chose the style, I like parts of the second version more then the third.

Does carry Vengeful Spirit ever work? It seems to be the way most players in PUBs play her... and I've never seen it work in my 900+ games of DOTA 2. You'd figure people would learn.
