My Arisen usually has red hair when I am a Sorcerer/Magick Archer.

Also, what is up with the game-breaking gear you start out with in this version of the game? I have yet to find an armor upgrade for my Fighter/Warrior pawn since the full set that has high possession resistance is so damn good. The other stuff is good for the Arisen too, and you can sell one item for 350k. This kind of shit is good for those who have already put a lot of hours into it on the consoles, but not for new players. It almost seems like I won't get any real upgrades until lvl 2 - 3 BBI armor.

reloaded the game over 20 times and Orla just won't give me a magic bow lv2

My tank pawn is only getting tankier

I didn't have Grigori's hammer to compare it I was asking so that i don't waste my time to get it.

You can't save scum cursed items. They are set in stone when your character is created.

Is there a mirror for the Into Free title theme mod? Nexus link is as dead as Capcoms rights the song.

For clarity's sake, Capcom does not own rights to the Into Free soundtrack.

It's piracy for someone to link you that mod if it includes the song. There are instructions on how to convert it for use in Audacity.

Buy the song on iTunes, it's $0.69.

Yep. Please support the artist.

Dark bishop is a level check, because everything after them is much harder.

I agree, I am level 42 and the pink dress you start with is better than any combo of gear i find. I changed to cooler looking worse gear though since I die in one hit anyways on hard.

I gave him the real one and gave the forgery to madeleine,
I assumed the forgery was an exact copy and i could benefit from both. Did i screw it up?

Depends who's inventory you wanted to expand. Only the real one will expand the store's stock but keeping the fake will still get you the discount.

My characters keep randomly glowing green now and I don't know why. I just started to notice it in the post-game but it might have coincided with these new pawns I got. I don't think this mage has a spell that's doing it, and nothing is appearing under my status conditions.

edit: srsly what is this

So I finally quit dragging my feet last night and
killed Grigori.
I tried like hell to get a certain person as my love interest, even spending way more time than it deserved on the Wiki on how to make it happen, and still I fucked it up somehow and ended up with
Reynard because I completed his quests last, I guess.
I guess my Arisen isn't against a little manlove. It's really inconsequential though and got a little chuckle out of me with how the cutscenes played out.

Now I'm in mostly uncharted territory with the game, as I never really started
BBI/Everfall
on PS3. I think I'm going to totally change gears from Magick Archer to Mystic Knight now though, just to spice it up a bit, since I never really played that class (or any fighter, really).

Swords and Maces - So far I noticed that Maces hit harder but are blunt type, and swords are lighter and slash type, any other considerations to take into account?

High anodyne(mage healing spell) has a healing effect that lasts even after stepping into its AOE. It causes a green glow.

Swords swing faster. Maces have greater knockback/down effect. Also, more things are weak to slashing than blunt damage.

That might be causing it, but 1. I'm not sure why I haven't noticed it before, since I've been using high anodyne mages for ages, and 2. it's happening while I'm walking around town with full HP.

edit: nm I guess it was the spell. There's a very slow regen effect that ticks up missing max HP. I don't know how I never noticed this before...

Do any classes learn a dedicated dodge ala trickster or table hopper?

I gravitated towards the strider class for the speed but having no dodge spoils the combat for me.

All yellow vocations learn a dodgeroll. Striders, Assassins, Rangers and Magic Archers. It's under Core Skills.

Level up strider more and you'll unlock dodge roll for every class that uses dual daggers. For other weapons, there are skills that have a dodge built in.

Leveling up Assassin right now, I can't wait. Though there is already a lot of mobility options, they are kind of specialized to certain situations.

Be sure to level as a Strider too. The Strider augments work very well with the Assassin (climbing on stuff and targeting weak points).

Pawn renting still doesn't work for me. I'm renting friends pawn and they are renting mine and they don't get the gifts I'm sending nor do I get any RC.

I've been reading about mages and now I'm curious, do you people use dedicated healers?

I always have a mage with me, that's why my main pawn is one. But some people swear they can get by with consumables alone.

Did my pawn just bring a Dragon's Rancor with her? What the hell just happened?
You can equip stuff to a hired pawn and they'll take it back with them. It's another way to send a gift.

LOL at this room with a

This might be pretty obvious for others, but I just noticed that you can deposit a whole tab by pressing the start button when hovering over it.
Gonna save me so much time when depositing materials.

I think the reduction in health limit should only apply to the player character since pawns don't auto consume curatives when their health is low so you've got pawns walking around with half health

So I'm level 25 now and have done a handful of quests. Can I visit BBI? Is BBI something for post-endgame players looking for a challenge? Or can I visit it now until I hit a wall, do main game stuff to level, and then come back until I hit the next wall?

You can visit, but you won't get very far.

I must be missing something as I don't think MK is all that great, though I only just unlocked magic cannon. I guess part of the problem is having mage/sorcerers who don't seem to want to use boons on me (they focus on my other pawns first...).

Yeah lanterns on pawns are pointless lol, their light from the lantern doesn't help at all.

Sure it does, play a ranged/magic class and give your close range pawns (like fighters) a lantern and just aim where you pawn is.

Holy fuck Magic looks sick in Dragons Dogma might have to give Mystic Knight or Sorceress in my next playthrough.

