So how many preliminary games are you guys planning on watching? Ill probably be mostly watching at work on twitch during the week and just leave it on autospectate the rest of the time for those sweet sweet drops and courier views

Yea I was gonna say, if you want to gamble, there are gambles you can make at dota2lounge.com that give you significantly better odds (though not for that guy, apparently). Or, bet on sports through Vegas or your local racetrack. Or hell, I'm sure there's a casino nearby. All give significantly better odds that Dota2/TF2 box opening.

I'm pretty sure casinos would go out of business overnight if odds of winning dropped to 1%.

Is there a preferable way to watch? I'd like to watch with commentary if possible. Do I do that through Twitch or through the DOTA 2 client? I've got Twitch tied to Steam, if that makes any difference.

Both offer commentary, if you want to watch through DOTA 2 you have the option of diverging away from the observing camera and still have the audio while you explore the rest of the game, while in Twitch you can participate in the wonderful chat.

The Dota2 in-game client will *always* be the best way to watch. It allows you to control the camera, the choose which casters you want to hear, and access all of the game-related information (items currently bought, income, net worth, team xp/gpm graphs, etc.)

Depends if the in-game client is stable enough for the first game. The first few hours during the western qualifiers were pretty hectic in-game so had to watch it through twitchtv. Personal preference and theres commentary in-game btw

Not to mention visual quality and chat channels. The only positive for Twitch in my opinion is the content the casters might have outside of the game, so I keep it open on the side for in between matches.

I have to watch via twitch because im on vacation currently and this laptop isn't the prettiest thing to watch DOTA 2 on. those low graphics...

Guys, is dota2warehouse the one with the 1:1 dota cards trade ?

My friend gave me like 40 player cards with different teams but no rattlesnake and fnatic. lol

Not really. Dota2WH will buy the cards for like 70% of the value, and you can trade in other items for points to get the cards easily.

Also, how do you know what player you already stamped ?

Doesn't matter what I have lying around, Dota2WH refuses to accept it :(. Overstock overstock overstock. Only 30 cards to go!!

either double-clicking said card and it giving you the error window or flipping through your compendium and seeing which faces are lit up

Any reason to buy a compendium at this point? They're like $8 on the marketplace. Would selling the immortal and the courier basically make it pay for itself, even if I'm way late on the EXP bonus?

Just realized I need one to get potential drops while watching lol.
