You're missing the fact that hard mode is actually new game+... and even then, you're going to have to turn it back to normal mode at some point. The long goal is to play through the entire game on hard mode, including bitter black isle... and that's likely going to take many playthroughs to achieve.

That's insane! I've done so many quests and was able to dredge through but it's been teetering on the line between difficult and just plain stupid. Thank you for clarifying.

Sorry if this is been asked before but can anyone give me some tips as to where are good spots to place port crystals? Don't want to waste the few that I have.

You can pick your Portcrystal up and re-use it after you've placed it. Just throw it down wherever you think you'll be spending lots of time and pick it up when you are moving out until you get more. :)

no reason not to give a forgery of wyrmcrest ring to complete the quest correct? the ring seems much more useful to me as a magick archer than the cloak that I would get otherwise

Took Lilith, Kayla, Iris and Melisandre for a spin. They should have more white hairs now.

In fact, I think I actually blew up a giant poison undead with an exploding rivet and it sent Kayla over a bridge in the explosion.

Lol! Awesome. Kayla is mine. I'm not sweating rating at all. It's perfectly fine that she died. Thanks for taking her out and the gift! I'll check on it tonight when I get home. :)

It cancels anything and everything, even being hit animations. I think only grapples can't be reset.

Ahhh. I can start to see the use of that now. Makes more sense. I'll buy it and try to use it.

Is it just me, or do Mystic Knights essentially make Sorcerers obsolete? I never really spent enough time with them before, but what I played of them seemed kind of boring and that their claim to fame was the cannons. I used them, but I didn't realize then how utterly cheesy Ruinous Sigil underneath an elite (or boss) enemy with two cannons was. Holy shit. Sorcerers are fun to play, but I don't know if any of their spells can actually do as much damage in the same timeframe. Sorcerers seem more like better crowd control (not that cannon spam isn't crowd control) and MKs just destroy bosses better.

In case whoever is reading this doesn't know what that combo does: the Sigil activates whenever something comes into contact with it. On up to meidum sized enemies it will damage and send them skyward. While under a large enemy that can't be bounced away with it, it activates two or three times a second. The cannons can be activated by melee attacks, and some other abilities that pawns can do when close by and the Sigil procs. It turns the cannons into gatling guns that spray a ton of orbs per second.

Well pretty sure I've run into a bug of some sort (or I could be blind and just not seeing them). Anyways, got my Gold Idol, made a dupe but them in storage along with the others. I saved then quit the game, came back into the game...all of my idols are nowhere to be found? Not on my person, pawn, or in storage?

Thanks, Lilith is mine, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

Level 22 noob questions.

- Where can I find some god damn port crystals? I only found 1. I can't help but feel that the eternal ferrystone broke some of the intended design of the game, but there's still a ton of walking... I think I would have been pretty fed up with walking back to gran soren by now if I didn't have the eternal stone.

- How do I rent my pawn out, does this happen passively/automatically?

- Should I wait until I get my last vocation rank as a mage to switch vocations? Thinking of going mystic knight or sorcerer next.

you will get more crystals as you progress in the story, they are usually in big story points. I have 4 now, theres only 5 anyway as far as I know (in a new game at least)

you need to rest at a inn for your pawn to update and be "rentable"

no reason not to give a forgery of wyrmcrest ring to complete the quest correct? the ring seems much more useful to me as a magick archer than the cloak that I would get otherwise

lol I remember doing that...and well.....something funny happens.
A Wyrmking's Ring Forgery can be obtained from Montebank at the Black Cat in Gran Soren for 99,990 Gold if the original is held - it looks the same, but has none of the magic properties of the original.
The Wyrmking's Ring cannot be equipped, but will grant the shorter spellcasting effect to whichever character carries the ring in their inventory.
Stacks with the Sorcerer Augment Articulacy to reduce spellcasting time by 32,3%.

The ring also unlocks a special chest in the treasury, in the Duke's Demesne - as witnessed in the quest Reward and Responsibility.

The king will try to unlock the chest but the ring wont be able to unlock the chest (cuz it's fake) lol...so the king will just stand there.

I ended up keeping the ring and stole the paladins mantle (it's inside that chest the king tries to open) but you have to wait for the knight guarding the treasury to step out to use the restroom.

Quick question. If I change vocations and later change back do you start at 1 again or do you come back as 10 if you were 10 before the change?

Holy crap. Pawn finally got hired by someone and I got 30k RCs. And here I was crawling through Bitterblack trying to scrape together 5200 at a time to identify some weapons.

I progressed a little further and got absolutely wrecked by a
Beholder
. Guessing that's the first 'boss'. Anyways, everything it was doing was one shotting me and I barely managed to dent it. Guess I'll return when I'm not level 40.

I've been using your pawn the whole time. Lol. Killed Daimon twice and Death twice. For whatever reason it wasn't going through.

