I was told that after killing the
giant eye boss
in BBI im nowhere near the end of BBI, is that correct? If so, how fucking big is that place / expansion, ive already done a ton

There are three wings and I believe that boss is at the end of the first wing. BBI also gets harder the second time through, a lot of things change.

Do lanterns on pawns do anything other than give them a glow? It seems like the arisen is the only one with an actual light output - if your lantern goes out, the area isn't lit up by your pawns... at least from what I've noticed.
Yeah lanterns on pawns are pointless lol, their light from the lantern doesn't help at all.

I love her stance when you put her down. She was like "WTF are you doing?!"

Gets choked by her zombie husband and then says you were there to rape her?

That part was obviously inspired by Berserk (Princess Charlotte, Griffith and the King of Midland).

I don't remember one playthrough of BBI being that long, but I don't think that boss is near the end, perhaps half way through?

I spammed the living shit outta this Vortex/Ruinous combo when I was playing on consoles. This combo is a stun locking room cleaner.

Man, no game in existence even comes close to this game's combo and magic.

Playing this game has got me pumped and hopefully for the online version to hit the western lands.

the game just know who you really love

Really? I have to go out of my way to reduce Aelinore's affinity all the time
by punching her of course xD
. If you do the side-quests, she'll just fall in love and glow pink and chime no matter what. Ugh, stupid duchess. She's so vapid too.

I know the game felt my desperation at not getting someone like Fournival again
I hate that every time I go into my house to greet Selene I have to see Valmiro's destined for the brine face

It has its uses, but generally Ruinous + Cannon is a lot more versatile. If you have time, I guess you could try all three, although it kind of seems like overkill unless you're fighting one large enemy with a bunch of smaller foes at the same time.

I hope so. Even if DDO has barely scratches the main combat system, it would still be much better than everything else.

Anyone have a link to a guide that has a detailed list of quests and in which order they should be done? only important ones, especially ones that can be forfeit for moving forward with the game.

Thanks.

Question about Hillfigure Knoll, I didn't finish off the quest for the pawn guild, as far as quests go I just got to Gran Soren, however I went exploring and came upon this place, I had a cut-scene there, did I move the game forward and missed out on some quests even though I didn't touch any quests in Gran Soren?

If / when I replay this it will be mystic knight. The hybrids were the most interesting classes reading up on it and magick archer didnt disapoint

This game is incredible, the animations and the way the hits land are just so satisfying. I'm still learning the ropes but it's been a blast so far.

Quick question for you guys, is it okay to sell the stuff given to me in the first inn I go to, like the eyepiece and Jester's hat? They have (DL) after them so I assume they are DLC items? The eyepiece is worth 300,000 Dragon Bucks™ so I'm tempted to part with it.

Hawkian

The Cryptarch's Bane
Is there any kind of "wait" mechanic? The inn just gives you morning or night time, there's nothing for smaller increments? So much seems dependent on time of day.

Also, how tiny does a person have to be to use the little passageways? Can I send a pawn through them? The entire idea of that mechanic/feature and its relationship to the character creator blindsided me. So many little surprises in this game.

Time for some random cool shit you may have not noticed:

Someone here mentioned that a Warrior can just bash the shit out of the mining nodes and pick up the ores from the ground instead of picking at them with pickaxes, making the process much faster. But a Sorcerer can do AoE mining! Some of the Sorc spells, mainly Bolide and Seism, have a powerful physical component to them. Those big-ass explosions do the same thing as Warriors weapons.

I seem to remember you could also repeat the feat by chucking an explosive barrel at the nodes.

just use a throwblast
it's a bit of a pain though because the blast can send the chunks flying all over the place

Bolide is also quite exploitable due to its range. There was a barred door in the Shadow Fort with a chest behind it that could only be reached via a goblin tunnel. But if you position yourself just right and aim through the tiny window, you can break the wooden bar and open the door.

which preset is that?
It's pics from the creator showing off the new and updated stuff hes working on, so technically it's just "default" ENB.

Hmmm...you just gave me an idea of something to try as Magic Archer.

So about this:

Have people actually had problems with swapping their saves out manually? At some point I'd love to have multiple characters that I could switch between when I wanted. Does manually doing that actually screw things up with your pawn?

