If this is only 6 months after the end of DBZ Gohan should still be FAR stronger than Goku, Vegeta, or Gotenks.

BotG was supposed to be years after that, right?

Of course he should.

He won't.

So Jump had the title of the second episode up:
Onward to the Promised Resort! Vegeta Goes on a Family Trip?!

I really can't wait to see this.

Haha what

This sounds great.

The episode description:

The Prince of the Saiyans Vegeta’s Family Time!
Vegeta goes out with Bulma and Trunks to a resort area! Bulma and Trunks are very happy with this unexpected family time together! But even as he’s doing this, Vegeta is bothered that Goku is off training?!

Goku This Week
Training on Planet Kaiō!
Training under the 10 times gravity on Planet Kaiō is perfect! In spite of the nuisance to Kaiō, Goku starts his training, but what is his surprising training method?!

This is exactly what I want

First five episodes are going to be full of delicious filler, and then the movies, hopefully with more filler until the main plot starts,

OK, I'm freaking out now. This sounds great.

It's almost here!! I'm way to excited about this for someone my age. Also partially filled with dread as to what indignities Toriyama and co. will subject Gohan to. After his treatment in Revival of F, him simply fading away to background character status might be the best possible outcome. No one deserves to see their favorite character become a Yamcha. At least that second episode sounds like it will be amazing. There's so much fantastic comedic material that can be mined from a Briefs' vacation and family man Vegeta. If Super is just a slice of life show with occasional fighting, I'll be extremely happy.

Because I was bored and because I'm a crazy person here are a bunch of avatars, quote me if you take one so I can remove it from the album.

I don't know why people hate the idea of Gohan being weaker than the others because he stopped training. That's generally what happens to anyone when they stop training, they lose their overall strength. It makes perfect sense to me why Gohan wouldn't be stronger than Goku or Vegeta months later since they continue to train all the time while he decides to stop and focus on his studies.

We don't hate the idea of Gohan being weaker. We hate the idea that Gohan has to keep getting humiliated in fights. "Focusing on his studies" is just backstory. The reality is that he shows up when there's a new battle just like all the real fighters.

Also, Master Roshi is weak as fuck but doesn't get humiliated. He even gets to shine in RoF.

Does that really happen to Gohan, though? I don't understand exactly where that idea would come from.

I love the moments where Vegeta shows he actually gives a crap about his family (hugging Trunks before blowing himself up to stop Buu, going completely nuts on Beerus after Beerus slaps Bulma). I don't care if they're redoing the movie as story arcs, I'll gladly take dumb yet endearing filler eps.

It also felt like Toriyama was making Bulma a more important character in the movies as well, when she was just background fodder after Namek.

I don't know about that. I mean, I guess she wasn't super important in the Android/Cell Saga, but she was the first to recognize Dr. Gero and rebuilt 16, so I don't think she was any more or less important than she was during the Namek saga.

Dragonball is as its best when they're forced to do normal shit.

I'm liking the sound of the Vegeta thing. Anything showing him with his family makes me happy because it's actual growth for the character

Pretty much. it's ridiculous that Gohan would become very weak when he's trained for most of his life up until he was an adult and even then he's still fighting and can turn SSJ. I mean, it acts like Gohan hasn't fought for 20 years when obviously that's not the case.

Oh my God, I didn't know this series was going to start so soon. Subscribed!

And now I have to watch both movies. Now my weekend is set.
Praise Mexico's obsession with all things Dragon Ball. I can still watch the Freezer movie in cinemas :)

I mean, I don't understand, what's ridiculous about it? Even if it's not 20 years, and like 6 months or whatever. That's still 6 months of no training. If most athletes didn't train for that amount of time, they would be pretty weak even if they still retained some degree of strength of previous extensive training. I know, DB isn't the most realistic series or anything, but I don't know, it just seems like common sense really. You don't train, you don't retain all your power.

I was secretly hoping we'd get some Driving School tier stuff out of Super

Didn't think it'd actually potentially happen
