DOTA 2 v7.00: New Journey (Test Client Dec 11, Main Client Dec 12)

Is that is an in-joke, because it should be.

How Dota players really feel about LoL players:

That's a nice dream, but in my experience it's the other way around. A lot of League players don't even know what Dota is and outside of GAF if I talk to someone who plays League they talk about League. Every Dota player I've ever met can't wait to tell me how casual League is.

It's pretty sad actually.

Why can't people prefer a simpler version of the MOBA format that Dota 1 established? That's why I like playing League, it eliminates a lot of the stuff in Dota 2 that I, as a total newbie, don't like/properly understand.

So I got through to the blog page finally, and there's no patch notes. x.x

Edit: Lol, clicked updates to see if they'd put it in there instead and got an error.

If those perks come true, I'd be quite delighted. I think it's a really good idea and makes for a lot of new stuff to learn. The last patches were way too conservative for my taste. They basically all played alike.

Is 2016 Valve actually incapable of just releasing a polished, professionally made thing on time and without hiccups?

what would be so bad about talents, though?

not a serious dota player, but wouldn't that kind of give the meta game an additional complexity?

Hmm... Why do we need these 5, 10, 15, 20?
Items already acheive exactly this. And it's not like you can just restart your item progression until late late anyways.

If Valve does is this it would be because they want to make money less important and have Exp matter more.

It would add complexity, yes, but complexity isn't necessarily a good thing. It's depth that you want, and I'm not sure talent trees would add much in the way of depth.

To unlock one hero

Straight up false but I know you're just kidding :0

Half of these have -30sec Respawn. Yeah never gonna happen, might as well delete necro.

They re-worked him in the notes, he no longer disables buyback or increases respawn. That 2nd thing I might misremember though, was skimming. Defs no buyback tho.

The idea in and of itself isn't terrible, and maybe if implemented correctly could work, but many of them are ridiculous and would completely ruin the game.

Someone pointed out in here that Luna's Lucent Beam is a 1s stun nuke on a 6 second CD, and one of Luna's "talents" is -4s off Lucent Beam CD. a 1s stun on a 2s cooldown....lol

Medusa has one for giving her innate lifesteal, on a hero that has a split shot and has to typically buy survivability. These would be quite awful if they were real.

Lich: Free midas at level 20, OR, +150 right click damage.

Seems legit.

I wouldn't be against talents, but a bunch of these are just too OP.

That AM scepter idea is kinda cool though. Dunno if it'd ever be bought but it's a neat way to give him one.
