So what happened?!? I thought it's a major breakout, secure a spot in RPG pantheon, true return of BioWare

This is what EA CEO said about this game:

What game reviewers said:

"....leaves no doubt about its place in The RPG PANTHEON"

wow!

"....The TRUE RETURN of BioWare"

So much bull 💩

I love the line from EA’s CEO about mainly making live service games. Like we should feel special that they made a single player game. A KOTOR remake would show you BioWare at its best. I bet their CEO doesn’t even play video games, let alone understand what makes them great.

People that baught it for the most part are finished and traded in the game, plenty of used copies on the shelves. It didn't have the staying power of BG3, thats for sure.

His response is very telling and obviously he only paid attention to the early hand picked cherry picked reviews. Because the response since release has been extremely mixed and unimpressive. I love the fact he thinks it has legs, but plenty of used copies they won't see a penny from.

Thought this was interesting from the full interview:

As for what the next iteration becomes, what that looks like, what style of game that is: well as I said, it's a franchise of reinvention. In some ways there are some parallels in that regard, to say, the Final Fantasy series. Of course, very different in terms of choice and consequences, and so many other factors, but there are those RPG franchises that embrace that reinvention, that when a new one gets announced, it really piques your curiosity about where are we going to go? What kind of adventure is this going to be? So again, I will remain of the point of view that it [Dragon Age's ability to reinvent itself] remains our greatest challenge and our greatest opportunity.

They're definitely going to detransition Dragon Age if it gets another sequel. The gender woo shit absolutely backfired and now they're going to walk it back.

This studio is just Bioware by name, they aren't the same studio that made KOTOR.

Well, not that I'm really happy about it, but I've seen EA killing studios left and right. Their time will come soon if they continue to produce those games that generate "pride" instead of sales.
