DOTA 2 v7.00: New Journey (Test Client Dec 11, Main Client Dec 12)

I hope they fix US east and the report system.

but i know they won't and will just add more hats + infusers

Can't wait.

Only been playing a game here or there but with the patch I'll jump back in and actually try to work on my MMR some...

this massive contradiction lmao

Techies isn't fun? My enemy is drained of all gold as they attempt to de-mine everything, I'm an absolute psychological menace in lane and in the overall game and if the game goes bad cause it's low skilled, I can still do things with my remote mines.

fuck, the change they did to the forest (new paths, removed/applied trees) pretty much made me struggle against other players since its changes. probably playing with bots will become a hassle too lol

I've been off of Dota pretty much this whole year and have been playing al the other games I own and that have come out, it's been great. Interested to try this out though and see what's changed and to see the new hero.

I feel it's overhype and they won't make such drastic changes to a game that is so successful.
I play Paragon fairly often and that game just got a big patch that pretty much changed the majority of the game aside from the heroes and what their abilities are. That game is still in early beta though and even still has gotten lots of backlash from their community that liked the game how it was and feel like it was ripped away from them. If that happened in Dota with huge changes the backlash could be 100x bigger.

Anyway interested in what they do change, but in the end it'll surely not deviate too far from what works.

if youd been playing dota for longer you would understand how many huge gamechanging things have happened in dota history

You sorta just proved his point.

Fun to play as? Sure if you know what you're doing.

Fun for the other 9 players in game? No.

Well I do have like 3000+ hours, it's why I had to stop. You're right it has changed a lot. But I feel it's never been a bunch of huge changes all at once, usually like 1 or 2 interesting changes in a patch that pile up into a lot of changes with all the patches.

Too much at once can alienate a fan base but idk you're probably right and the Dota community is too healthy to be ruined even by a lot of changes and they can probably do it a lot easier than something like Paragon that is still hard at work at even building a big community.

It's more that changes are actually healthy to the game. No matter how good the patch, the mentality in the dota community is definitely one that welcomes change that is properly paced out. This patch was really great but I think it slightly overstayed it's welcome.

As for never been a bunch of changes at once. Totally disagree the major numbered patches 6.xy are generally game changers like actually the game is just way different just by the nature of what you generally encounter in pubs, dunno to me every patch has been a different game that also played to different strengths. Like it's not just the heroes that are popular but my playstyle also changed a lot when I look back from the TI3 patch through sniper/troll to disco horse to now.

I will say though dota is the greatest for me with long breaks(1-2 months) in between. It's a nice game to return to and the best part of dota to me is learning anyway so I'm never really annoyed by my knowledge getting outpaced by the changes to the game.
It's the game I've just always come back to after getting a good dose of other type of games. It's also been a super fun way to keep in contact with friends.

I think he's fine as is.

I expect Mirana aghs nerf, that was poorly thought out. Beyond OP. Two nerfs not enough.

Agreed. Usually I'm pretty fine with frog balancing, but POTMs been in almost every game since the aghs buff and is almost always itemized the same way - shits boring.

As for SK, I'd like them to do something with sandstorm. Feels pretty useless now, only reason to get it is to dodge/for the invis. Though I love his play style of stun/blink in, get out with sandstorm dodging.

A shame that this game does not appeal to me, I tried several times but it's impossible to have fun with it :(

Hope the patch is awesome for you guys tho.

How much damage does that do to one single person? I forgot.

With aghs, 825.
Edit: Not including any magic resistance.

Extremely boring aghs, but it made her from trash to the best hero, maybe just behind timber.

SK, should stay the same. Sandstorm is kinda meh but it's great for in team fights.

I stopped playing Dota 2 this year. The community is just the fucking worst and it almost feels impossible to find a game where people don't act gross.

I wanna get excited for something like this but I doubt it'll fix my problem with the game and bring me back in. :/

It's even worse now, you get like one report a week

That hype website is just janky enough to make me believe that, while it will be a significant patch, this won't be a game changer.

But we will see.

Yea - I don't think aghs should be that. Like I'm fine if it's the go-to most of the time, but it's literally crazy damage, Fred lane-push, and amazing team fight all at the same time. Literally no reason to do anything but go that. Needs a rework to actually force a choice imo.

i kinda wish we can preserve the last version ala wc3 dota

icefrog please

Same. Wish we could save versions for custom games, but this might fracture the comp scene of it's anything like different Smash games.

looking back at heroes back then surely brings back memories.
radiance mid visage, avatar of vengeance bullshit 25% chance to bounce back laguna into ultra kill, raijin and that stupid barrier, rikimaru with a fucking death ward . invoker with 27 spells. jahrakal with 40% blind spam skill

god we came so far

edit : mortal strike on skeleton king. that shit was the stupidest mistake osfrog ever create

Since they announced back then it was called "The New Journey" my hype has been slowly increasing. What if the rumors about Icefrog stepping down are true? Maybe a campaign mode? A new stat? New "resource" like stamina?

Just stop.

A slot just for boots. A "pet" system. Rune system like LoL. Hero fusions where 2 players control the fusion of 2 heroes. Twitch chat integration, the more memes you get the better your RNG blessings. New level cap. You can now try and romance Roshan. Aside from destroying the enemy ancient there are now 3 new endings. You choose a faction at the beginning of each month, if your faction is at the lowest of the rankings your account resets your MMR.
