I looked through the first few pages but could not find any kind of consensus - can you guys help?
Should I buy this on PS3 or 360?
Depends on how bad you can tolerate tearing. 360 tears but has better framerate. PS3 has no tearing.
Personally, the tearing on 360 for the original DD was too annoying so I re-bought and was happy with the PS3 version
On Xbox screen tearing: I set my Xbox output res to 720 and I haven't noticed any screen tearing
For guaranteed screen tearing, use a ferrystone. Happens approximately 100% of the time.On Xbox screen tearing: I set my Xbox output res to 720 and I haven't noticed any screen tearing
Here are my port stones marked on the map, I feel like they're pretty good places.
I don't think the map counts as spoilers but if anyone thinks otherwise let me know.
Keep the one at bluemoon. A BBI quest had you going back there.
Ouch, so far my leveling has been:
1-10 Mage
10-25 Mystic Knight
25-35 Sorcerer
Just switched to Ranger to have a bit of fun with that, and I'm really feeling my lack of physical strength. Even buying all the best gear I can from Caxton and upgrading it all to level 3 my bow feels like it does fuck all damage unless enchanted.
Quick question: I'm just at the point in the main story whereI'm supposed to go meet the duke. It clearly states that all taks will be wiped out, but does this include my notice board quests as well?
If you like Ranger, try the Magick Archer. The way you leveled up, it might be more fitting to use that vocation.
The notice board quests you already have will be fine. However, some escort quests will be gone.
If anyone is still interested, I'm finally out of the boring prologue section in my Let's Play, so now things actually have a chance of killing me and it's fun again.

can a pawns gear still be DFed? i don't think it happened to mine since the expansion. my gear gets DFed all the time.
Stop worrying about stat growth. It means nothing.
I'm afraid to play Magick Archer because of the supposedly awful stat growth. I'm playing as Ranger to freshen things up a bit from the past 24 hours of gameplay as a magic user, but also to increase my strength for when I switch back to Mystic Knight eventually.
Nope. You have to equip it yourself and DF it that way.
was it always that way? guess i rememered wrong.
About 1/3.Just beat theon the BBI. Am I far in?Giant Eye
yup. In post game aKeep the one at bluemoon. A BBI quest had you going back there.
Yep. It's always kind of annoyed me. Forces you to fight drakes and whatnot with classes your arisen isn't trained in, unless you're the same class as your pawn.
Wow, really? I've been there only for about 2-3 hoursAbout 1/3.
it gets harder, don't worry . Seems like a lot of people struggled with the boss at the 2/3 markWow, really? I've been there only for about 2-3 hours
BBI is all about damage output. When you first show up with gear from Gransys, his big slow attacks with low damage output are a bad combo.Doesn't feel like BBI likes melee classes at all. Warrior especially is even more useless than before.

Once you get the best weapon for him, Warrior becomes a lot of fun on BBI. I completely destroy 3 Garm with my new sword.

Well it does matter a little. Since when you add Clout/Vehemence, Acuity/Attunement, you are adding 32% of your stat - the higher the base, the more the end number.
It bums me out looking at other people's pawns and seeing them barely edge mine out in STR, some beating me out in HP by a fat margin, and it's something I can never change/correct.
Just bought this today for 360. Never played the original.
Is the screen tearing really bad or is it just in areas with lots of enemies?
You haven't noticed it, but it's still there.
everywhere when I played 360 version of the original DD, eg just looking around the starting village with no enemies
thats why I had to buy a PS3 copy and was happy to see no tearing at all
someone mentioned 720p mode helps so you can try that
Loving this game, can't believe I waited until the Dark Arisen rerelease to pick it up.
Got a question: I somehow lost my void keyon BBI, was in the giant chained Cyclops room, (Midnight Helix) fought my way up past the sorcerers & the gargoyle, and got the VOID KEY off of the corpse at the top. I was killed after an unsuccessful attempt to slay the chained giant.
I DID NOT drop it or sell it, it was just gone after I died a few times after having acquired it.
now I can't find it ANYWHERE in my inventory. I thought "ok, I have to go back and get it again", but it didn't re-spawn. Any ideas or is this a glitch & I'm fucked?
I didn't get any items from you, Burgerdog. I did get some RC from you though. I wonder if there is a cap to how many RCs you can receive from another player in one shot? I never receive over 250k from one person.
When I get home later, I'm going to knock out all the quests to see if anything changes with my drops.
Nah it means nothing. Those augments will raise your weapon's stats too, so when you're wielding a weapon with 800-1800 Strength/Magick then it really doesn't matter.
Min/maxing in this game is so pointless.
That's weird. If you died, everything should have reverted. Did you check your storage? If one of your pawns had the key and you released them, it will have gone back into storage. In the off chance you did discard the key, the black cat in gran soren should have it.

1 million is the limit, I think. I've gotten exactly 1,000,000 from two different people - completely even number received twice leads me to believe that's the limit.
I've found relatively small differences in Atk/Magic Atk to make a significant difference in BBI. Mileage may very. I don't think min-maxing is the way to go but I do notice a difference.
It seems to me like Death and Daimon2 have certain dmg thresholds you need to break to actually hurt them. Anyone with a forged lvl 2 weapon will break it though. I see so many compulsively OCD people creating this shared mania about stuff that's so damn irrelevant it baffles me. Seen people restart cause they gained a couple level in the "wrong" class, or won't switch to level 200 so they dont gain levels in the other classes because of stat growth. That's just unbelievably insane. This game DOESNT have PVP, why are people obsessed about 5% more damage output at the cost of making the game significantly less fun?! You can beat anything at level 200, you'll gain more power faster by getting good augs when you want them, than waiting to 200. If you want to play speed run mode competitively, by all means then min/max. Just completely dumb being obsessed that you hit a boss for 3720 instead of 3515.
What's a good magick archer skill setup for BBI? I played most of vanilla as one before I settled on sorc, but I can't remember much about them. I just want to switch things up for a little bit.
Also, are there more than six Moonbeam Gems lying around in BBI? I think that's all I could find. I've found like 14-15 of those stupid Macabre Statues (several in some hilariously devious places) and finally got that tablet I missed (up in the sorc/cursed dragon room), so I feel like there aren't many hiding spots left. Someone posted a diagram that said you can also get Moonbeams from one of daimon's chests...?
