love it
so what goes through the mind of people who go linkens as a first item ? esp against heroes that can spam disable it (hello PA)
aint nothin but a heartaaacche
i honestly can't believe that my parents' isp are getting away with charging them like $50 a month for a 10GB data cap on a 10mb connection that is so cruddy that i get lag spikes in every game of dota that i play
it's practically criminal
This is the exact opposite in my view; I think CSGO production/casting/panels are on a whole different level compared to dota. It's like kiddie pool versus the country club gentlemen pool whole nother level.
Dota panels are still headed by people that seem uncomfortable around each other (or just socially awkward) and you end up with flat jokes, awkward pauses, and a 50 year old British man trying frantically to patch things up (and Blitz/Purge). CSGO crews always seems like everyone knows everyonelike they are all bros and it leads to seamless conversation, interesting analysis, and only two pairs of casters with both the voices and know-how to cast (that particular game). Not to mention the hilarious little panel skits and closing ceremonies to keep things light-hearted (i.e. throwing cake in the faces of the analysts who predicted wrongly).
beating people who trash talk me is the only fun i have in dota

The CS guys are just 10x more entertaining in my book (and everything seems much more professionally done despite their conduct outside of the job); from watching and playing both games for quite awhile.

also they should refer to each other by their actual human names and not their digital epsorts names
I think the first step in having dota casters and panelists not look like man-children is that they should buy suits and shirts that fit. Also, button up your shirts. LD looks like a fucking clown in his 2 sizes too big suit. Godz wears flipflops and shit...
Maybe wearing suits makes everything worse tho because they are not used to wearing in dress so they become even more awkward. One thing I noticed tho is that they tend to look at each other when they talk and then the camera briefly, whereas what ive noticed from news/sports news is that they generally look at the camera and then at their partner(s) briefly to give them queues.
And Nahaz bullshits to fill airtime waaaayyyy to much. "OG is the closest team in the tournament, they do everything together" HOW tHE FUCk U KNOW tHAT OTHER TEAMS DONT? OR THA THTEY EVEN DO. Why can't they just commentate on what they know and not just pull shit out their ass that sounds good.
They went to Macy's to buy their clothes at TI5. But srsly Valve needs to reach out to a tailor and get that shit on point.I think the first step in having dota casters and panelists not look like man-children is that they should buy suits and shirts that fit. The whole "suits" thing is so fucking weird. It fits with a very American view of what sports casters should look like and frankly it looks fucking ridiculous. Many of the casters look downright uncomfortable in their suits. Instead of trying to force this kind of formality, I think they'd be better off with a format closer to, for example Match of the Day. Get rid of the desk, get rid of the suits, and have people who are more casual and more comfortable. The Dreamleague show was actually a good step in the right direction, IMO, especially with its attempts to do some rather more meaningful analysis using the giant tablet thing.I think the first step in having dota casters and panelists not look like man-children is that they should buy suits and shirts that fit. It really shows in the noob casters who will literally play-by-play jungle farmingI feel like DOTA has some sort of obsession with play-by-play casting and we're all worse off for it. Sure the game isn't great at conveying what's going on to the uninitiated, but it feels so much like commentary for commentary's sake and none of the SC2/FGC/Hearthstone events I've watched ever bothered with that. There would be long stretches of silence in those matches even though the games are much faster paced than DOTA, because the commentators know that if they have nothing interesting to say there's no reason to say it.

One of the major problems though is if you are working weird hours with stress weight is not going to be stable. I mean Tobe used to be slim, now he's obese.

Elite Dangerous is pretty fucking good.
Reminds me of playing TIE Fighter years and years ago, but with a lot of depth to dip into. No "bored to death" vibe of EVE Online.

agree re: real names
grats on trying to quit (again) toobs
I always found that some casters have too many inside joke commentary not related to the game or what the general public knows.
I never want to hear another dota personality say the word "savage"
dota needs more emotional casters like james chen
tobi and odpixel and synderen are good but two of them are shoutcasters and only one has the know-how to be an analytical caster
overall pretty hard to be a good caster at dota, the knowledge base required is absolutely immense in addition to the need to have an engaging and entertaining personality as well. else you just end up turning into an LD. dota players are freaking ruthless, i know i tear apart casters as soon as i detect a poor analysis or bad call by them

league casting is a step above, unsurprisingly
I think that llamadownunder girl is going to be fast-tracked to a big studio. It can't be an all white male production with 3 merlinis
honestly shes not a very good caster at all atm, people complain about tobi's accent but llamagirl's is actually much worse
im not saying she can't potentially become a good caster, but people saying 'llamadownunder should be casting bigger events its so refreshing cu shes a girl lol' are actually just being sexist.
