I'm just up to Lothering, and I have to say, I love this game. I think I'll be addicted to this for quite a while. The dialogue is often very, very bad though. I like the characters and all, but they're really doing all they can to make me not take them seriously. Everyone talks like they were written by a little kid thinking "this is how people talked in the middle ages". I mean, Morrigan was talking about her childhood, and how she once stole a ring off a cart or some such, and with a completely straight face she said something to the effect of "I ran from the cart, clutching the bauble to my chest in delight". I mean, what the fuck? Who talks like that? And her constant use of "'tis" instead of "it is"...:lol
I think it was Chris Remo who compared the dialogue in this game to the movie Amadeus, where the script writer purposefully wrote the characters to sound mostly like modern day people, with Mozart being particularly foul-mouthed, and only the emperor and his posse sounding more haughty and "olde". In Dragon Age, EVERYONE speaks like that, regardless of if it fits the character or not (in the case of Morrigan, the contrast between her personality and her manner of speaking is startling). Frankly, it comes across as completely bizarre and silly.
