Dear lord. This is 10 standard deviations below bad YA novel writing.

Timecoded video:

Might be an unpopular opinion but I kinda enjoy this kind of schlocky writing in the way I enjoy shitty b-movies. It helps if the characters are actually likeable in the first place though.

RLM has conditioned me to laugh at and enjoy shittiness more and more over the years. I ain't buying the game though.

The game is like the epitome of written by and made for Gen Z only

Dragon Age presented by Netflix
Gen Z males will hate it, its made for women, who usually dont buy AAA games at launch, lets see how sales gonna go in a month or two, lets see if EA brags about actual sales or number of miles walked/dialogues clicked and if we get "didnt meet sales expectations" announcement again like with all that woke trash games :D

HAHAHA, if anyone wants a cheap laugh skip to 27.30.

This industry is absolutely rammed with a bunch of man children who couldn't hold a real conversation, let alone write one.
I just don't get where these reviews are coming from. That is some of the most cringe worthy dialogue I have heard, read by the most awful voice actors. I have truly been spoilt by BG3, where most of the dialogue is interesting and brilliantly delivered.

Sometimes I think people will just lap up any old shit.

It seems out of touch and unappealing in the same way the Saints Row reboot was. Cringe writing, unlikeable characters, and bad gameplay. I can generally take the good with the bad, but there are no redeeming qualities here.

Didn’t they go the FF16 route with this and remove party members? You only get to control the MC right?

Haven’t kept up with it at all, but that alone makes it a pass for me.
You can no longer control your companions. You can issue commands to your companions, there are three ability slots for each of them - and they share the same cooldown, like what the actual fuck BioWare.

Yeah, some of these story/voice acting cilps in MattyPlays' video are HORRIBLE.

I don't even have expectations or bias because I've only briefly played Dragon Age / BioWare games, but I have to wonder how much of it is actually this bad.

The gameplay still looks fun.

Watching the Skill Up review at the moment, how on earth anyone can look at those wax Fortnite models and Marvel "well that just happened" writing and think they are good is beyond me. I dread to think what the next Mass Effect game will end up like.