I imagine the issue occurs when syncing back to the server and having your old pawn return while having a new pawn.

Boris being passionate about a game can mean wonderful things for it if its on PC.

The character skin looks so much better there.

Unfortunately, I do not know what they refer to but this gave me a chuckle. Where are the save files anyway? Are they just .xml files?

Steam\userdata\*some number*\367500\remote

And they can be extracted to be XML files with Sectus's Save Tool.

I just started the game 2 days ago and played a couple of hours (level 19 now).
I tried searching for this but I can't find an answer that fast:

Is there anyway to rest except from inns/camps? Because traveling to some of the locations for quests always takes a me quite a bit of time and I always get stuck in a place when it turns to night in the game.
But I've found that it's almost impossible to keep on traveling during night time because I just get my ass handed to me every time by more and harder enemy spawns during night time. I know this is part of the game and night time is supposed to be harder but now it just makes me have my party stand in the same spot while I go fix a drink/food while I wait for day time.

Am I missing something here because it almost feels like the game is punishing me for taking my time and exploring stuff on my way to a location.....

Night time really isn't that bad. Use a lantern and don't be afraid to use curative items if you need to. Some stuff only is doable and only appears at night.

Thanks, I'll give it a try, maybe it was my fault for doing one of the "escort" quests earlier on to a spot super far out into unexplored territory and getting my ass handed to me by undead armored knights during night time. (I was only level 10 at the time I think) and it soured me on the night-time mechanic...

Will try again the next time I play...

If youre doing all the quests including sidequests the game will pretty much lead to everywhere eventually, so I suggest juat focusing on one quest at a time, porting back to grand soren to rest until morning wtc if you don't want to deal with nighttime (like I didnt).

There is no portable campsite or anything if thats what you meant.

As if BBI wasn't bad enough now I've got
super ogres and big ass dogs with hella health bars
crashing the party
It's wonderful when you clear one of the larger rooms, then 2 or 3 Garm spawn and you kill them, then a Cursed Dragon spawns and you kill it, then Death pops in for a visit. :O

Only happened to me twice in many playthroughs but damn game, throw me a frickin' bone here!

Yeah that's what I was wondering, if there was a rest option or a portable campsite item or something.

Thanks for the answer anyway....

Took me about 30 minutes of wandering around picking every herb I could find until I thought, ya know maybe Moonglow is a plant that only shows up a night...

Also I take it Bitterblack Island is the land mass for the expansion, Dark Arisen and I shouldn't go there now? I keep getting notifications every time I enter a town about it.

Magick Archer has Magickal Flare which lights up a huge area (and as a bonus it damages the undead too)

Thats a great class to use when exploring at night

Go there once so that that stuff stops popping up, then leave.

Yes it is. No you shouldnt go there until yiu finish it. Im starting to get my ass handed to me at 55. Like i hear you can probably clear the first few enemies or the first zone or whatever, but whats the point? You cant even stone out of there, its completely seperate from the main game. I think its much better to do it at the end in 1 go, especially because the structure is so different from the vanilla game. Its almost like a different game (for the better in my opinion, by a lot in fact)

Thanks, I actually am an Magick Archer (hella lot of fun) but hadn't picked up that skill yet.
Will do asap, do you have any idea (from the top of your head) how long that light up effect lasts?

That early you absolutely shouldn't be messing around on BBI, yeah. You can go there once to get rid of the notifications, though. Talk to the lady on the pier at night and she'll take you to a safe location at the entrance to BBI you can just travel back to Cassardis from by talking to her.

You could suicide run for items if you want (there's a super useful ring you can get). Otherwise it's better left to level 40+ and you'd still be likely to get your ass kicked

It lasts about a minute or so (lasts longer when upgraded - up to 110 seconds)

I'm glad that it's so easy to switch between vocations, I'm having a blast playing around with Mystic Knight.
I wish they retained your equipment set, though. And maybe even offer just rolling with your currently equipped armour if it can be worn by the vocation you switched to because it's kind of a hassle having to re-equip stuff all the time. Not a huge problem but would've been a neat little thing to add in the second re-release of this game.
