I wanna see it in game.

Also, idunno. Buying non-immortal Genuine items at that price seems patently absurd to me.

I'm actually fairly uncertain about it - I have the market page open on a second monitor at all times. If I get rid of it today I think I'll make $12. Should probably cut my losses asap.

The only way it goes down this week is if the release a normal version of it.

For example:

The gigantic drop corresponds with the release of a non-genuine version. It went from a peak of over $65 to a low of $20 (now up in the mid $20's). But until that happened, it was steadily ~$45-$50.

Problem is, we never know when Valve is going to release non-genuine versions of items. What I will say in the case of this Void hat is that based on its history, it probably won't go *up*. So if you're looking to make max money from it, I agree that now is probably a good time to move it. Usually during daylight hours for Western markets.

^ FUCKING YESSSSSSSSS.

Hey guys, I have a conceptual question about Phantom Assassin.

Short story: I don't play much PA at all. Maybe a dozen matches since she came out. I decided to play her last night because...hell, I dunno why. I just felt like it. Naturally, as punishment for my random decisions, I end up safe lane with Mirana vs a tri-lane of Sven + ES + Disruptor.

okay.jpg

So as expected, I have about 10cs @ 10 minutes, mostly off the back of Q spam. I was fortunate enough to have a CM on the team who put a point in the passive which helped, but shit was hard. Offlane Brood and mid Viper were able to take their towers and get a couple of kills which helped the gold income and with 1 or 2 kills, I had a BFury up at around 17 minutes. With the cleave and mana regen, I was able to perma-spam PA's W steroid and clear the entire jungle repeatedly in under a minute, then rotate to the empty lane and do the same. 4 minutes later, BKB was up. 4 or 5 minutes after that, AC was up. Results from the game itself can be seen here:

So my question is...what makes Battlefury a dismissive purchase on PA? I feel like the cleave and mana regen in conjunction with PA's passive and steroid greatly accelerate her jungle clear times and consequently, her ability to get items in her inventory. I know Drums --> BKB is usually more popular, but neither really pumps up her farming speeds. I also realize that the later build can be obtained faster and allows her to team fight a little more in the 10-20 minute range of game time.

Is it just a matter of the style of midgame you want to play, or is the item a blanket "do not buy"? Or is it a fine purchase?

Battlefury is still good, and it's picked up a lot in official pro matches for PA (see Envy and RTZ on her). However, the stigma evolved from pubs trying to rush one in tough lanes and being worthless 25 mins in. You need to get it quick. As for the midgame build, drums ain't it. Drums is pretty bad on PA imo, as much as Drums can be bad anyway. You want lifesteal, so Vlads BKB or Helm BKB. Then it's whatevs, I go basher, some go AC like you did, some like Deso. Also consider that if you are the main carry, then taking it late against natural MKB carriers like Gyro or Weaver is dumb. PA has god awful strength gain so without her evasion physical damage can wreck her.

I agree with that. Isn't he #1 in MMR on the Euro ladder? That does mean something. He may be a bit rough around the edges, but his skill is clearly there and I can't imagine many identifiable players having a higher upside than he may be capable of. Some struggle was to be expected eventually, as playing organized, competitive Doto is different than pubs...but again, I think it's fair to say we haven't seen what he's fully capable of.

The one thing I'm hesitant about with him being #1 is that he specialises in Meepo and Tinker, with some Tiny and Lycan thrown in going by his Dotabuff history. Meepo is known by the majority of pros to be the best hero currently for winning solo queue ranked, and Tinker is not far behind. He's good, and could be pro, but I don't think he's ready for a team with the ambition of EG. As for Black, whilst he's a great player, he's also very much a 1 carry. He takes farm priority in the teams he plays with. That would just not work with EG as the team is built around RTZ being the 1.

C9 made a really dumb mistake with that level 1 rosh but they should be pretty happy considering that besides newbee they're the only team that didn't get completely humiliated on vici's way to the final.

Agreed. They have a 2-2 record against Vici at TI. And if they hadn't tried the level 1 rosh, which was a spur of the moment decision anyway when they picked Luna last, which was only because Morph was last banned, then they might have won that game too.

Yeah I have followed a few of the genuine promo items before. Just listed it - think I'd rather spend that on the next couple chests for several heroes than have one somewhat unique void head.

BKB stops a ton of magic effects, largely disables, and has diminishing returns as well as a steep investment. It's not common for 5 players to all go for BKB, only certain heroes that benefit from a single stun ruining their day or hard carries which are intended to farm. There's also the fact that BKB is a counter to those heroes, AoE physical damage abilities don't really have a counter, and popping BKB doesn't increase the amount of physical damage you take or render you useless. Pop a Ghost Scepter against a Krob in a team fight and any magic damage will destroy you just as badly if not worse, which means Krob and say a Lion put you between a rock and a hard place.

The thing is, BKB is a steep investment that you have to get against as you say, a stable of disables and burst damage. But Krob's ulti completely ignores that, and even with 0 disables on her team they can wreck you since just her presence does pretty massive amounts of damage. This is all not even factoring in the other heroes on her team.

1,600 gold is quite a bit for a support considering her peak effectiveness is early-mid game. There's a reason supports don't rush things like Ghost Scepters and they are considered a luxury item, that 1600 gold can be put to better use.

Why, exactly, do you think DP needs to be nerfed?

Contrary to what you claimed, she was hardly pick/banned every game at TI4. Her winrate is damn near 50%.

But she was banned every game in the grand finals and a lot in top 8 games.

Also I think most them loses were teams trying to emulate Chinese teams and failing miserably.

All these DP stats are misconceptions, in the right hands she's really strong but a team that sucks just fails which proves that she is balanced and strong top tier hero that requires skill and good teammates.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
GF and I made themed ice cream for a GrandFinale viewing party on Monday. Really Radiant Lime & Dire Dark Chocolate.

How the hell am I supposed to watch 200 singsong games for this courier?? I'm at 30 and I've run out of games. Doesn't seem like anything before 2014 counts for some bizarre reason.
