Well it's not surprising.
They are trying to clean up something very old. I wouldn't expect drastic improvements.
It'll get better during the android saga. In DBZ the android saga made drastic drawing improvements. Depending on the team.
I hate that other awful drawing team though, so ugly.

They are redoing soundtrack and re doing voices, why not reanimating.
I got to admit it's way more better then the original so far.

The use of music is much better in DBK.
That's what I think is most important in an anime.

So, Kind of unrelated but I know the Funi transfer is different from this but what about their movies on blu ray? Amazon is having a 50% off dragon ball funi items and I can get the bojack/super android double feature for 17 bucks..I'm tempted but I was wondering how the transfer was?

There were some really weird transitions during episode two, I'd say (that pear Raditz was holding, for example).

In all honesty, I'm not too upset that they didn't just re-animate the whole thing. I was never a fan of Toriyama's modern style. It's too angular and has less charm, if you ask me. If they had done the entire show with animation like seen in the opening, it would have been cool, if only to see something new.
But I wouldn't have preferred it to the original.

Is it just me or does the second episode looks a lot better than the first one?
Saw the first episode. I thought they were actually gonna re-animate the whole thing, not just try and clean it up (it looks a bit odd). However, it's not that bad because I don't like the art style they used for the opening. I really like how the first few seasons of DBZ looked (design wise anyway).
As stated, some of the editing seems a bit jarring, but at the same time I'd easily prefer this to the original. And finally, I prefer the new music they've been using. There wasn't really anything wrong with the original music by itself, but it really really REALLY wasn't fitting ofthe show. *dodges brick*

I doubt they can do much with the original frames since they were drawn a long time ago, unless they go over the lines again or something which may cost too much.

After giving Kai 3 episodes to prove itself, I've officially decided to stop watching and from here on out I will ignore its' existence.
The censorship is now just as bad as the old school Ocean dubs back in the late 90's.

Yikes @ the censorship. Not even taking that into account, I thought episode 2 was terrible. They performed so many artificial pans, zooms, and nasty unnecessary edits to the original material, seemingly to make it more XXXTREME or maybe just for the sake of making changes.
The people working on this project are fucking morons. Done with DB Kai as well. What a waste of a good opportunity.
