Am I right in thinking buying just a bottle straight up with nothing else, at the start, as a mid, is the wrong thing to do? You should get stuff like regen/branches to boost your initial stats and then courier it asap.

My buddy keeps doing it then when he gets harassed out of lane wonders why :S

In trench tier bottle first is acceptable - the courier has a high chance of dying, being used by non-mid, and not upgraded.

edit: Actually, I agree with 109. Freakinchair is probably the best dota player on all of neogaf right now, and a great teacher. He's very versatile, and also an amazing hard carry player that has mastered farming the easy and medium camps at all stages in the game.

I don't get people who rage and get super salty in this game.

Just did an inhouse with a few unknown players I assumed would be friendly like our commons friends, and they turn out to be like...horrible. Rage from minute one, blame other people, ragequit and everything...needless to say I'm gonna stay away from inhousing with them again.

I did not utter one word, but I cannot help but feel inner rage/disgust at the moment. I was having a perfectly fine day until that dose of negativity.

Stay zen, people. Jeez.

Ended up throwing down for the new Rubick set/ Starladder ticket bundle. Set actually looks pretty nice besides the condom helm. Good think it somewhat goes away after 40-80 match views.

I like the Helm, but the second version is my favorite. For the staff, I think I am going to keep to my Aghs Scepter.

I don't know a single thing about 3D modeling but I designed a courier for fun. I think couriers are one of the best parts about Dota. :) A lot of people design really neat ones.

Holy shit. I'm over at my friends house and played a round of dota on his account, and I wish he had the sharing feature enabled. I just went 28-1 with Bloodseeker in a random draft, game was 30 minutes long. Worst part is, I died 40 seconds before the game ended because I greedily dove into their fountain to kill an alchemist. Thought the health regen from the kill would be enough to tank me outta the super tower.

Is there any way to watch that again if I don't have the sharing enabled? It should show up in my match history, right?

He's easily my favorite hero. His sustain in lane is ridiculous if you have a decent support. Rubick was great for me, set up with the throws a few times and I totally snowballed. I yearn for the day we see him played competitively because it would be so much fun to watch a pro with him.

Then earlier today before dinner I played my second match with Timbersaw. Game lasted for 74 minutes and was intense as hell. Was against a BH, Jakiro, Weaver, lock, and morph. They all super carried and destroyed our towers within 20 minutes. Team was about to give up but we won a team fight, I really learned how to use chakra, and holy shit things flew off. Furious clashes, eventually I had to defend base against weaver while the rest of the team pushed. Bought sentries, assured victory in the final dramatic push. Both of our teams had absolutely ridiculous items haha. So much fun today with doto.

How are some people lev 30-50 so bad? They'll sit in jungle and farm nearly the entire game and blame everyone but themselves for the team losing.

I think I'm gonna play Venomancer as carry from here on out. Was playing him support when I realize our huskar at top was 0-7 by 10 minutes in. Left wards lvl 1 and had gale maxed. Holy hell, give venom ags scepter, S&Y, shadow blade, and orchid and watch the other team melt. Wound up 22-11 that game and successfully carried a Huskar that was 4-17

This really goes against what I thought was the spirit of PAX. To exclude a community from playing what they want just because a competitor paid some money is a bit messed up. Also probably deserves a thread of its own.