Are you playing a min-max game? If not, you can just switch at any time.

Level 20, looking to rent some pawns. Anything but Strider/Assassin basically.

Pawns can't be Assassins... However, I have a level 14ish (I can't remember when I last slept at an in - she is 14 now) Ranger named Amelia.

Steam Name: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Draetenth

I'm working my way through the wyrm quests right now. Trying to level more. I'm 27 now. Way behind the average here I'm sure but I do what I can with my playtime. Enjoying the hell out of the game for sure.

Heh, I'm level 15 and haven't met up with Mercedes yet to deliver the Hydra head to Grand Soren. :p This is with 14 hours too. I'm taking my time doing every quest and exploring what I can (in the Dragon God altar right now).

Still in the really early game - level 14 and I just got destroyed by bandits on my way to Witchwood for the Lost and Found quest. Managed to take down a few of them in bits and pieces but in a large group their crazy hard (especially as a Strider, the warrior guys take me down in just a couple of hits). Advice?

Run or wait until night when they are replaced by wolves. IIRC from my time playing it on the PS3, I wan't comfortable beating those bandits until I was like 25+ and had Maelstrom as a Sorcerer (it was the fight and spell to make me love the vocation)

Ah pawns who are insistent on casting their spells 3 inches in front of giant bosses because reasons.

By any chance did they have the Scather Inclination? From experience, Scather makes pawns very aggressive and they will either just run up to a monster to attack or they will try to climb.

I feel so behind, I just started the Wyrm quest in Gran Soren lol...

Cheers, i'll dump his ass tonight when i get in.

You're still ahead of me! I've cleared the village of chests and done some fighting and exploring between encampment and Gran Soren but not entered the place :D

This weekend is going to be a session and a half!

You both are ahead of me, I haven't even started the hydra head escort quest. :p

I switched my support mage pawn to sorcerer in order to grab some augments. Since doing so I had only one rental in the few days I have had her as sorcerer. My question for you guys is this: if you're going to grab a sorc. pawn what primary, secondary skills, and inclinations are you looking for? I'm not really going to be able to play this weekend so I just switched her back to mage and changed her inclinations to give her a shot at getting rented. Still really enjoying the game a ton. So if you see a mid thirties mage named Morrigan take her out for test drive. :D

I look for Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator usually together and in that order in possible. Utlitarian makes mages/sorcerers work together more often for spell synching (faster casting) and target weakness a bit better (provided they know about their enemy). Challenger makes them go after ranged/spell casting foes first and Mitigator makes them target the weaker foes before the bigger ones.

I think the arsenal spells really makes Sorcerers suited for clearing the trash in battle.

I avoid Nexus/Guardians/Acquisitors like the plague. I don't want a Sorcerer who is either sticking to me like glue (bad since I'm melee and in the thick of things) or wasting time picking up items during battle instead of fighting.

I don't really like Scather either as my experience has been that those pawns either run up to foes to cast or try to climb the big ones. Not a good idea for squishy vocations.

As for spells, I prefer to get a pawn that has a spell for all occasions: fire (either High Ingle or Comestion - bolide takes too long imo if you don't have another bolide user for synchronize casting), lightning (High Fulmination - pawns seem to use it well), ice (high gicel - also used properly by pawns imo), high voidspell (so I don't get blindsided by petrification), and some sort of boon (holy or fire). I avoid the grand versions as they take too long (except may grand ingle).

Hi all,

My pawn is around 40, Sorc, with Util/Challenger inclination. Please hire her!

Steam ID# intergalactic_smuggler

I'm having trouble finding good mages/sorcerers. Do you mind if I add you even though I'm lower level (only 15, with a 14ish ranger pawn)?

I just tried to find you, but couldn't (get a message about the id doesn't exist or something).

With the rented pawns I choose my pawn is usually my only source of magic damage.

My latest pawn skill build:

High Comestion
Holy Affinity
High Miasma
High Malestorm
High Gicel
High Voidspell

I am level 60 on hard and encountered an
Elder Ogre
in BBI. After 20+ minutes I had it down with only one health square left. Then it 1-hit me.

Decided to drop High Miasma for some lightning. Goodbye High Miasma you killed many trash mobs.

I have this really weird problem right at the beginning of the game.
I left to collect the herbs (the first quest you get) and went back in and out to get the herbs at night. Since I left for the "night herbs"
I am unable to re-enter the first village - the game just gets stuck in the loading screen. I already did do the stuff you do at the
pawn camp
including
slaying the hydra. so my next main quest would be to present the hydra's head to some nobility dude for which the quest marker seems to point me to my home town.

Any help? Checking the game cache at the moment. Hope that helps.

Burn the save game file and start over Arisen.
That's what many of us did. at least you didn't get the inn keeper ^-^ my eternal shame.

Does someone in your party wear the Mistletoe Circlet (the thing with a unicorn horn shape)? It has the effect of slowly regenerating HP of nearby party members.

I think the reduction in health limit should only apply to the player character since pawns don't auto consume curatives when their health is low so you've got pawns walking around with half health
Pro-tip (especially for BBI): pawns regenerate HP rapidly around a Riftstone.
