I think the reason is more like 98% of tunes are from Dragon Quests (1 - 9) so that OST is everywhere in youtube. The usage of old tunes everywhere makes you smile if you can remember where they came from.
This game is a year old. If they didn't patch it before the western release and/or for Japan I wouldn't hold my breath for Square to patch this for us.
So whats the general Gaf consensus, quick vs slick controls... I went with slick and not overwhelmed. Its a pretty simple control scheme.
Loving this game, these guys are talented, i wish they could make a new ip from scratch to see what they come up with

Nobody tried to see if drops are picked automatically at the end of each stages?
I remember finding this super late in other games that would otherwise made the game more enjoyable.
Thanks in advance.
The code for the downloadable items doesn't work...
Who would I contact about that, amazon who sold it to me or square enix?
why not both, see who answers first? The code for the downloadable items doesn't work...

Wtf? I have the same problem. My code won't redeem in the PS store.
Also, I'm not liking how the block works. Way too much of a delay when you're moving.
As someone else suggested, I updated the OP to add more color.

Most games that come with codes don't work on launch day until AFTER the psn store updates are done.
No problem.
Nah, it ain't like that. SW is a beat'em up game more focused on doing straight missions and then being done with it. DQ is more about placement of your character, because you can lose the mission by just randomly throwing shit down.
Content wise, there's a lot more. You fight in the fields, against bosses, or tower defense, all while upgrading your character with new equipment and skills. Levels have different forms of interactivity.
No this is basically a full fledged rpg. Big epic story, world map etc... Crafting.
Oh, wow. I can't believe I haven't noticed that until now.
Makes sense though, my games never arrive this early.
How easy is the Platinum for this? Anybody have it?
I have the japanese one, everything's relatively easy but the small medals grind at the end to get all the weapons can be really a boring chore.
Booted game up just to test disc, cant play until tonight.
Nostalgia feels at the title music...
Estimated time to complete that on hand?
Seems fairly simple from what I can see, that seems to be the only grind..
do you have to pick up enemy drops? Like physically run over them?
Edit: also, are there costumes outside of the square store preorder ones?
Ordered a copy mostly to support the series because I really don't have the time to play right now, but it sure does look amazing.
Hope it does well in the West though, a bit worried about that.
Aside from the inconsistent framerate, man, I'm absolutely loving this game so far. The music too. Good god.
