I guess for me it depends on my role.

I dont really mind not getting kills when I am playing a support role, I usually try to avoid getting the last hit when I am support and the carry is next to me or close to the target. But if I am playing Carry and I see some idiot range support constantly doing his hardest to get every kill it gets me mad.
Totally agree.

When I play a support like Lion I step the hell back and SUPPORT. I don't care if I end up with 0 kills. As long as I help my team.

When I'm playing as a carry and Witch Doctor is taking more kills and last hits, it can be annoying.

Do you guys think that there would be a market for BTS to re-air their broadcast? I'm interested in their coverage of the Eastern Quals but it's going on in the middle of the night here..

It is normal I didn't get the valor HUD skin? According to the ads you get when searching a game I'm supposed to get it since I have a compendium but it's not in my inventory.

So my PC mic/headphones broke. Can anyone suggest a decent pair that's under $100.
Get some decent headphones and a ModMic to attach to it from modmic.com.

Fuck all headsets. Absolutely horrible comfort and sound quality. If you need decent headphone suggestions for under $80, visit the OT headphone thread.

Logitech G35 is a good choice

I would say no to that, I got horrible static problems with mine. Random blips of EXTREMELY loud static that hurt my ears to the point I had to rip the set off of my head. Switched to Steelseries Siberia V2s and I'm enjoying life much more.

I have some Siberias and they're alright, find they get pretty uncomfortable after awhile.

Really, the only time I get upset at a kill steal is making use of a long cooldown spell to make it happen. Zeus, don't use your ult just to make sure you get the kill, use it near the start of the fight, it will show other units position. Lina, don't use your ult to kill the 100 HP unit at melee range, dragon slave it.

In most fights, the only goal is to make sure the other team dies and your team doesn't, who gets the killing blow doesn't make much difference.

the worst killsteals are when you have some dude lined up in a necrolyte ult , and there are still a bunch of other enemy heroes that need to be taken out

Yes! The guy has 200/1500 HP, let my damn ult kill them so I get my damn mana back.

I wish D2Lounge reconfigured their betting system so it would be open up to 1-2 minutes after picks have been made and players known.

I mean, Na'Vi is not as good if Dendi is missing, so less people would bet on them. Similarly, QPAD is not as bad when Select is missing, so you'd have more reason to bet on them.

He's been gone for 2-3 games now and QPAD are magically better-ish. The odds wouldn't be so stupid if everyone had proper information to bet with.

Listen to this man, most gaming headsets are not comfortable.

I have a desktop mic and a pair of Audio Technica AD-700s

Most comfortable phones ive ever had. Theyre the best for gaming, especially since i play a shit load of FPSs.

If you need help go to HEAD-FI.

This GD show is hilarious again. I think the Dota 2 segment has been more about food than actual Dota at this point haha.

James ripping Sirscoots up, scoots mad in chat, so funny.

Is GAF shitting the bed for anyone else today? I can barely navigate without having content error and server connection issues.

Anyway, I just watched the LGD.cn vs Dreamz - Game 2 that everyone was talking about yesterday. Lmao.

Yep it's cuz of the XBOX 11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111

Also holy shit Visage is popular in the east based off the TI3 qualifiers and Super League. Kinda shocked.

Guys is that dota bot in the OP an older build or something? I installed what I thought was dota (it said I already owned the game) but it just seems to be a spectator client. Followed the guide there and got it gifted to me, but I'm not sure if it's outdated and if there's a newer bot, etc.

Nope, the bot works fine. Everyone gets the spectator client for free but you need to use the dota 2 invite to play the actual game.

missed out on it what happend?

There are two clients for Dota.

I think, after playing dota for around 50 hours (of human vs bot matches) now, I just had the first game where I think I did "decently".

Played as sven. Laned with a Razor. Early game was me AoE stunning the two bots and then us pouncing on them and killing them. Eventually got stronger and actually managed to buy a lot of items from the build (treads, bkb, leech helm etc.) Also kept dying to a minimum.

I must say this is getting more fun and fun by the game.

Still quite a few games away from human vs human matches though...

Don't stall too much on that. Get together with some GAF members and let them carry you through a match.

Unless of course your first match ever is with Forkball and SteveWinwood. Thanks a lot guys.

Also, lol @ my third match ever. I remember thinking Shadow Demon was the most amazing int carry ever. I got like 8 kills right off the bat with Disruption alone. And look at those items on everyone.

Just got my new mousepad, went with the hard plastic steelseries one.

It feels like I'm getting a sweet massage by a sexy brazilian professional.

You should play vs humans.

A) A lot of humans are worse than Easy bots, so don't worry.
B) Humans play differently, bots are the same every game.

Bots are useful to learn 'how to play' Dota (i.e., learn about the basic fundamentals and mechanics) without pissing people off in MM. They continue to be useful for playing with new heroes that you haven't used yet in order to test their style and builds.

However, once you understand the very basics of the game, you will inevitably start learning bad habits because bots don't change their behavior and you can get a sense of complacency with style. You're never going to run into 90% of opponent behaviors in a bot game, and those behaviors are Dota.

I enjoy bot games still (I'm level 3), but I am finding that playing against people is both more helpful from a meta-learning perspective, and much more rewarding when I actually win.

Wow, those item choices are truly amazing; I can't even choose a favorite. The Battle Fury Gyrocopter? The Spirit Breaker with no boots? The Maelstrom + Mask of Madness Keeper of the Light?

The Enchantress with no items after a 50 minute game must have been a disconnect... right?

Hot damn.
