Tomorrow we’ll release the 7.00 Update web page detailing all of the changes coming to the world of Dota, giving you a head start on learning all the info you’ll need to adjust to the new shape of battle.

The new update will be available on the Dota 2 Test client once the web page has launched, and on Monday, December 12, the 7.00 Update will go live to the world. Your clash for the Ancients will never be the same.

If you play DOTA or have played DOTA this new patch is apparently a doozie (hashtag gamechanger) that is both absolutely titanic in size and revolutionary in it's changes. It has been almost 6 months that we have been stuck on 6.88 with minor balances. Bigger changes have been intentionally delayed for the sake of TI6 and so that everything will drop with the introduction of the new Monkey King hero. Developer IceFrog has not released a new hero in a long time and the community is quite hungry for new playstyles and progression. Other games like LoL, HotS, and Overwatch seem to have regular hero releases.

Time to learn Dota all over again, it's nice to know the 1000 hours i put into this game were nothing more than a outdated tutorial.

This patch is being hyped so much that it will only end in disappointment.

Valve isn't going to drastically change a game that prints money.

Going away for work - mostly the next 2 days will be a train ride and a 2 hour meeting. Can't wait to see what they fuck up. If there's no Christmas event included I'm done I guess - tired of China pandering.

I was pumped by the arrival of a new hero.

I am now pumped because this patch might be the demise of the IceFrog, and the start of Dota2 as a clicker adventure.

buff/nerf bets?

the only things i'm certain off are nerfs to timbers*w and m*rana

buff phoenix please (new aghs thanks)

I don't play DOTA anymore but I'm curious how they plan to take away one man pubstomping. Isn't that just a facet of the game? How do you have a MOBA without carry heroes?

i don't think you can get rid of it entirely. my guess is that if it's true it'll be just a change to bounty gold.

Curious to see how they handle 21:9.

It can't be worse than what Blizzard did with Overwatch. Anything worse than what CS:GO has would be a let down.
Honestly, I'll be over the moon if they put in proper ultrawide support. I wouldn't mind getting back into the game if it looked good full-screen windowed.

What if the damage inflicted to opponents scales with the proximity of your teammates? If every teammate is alive but on the other side of the map, you would dish 50% less damage to opponents.

There exists a way to completely to erase one man pubstomping and grant huge benefits to teamplay.

I'm on a 4 month break from Dotes at the moment. Hoping the changes here pull me back in and generate that much-needed hype...before I start playing and continue to embarrass myself on the daily.

i mean this just DUMPSTERS some heroes (lycan, storm, tinker, fart warden, broodmother, off the top of my head).

This would cause so much collateral damage to ganking and split pushing there's no way you can feasibly implement it.

A good way to encourage team fighting I guess would be to provide additional gold if multiple heroes die in succession - although that is also flawed.

I don't really want a huge change of game structure just because the game is so fun and well balanced right now. I have faith in the icy toad to do what's good, though. Mostly I just want Jakiro buffs.

The meta's in an okay place right now, but the game has started to feel a bit stale again - I played a few matches after months of absence from the game and felt this. Holding out that New Journey brings some appeal back though!

Make your bets about what's going to appear in the changelog

-Batrider lasso range nerfed
-Treant Protector base damage increased
-Timbersaw players automatically get an abandon if they put more than 1 point on Reactive Armor before 20 minutes

Dota 10 v 10 is an awesome casual mode. It's too bad that they don't stop people from disconnecting and as such, the game is basically unplayable.

Very excited for the new patch. I've been bored for a while with this version and a new patch should shake things up and I'm not saying that just because I've been on a massive losing streak for a couple of weeks now T_T