I'm actually going to smash out some BBI runs in 30 minutes or so. I can take some pawn with me. Same username on Steam. theta11

Question to those who know how to use steamspy,
Is DD selling well, and are the numbers accurate now?
I've heard we had to wait a couple of days to see how well DD is selling?

I am interested in this game doing very well, any experts in sells can kinda let me know if the game is doing well? I really want a ps4 port, DD online to make to the west or at least a DD 2 to be made.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
This game must be incredible with high fps and draw distance. I'm a little jealous.

this game is soooo fucking good, too much fun

just realized by looking at some of the gfycats that I have unintentionally gimped myself through my entire run of this game(luckily I'm not that far in the story just yet).
I thought you could only have two pawns as in one main pawn and one other pawn instead of having 3 pawns :/

Very strange, as I told you I did get a report back but it came with 0 RC and a rock. I want to send cool stuff out but not if it's still busted.

You have and you haven't: 3 pawns makes things a little easier, but 2 pawns gets you more XP.

It seems to be doing fine (>140k right now) but it's still increasing by 10-20k everyday so the figure isn't entirely accurate yet.

Sales seem fine to me but nothing particularly impressive. I doubt Capcom is going to greenlight DD2 based on these figures unless they already were planning on doing so. Doubt a port will make it's way to consoles.

I could see DD:O heading westward though.

"Arisen, go here for your next quest, its urgent!"

goes to place

"Arisen, you are urgently needed back in Grand Soren"

...whut >_>

edit: anyway, done all the sidequests up till now (I think), feels like im getting ready to "finish it", whatever that means looking at the quest progression in the wiki, and you guy's comments. Seems theres post game stuff, and also of course the dark arisen stuff. Im level 44, not sure if thats "enough" or not, oh well

Where can I get the rest of dragon forged weapons? I beat the dragon as a magic archer and the game only gave me MA's weapons(daggers and magic bow).

Question, where do I get the other Portcrystals?

I have 4 right now which are the ones one can get in the game, but I see that there could be up to 9 or 10. Are those on NG+ or can I get them earlier and how?

That's weird, I had the same thing happen to me and I was like, "Why would someone rent my pawn just long enough to send back a rock?" I was feeling all Charlie Brown about it.

Reward for the quest Winged Reaver in the Quest Pack: The Challenger.
Further copies can be purchased from Jonathan at The Encampment for Rift Crystals.
Quest Pack: The Challenger is a series of DLC quests available as downloadable content.
(This DLC is included with the purchase of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen)
I guess I ended up buying them for my pawn. It's been a while.

It depends how far you've played the game , but here's a look at some locations that are helpful
004500x426_zps381408a6.jpg
.

I only have 2 right now but I put one right in the middle of a healing spring, love going there to refill like 20 spring waters at once to spam during combat lol

Heard you can trade your ring to a friend, then buy another real ring for 66k and have your friend trade it back to you so that you can have 2 real rings at once

When killing any dragon there's a chance to dragonforge 1 or more items, though it depends on which dragon you kill and if your gear is enhanced or not.

- The Dragon (Grigori) and the online Ur-Dragon are the only guaranteed ways to DF any item, regardless of its enhancements.
- Offline Ur has a high % chance to DF 1 or more items but it's not guaranteed.
- Cursed Dragons and Dire Dragonkin on BBI have a high % chance no matter the enhancements.
- Regular Dragonkin found throughout the main game have a low % chance, even wiith 3* enhancements.

You have the best chance to get something DF'd by having the item already at 3* and it must be equipped to your Arisen, it can't be in your inventory or on your pawn -- so if you want to DF gear for the opposite gender, you have to switch genders and equip the appropriate item.

I mistook dragon forged with Grigori's weapons.

I meant weapons like Dragon's vein(dagger) and it is way way way stronger than the dragon forged weapons that I have right now.

does Grigori respawn so that I can farm those awesome weapons?

Ah, you only get those weapons when defeating Grigori. You can only fight him again in NG+.

Grigori gives vocation specific weapons whenever you beat him, but it also gives what you have equipped upon defeat. So you'd have to beat the game a minimum of 8 times to get all of those weapons:

- Fighter to get Sword/Shield.
- Strider to get Daggers/Bow.
- Warrior using sword to get Sword.
- Warrior using hammer to get Hammer.
- Ranger to get Long Bow.
- Sorcerer to get Archstaff.
- Mystic Knight using mace to get Mace/Magic Shield.
- Magick Archer using staff/bow to get Staff/Magic Bow.

With the right Port Crystal placements the game can be beaten in less than an hour, but even those special weapons will be quickly outclassed by what you can find/buy in BBI.

Can I play NG+ on easy mode or is it like the Souls games?

I already placed a crystal infront of Grigori's place. how many mandatory quests I need to do before fighting him again?

pleas tell me that BBI weapons aren't that expensive -__-

Difficulty doesn't do anything, your stuff is just globally saved.
And you can't buy BBI gear, it's all random drops/quest rewards.

Work is killing me today. I just want to go home and play. But family obligations will prevent that until 7 or so. Sigh.
