Someone has compilated the complete Taash story. Prepare for hard cringe. It was on Youtube but EA is striking it down.
Every character in this is a cardboard cutout of a sitcom character trope. If you just scrub through it in roughly 45 second chunks, it's just a playlist of stereotypical sitcom or TV drama characters. I look forward to the videos of how these people behave in those creepy sex lairs they showed a few weeks ago.

Alright here's a non-shitpost take about this. My biggest gripe as to what I'm seeing with this game isn't the LGBTQ stuff, hell Mass Effect had that, and the older Dragon Age games. The problem I have is that they completely butchered the Qunari's looks, or the fact that this is no longer a grimdark RPG, but a disney esque - Avengers filled adventure. Or better yet the trailers reminded me of the DND Movie that recently came out.

The whole non-binary schtick would would work if the NPC was androgynous, and couldn't decide which gender they like to be, so they dress up as both. Instead we get a yelling match between two NPCs who are family related.
We also get a whole apology guilt tripping which screams California writer, once again the problem isn't there's an apology for something, the problem is it's a two minute rant about dead naming and pronouning. This could have been handled better, but instead it's a lecture.
The Necromancer reminds me of Vincent Price, which it is what it is, but them making Blood Magic be a no go for Player Characters and in the story general is just meh.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with the anti-woke youtube crowd (cause I dislike Grummz and those grifters), but sometimes people don't want to be lectured or reminded of Modern Politics, or just make it subtle and something different with verbiage so doesn't remind you off that.
Like instead of saying Non-Binary the character could have said, "I am of two halves", or "I shape myself however I want to" ... anything, but saying Non-Binary in a fantasy world is just dumb

You know its grifting when a trans person also says its BS.

Please please please tell me this game is gonna bomb. I just saw some footage, and everything I've seen shows me that this game should go right in the dumpster fire with Concord and every other game that's come out that's wack as shit.
It is made specifically for the purple forums and they don't buy games.

Imagine thinking this shit belongs in a videogame
Are you aware that video games are made by artists in progressive cities like San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, and Montreal?

Have you ever met an artist? Like art was their job? Have you ever lived in a big city?

Like, its art, it's not for you, it's made for whomever. Like a song or a painting.

Are you upset that someone in the room you are in is gay or trans? Walk into the country bar next door. The same thing applies here.

Remember the video of a bald youtuber got mad about pronouns in game?remember everyone dissed him having childish metldown?

Yeahhh now everyone can relate how he feels
I always liked that guy. He's a laugh. He didn't breakdown like that over just the pronoun slider in starfield. That's how the story was covered though.

But yeah he was/is right. He already made one 10 minute video on this game last i checked.

Well today's the magical release day. 3am in the UK currently, just woke up for the day. Ugh.

Still at least I'm not a story writer for vanguard I suppose!

I hope you never own a gaming business. You'd concord it right up.

Which is fine. Artistic freedom and all that. What's funny is when said artists resort to shaming tactics and emotional manipulation when you don't financially support their "art".

The game's art is not what is being discussed.
This conversation is way over your head. We are not talking about the games art. The game is art. Like a movie, song, or painting. Games are an art form made by artists.

I hope you never own a gaming business. You'd concord it right up.

You wouldn't last past your 90 days if you got a AAA studio to hire you as an intern.

You are talking about a small handful of obnoxious people. Vocal minority. EA isn't doing anything to you here in this case.

Those EA employees represent the product. The fact that they can attack the potential customers freely without discipline or termination shows that EA is in agreement with their behavior.

I just found out that the german localisation apparently uses the most aggressive form of gender language ever in a video game.

this will absolutely not go over well. if you think they/them is cringe, you have absolutely no idea. german gender language is literally cancer that kills readability and makes your skin crawl, as it goes against basically anything the German language was build upon until now.

Bavaria banned its use in schools and administrative bodies as well btw. and I hope other parts of germany will eventually follow tbh.

In neogaf cares when there's a non binary character...even half of my twitter home there's people posting about

The problem is that non-binary/trans topics usually isn't a live and let live situation cause they go after children.
They're sexualizing minors and convincing some to castrate themselves. There is no gender affirming care, just castration with no future procreation. It's actually pretty Satanic if you think about it.

Call it art if you want. What does that have to do with this thread?
Too many replies not my job to get you up to speed.

ehhh the people this game is catering to is literally the most vocal minority on Earth.

If that upsets you don't play it. There's too many games out there to get upset that one isn't for you. My entire point is, if you are upset that there's inclusion of minority groups here (as you agree yourself) it's not for you.

I actually love how this has become group therapy for some.

I wanted to point out that I chimed in when someone said, "this shit doesn't belong in games." Like they are the arbiter of every single game. That's not cool.

My two best friends in college were gay. Gay doesn't mean sexualize children and castrate them with child molester sterilization drugs.

You need to pick up the phone and give them a call, and talk to them about this. I also think you should try to enjoy games more, you are going to struggle.

Big "I have gay friends so it's totally not hateful when I equate trans people with child molesters" vibes.

Maybe try making friends with trans people, they're just people, they like games too, and they like having games where they are represented. This game seems a little cringey, probably even to trans people, but not worse than the decades of interchangeable dudebro space marines.
