Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

That one is easy though, the other one that spawns 7 living armours and 3 liches is just the worst.

That's cake for an MA. The three dragonkin are more annoying because you have to mount them to do the most damage, and they prevent you from mounting any of them.

But that's the problem, it might be cake for 1 of the 9 vocations, but not the rest, the drakes however can be done reasonably well with any vocation.

Is it true that 3-star ratings that are applied by default when a pawn dies don't actually count towards the average?

no, they definitely count, be kind to pawns.

Also the rating doesn't get updated until a checkpoint save, so just reload your last save if your pawns get murdered.

^ Unfortunate placement as the last post on the previous page.

It should be the same, let me try resting at an inn again, maybe it didn't save last time.

EDIT: Done, try it now.

EDIT2: Can see your pawn:

whoops

Sorry to the two Gaffers whose pawns died when the griffin in the tower destroyed part of the path lol

Speaking of which, the bandits and skeletons on the way to bluemoon tower were actually scarier than the griffin itself... Barely lasted 5 minutes for some reason.

did you know that there is alternate endings?
did you ever use godsbane wisely?

I know that I can do BBI again in a harder version. And I know there is a ending to vanilla which I havent seen yet because I havent done the 20 stone quest

and I havent used Godsbane no, I know you use it to kill yourself but nothing else

There's actually 5 endings to the main game.

Huh, now that I have a decent mage to properly buff my Arisen with Fire/Holy Boon, I can see why people like MK.

Finally made it to Grand Soren at level 17ish. Now to run between Cassardis and Grand Soren during the day and night to see what I encounter and raise my pawn's knowledge.

I had another two hires. Feels good (though one came back as three stars, but she learned about a new foe... Death so I think I know what happened...). I guess Amelia is doing fine as she has like a four star average in everything.

bbi+ is when The Real Dragon's Dogma begins
it does not pull punches

and then bbi++ is full on 'you are a dirt man now' mode

i actually forgot how insane bbi++ is

That does make sense. I found a pretty baller staff for my pawn so his magic is around 1500 or so. No bows or daggers yet.

Haven't actually found any BBI weapons that needed purifying. Should I just run from surprise encounters?
Generally if they are Elder Ogres/Death, if you don't have endgame weapons, you're gonna have a bad time. Plus Death will run away unless you consistently knock it down. All dragons can be dealt with but be aware that Cursed Dragons take even LESS damage than most other dragons if you aren't hitting it in the heart (though Cursed Dragons are also VERY weak to holy). You can also grind encounters by going to certain arena rooms that will continuously spawn boss monsters that should (eventually) give you some BBI weapons. To get these monsters to spawn, just exit and re-enter the room (may have to do it a few times). Each time will spawn something different, usually drakes, chimeras, or living armors. BBI weapons are the rarest of drops from enemies BUT fortunately they can be controlled to some degree based on your VOCATION when you purify them. See the below link for more info.

http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Purification

Chests can also give you BBI weaponry Level 1 & 2, so they're worth it until you've gotten something that will help with your damage output. Important to note that level 3 BBI weapons are not all that much more powerful (maybe 100 ATK/MATK more), thus making level 2 weapons a better choice to initially aim for because they're easier to find/farm.

Oh yes, you can also godsbane to change the drops of enemies if you're unhappy with what you get. This is usually best used on endgame bosses only as it's not all that much faster than just exiting/re-entering the room in cases of the arena farming.

Two quick questions:

- My main pawn is a fighter, with the vocation already maxed out, and I have the intention of using him as a tank. Would it be worth to change his vocation to warrior or should I stick with fighter?

- Where should I place portcrystals? I have one in the camp near the Shadow Fortress and have three in my inventory. I was thinking on some place to the north of Gran Soren for one of them.

Warrior, big health gains, most stagger/knockdown resistance.

this cursed gear is a interesting system. also the level 3 armor looks sweet,

ended up with new daggers, new lvl 3 chest, new arms for my magick archer, and new staff (actually 2 staffs, one for sorc one for mage) for my pawn, a lvl 3 robe and a cool looking witch hat. pretty neat.

I remember someone said it's better to not do any side stuff until a certain point in the main quest. Can someone refresh my memory?

Does Death replenish his health after defeating
Daimon for the first time
or something? I had knocked off two bars previously but I'm on my way
to fight Daimon a second time
and Death is at full health again.

