I like the game. I love the show. So I can't be as objective as I'd like to be, but I'm critical. I like the gameplay, I miss "important characters", I love the coop and customization. It can be addictive to just farm or put a decent combination of characters together to form a team. Too bad online lobbies don't work most of the time. I really feel like Namco pulled it off quite well and they didn't expect this game to actually be this successful. To be honest I can just get lost doing quests over and over again. In short this game is fun. Yeah has it's flaws, but which game doesn't.
I loved the show back in the late 90s into the early 00s and haven't followed it too much since then...I can't get enough, plays great and feels good with all of the nostalgia.
It definitely has room for improvement, but it feels like an additional DBZ saga, while you are still involved in the original sagas that you're familiar with, really well done in that regard.

oh god, how many times must i replay the same god damn mission till "I'm the strongest on earth!!" drops. doesn't help i keep fucking getting disconected after ever 1-2 attempts
I just disconnect my PS4 from PSN when I go to play Xenoverse and just bypass that issue. But yeah, the drop rates in this game need to be increased.

yes they do need to increase the drop rate of items, this is worse the destiny -_-
As far as I can tell it is doing great on ps4. As for Xbox one... I don't know since I only hear of a few people coming from there
Man fuck the Potara Warrior Parallel quest. Super Buu takes way too much damage from even the simplest combos, so it's incredibly difficult to keep him at above 50% to get Super Vegito to show up. I don't even think I'll end up using Split Finger Shot, but I just want to try it out at least.

Trying to grab Super Electric Strike and can't, for the life or me, get better than a B on the PQ. Even if Vegeta and Piccolo survive with nearly full health and I dispatch the Droids quickly, it gives me a friggin B.
It also reminded me why I hated Piccolo on the show. Dude makes a grand entrance, says something tough, only to be slaughtered in seconds.

Poor voice direction. A lot of it reads like they were given lines with no context, and sent them in remotely.
If you watch the english dub of Battle of the Gods, you'll see what all those same VA's are capable of with great direction.
I also think they just literally translated some of the Japanese instead of trying to use a fitting English translation. Some of the Japanese to English loses it's meaning and ends up sounding awkward. Like the famous Dragon Ball farming quest where Guldo says "What the heck?" instead of "Shouganai wa ne" in the Japanese voices just doesn't sound right.
Death ball has to be the most annoying skill drop to try and get. No matter how many times I do the damn mission it never drops. I've looked all over on how to get it from killing frieza first to leaving him last.
When I get home from work and try it again, I will probably still not get it.

Is Death Ball good? I've had it for a few days but haven't tried it.
Well, it has high damage, moves fast, tracks the enemy and can be easily spammed as a ssj.
That depends. The new Crota raid is quite generous. But at launch. Vault of Glass was awful. Many of us were stuck at level 29. But even still, game doesn't drop green armor for crap which is needed to level up armor
I tried it yesterday, but found the damage lacking compared to Perfect Kamehameha. I just got Assault Rain recently and it seems as spammable as Deathball, but with the damage of Perfect Kamehameha and has great tracking as well. Maybe I just need to get Frieza's Z-Soul that increases his skills (if there is one) to see a notable damage increase in Death Ball, but I haven't had luck finding him. I was having trouble with the Potara Warrior quest, now I'm easily able to keep Super Buu alive and get a shot at Super Vegito with it.

Don't know if you can cancel your combos, but the best advice I was given by a fellow gaffer was that you should use your own ultimate evasion move to counter theirs, couple that with the "rise to action" ability (I think that is what it is called, "Slap your cheeks to gain stamina") has really improved my fights so far...not sure how effective it is later, I only just finished the Frieza saga.
I don't remember which combo specifically, but there's one you can guard cancel to reset it. There's also combos you can extend by using certain supers. I'm at the end game, and I'm still using Rise to Action as well as countering Ultimate Evasions with my I own.
I recently also discovered you can cancel the damage from the infamous Gohan and Goku Super Kamehameha spam with a well timed Ultimate Evasion (at least with the Evasion Skill, Spirit Explosion, that I'm currently using)I saw my favorite twitch streamer get destroyed by it in online battle. I am glad that overpowered crap is rare!
Unless he's just no good in dealing with that sort of spam from a SSJ2

It's pretty dumb how good it is. Relatively fast windup time. Tons of invincibility frames. Homing. Can lock you into a stun like effect. Chainable.
U don't need a high grade for it to drop. I got it dropped with also a B grade.
Btw, some more pics. Also finished the story finally. Took me like 30 hours. Now I need to figure out which supers and ultimates are great to use, so I can farm those. I'm so sad we can only use 2 ultimates, since 1 of them is a transformation. Gimme LT + RT + A! D:

Welp, I'm sold. Will try it tonight. Final Flash is getting old anyway, and it'll give me an excuse to take a break from Vegeta's Z-soul .
U don't need a high grade for it to drop. I got it dropped with also a B grade.

Heh, while that's good to know, running it 10 times gave me like 5 pairs of Android clothes.

Lol at doing online PVP in games like this and Destiny.
I noticed that Majins seemed tankier than most other races. All the more reason to make a short, butterball alt now. Should have spammed more Candy Beam for fun.
man the SSJ in that vid has a full Ki bar and not spamming ultimates
I would've went SSJ2 and spammed some blasts. With majin high def I can see them struggling off melee attacks

been redoing the same PQ over and over again to get this z soul drop and it wont bloody drop :/
of course it's going to look like they're impossible to kill when you do nothing but slap them across the wrist
There truly is some OP setups in this game. The health regen Z-Soul is great against the CPU, but online, equipped with a Majin? Rage inducing.
Majins specialise in HP. One particular fight during the Buu Saga took me at least 10 minutes to clear because they take damage like its nothing.

Basically. There is a lot more to the battle system than charging up and spamming Ki attacks. Sure, that works in PvE, but you are going to have to up your game for PvP. Many people never even touch the utility abilities. Many of which will save your ass.

I want to pick up this game but I was hoping it would go on sale soon. I don't think it's worth 60 dollars to be honest. But I love the anime and games when I was little and the thought of making a Black Saiyan is amazing.

The person fighting the Majin in that video barely made any kind of attempt to actually hurt that Majin.