Yes, that is the one time he is reset, since the whole BBI itself is refreshed
to Post-Daimon phase.

Man, this game has ruined elder scrolls for me i cant even enjoy that game any more. The combat of dragons dogma just...............geezus......just make every game played after it such a drag.

I was told he didnt. Damn it if thats the case :(

also, I want some kickass pawns, im talking end game, high level destryers. hit me people, I dont care about challenge anymore, now I want loot. I want to go in there again, and destroy those fucking mimics >_<

I have Noray's monster tank, I need a dps. A kickass warrior would be cool to synergize more with my explosive shots

thanks Dizzy for gitfing me a level 2 BBI cursed weapon

i don't even know what to do with it lol

i'll learn i swear
Talk to the lady at the entrance of BBI and she will identify the item. Keep in mind that you'll get a weapon to your class or your pawn. So, swap the classes to the ones you wanna get a weapon for before identifying.

Yeah I had a feeling that was it. Thanks for the confirmation. Guess I'll have to do some Death hunting soon.

IIRC, having higher level pawns actually decreases the amount of XP you earn so... not recommended.

Pawn: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY HOLD THE ADVANTAGE!!!!!!!11!!!!11!!!!!!

The pawns love to exaggerate sometimes. They love overkill as well. My personal favorite overkill is a High Maelstrom for a Dire wolf.

Silly pooch, just stood there growling at the party with myself and the two other pawns just chilling, waiting for it to spring forward. I assumed it would just end up on a sword as usual, but it just kept on growling and the Sorc got the spell off.

I never got why she chose Maelstrom when she had access to Bolide as well. I'm pretty sure she knew what (dire) wolves are weak to.

Doing the escort quest for the gold idol, how do you keep up with her without sprinting? I sprinted the first time and she fell and "bumped into me" but I was 5 feet away...

Alternate between normal movement and sprint? Its not all or nothing, ya know.

Argh, I'm terrible at the combat... Is the area with all the bandits on the way to the bandit hideout with the grimoire supposed to be a pain in the ass at level 17? I just feel like I'm underleveled for everything the game wants me to do at this point.

Run by them or go at night. They are oddly fierce. Its not how it really ends up flowing

You will happen upon tough things in the wilds but room enough to avoid them later

I could use some help

I'm having online issues, if the game is set to online and I try to load into my game from the main menu I get stuck at the "Accessing Server" screen forever. I have no idea what is going on because if I load into the game offline and then switch to online it seems to be able to access the servers, I'm not getting any error messages when resting at the inn at any rate.

Having to switch back and forth and sometimes forgetting and having to alt+f4 out of the game is getting old, especially since I don't know if anyone can see or rent my pawn. At least as far as I can tell no one has rented him (you get that info when resting at the inn if he's been released or died?). Granted he's nothing special but after almost a week one would think someone would've at least accidentally rented him and thrown him of a cliff or something.

So if someone could test it out It'd be appreciated

Pawn: Erheim lv70 Sorc Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator I think

Bought the game on 360 last year and thought it was amazing, then I heard talk about a PC version. Since I assumed it would be a better experience and I didn't want to have to replay too much of it I decided to wait for that instead. And other than the online problems it's been great, I'm glad I waited. Being able to import my 360 save and not having to replay everything again was a nice bonus as well (thanks Sectus). I just wish I'd have owned the eternal ferrystone on the 360, being without is manageable but somewhat bothersome, I keep forgetting to buy more...

Too bad they didn't add in some AO though, tried messing around with ENBs but the performance took too much of an hit, even if I only used it to deband. Using GeDoSaTo for debanding and AA works great though, and I can stay at a locked 60 which is very nice. Too bad you can't remove the vignette that way though.

But I'm starting to feel the age of my 680 :p

How are you not renting the best warrior in the game then?

mine >_>

I recommend Greatwall, Bluemoon Tower, and the camp near Shadow Fort. Hillfigure Knoll as well, perhaps.

Tis a troubling foe!

Romance/Spoilerish question:
I choose to romance mercedes, and basically before her duel quest she was blushing with the sound. Now I've finished the quest letting her fight and she had the pink aura around her. Did I made it? because now she has left.
Also, is the romance conclusion (whatever you choose) at the very end of the game or some pre-end part?
If I finish the main story can I continue with my character in the DLC content?

Yea, you shouldn't be sprinting throughout that entire quest, except maybe in the race at the end.
