Postgame spoilers

Tried to do the postgame clear skies glitch, but I messed up and killed the dragon on the bridge. Oh well. Will probably try it again next time and actually back my save up like you're supposed to.

Is there a mod to bring back clear skies postgame? I hate how gloomy it is - I know the world is a gloomy place in postgame but seriously I love the blue skies in this game lol.
Modders will fix it in the future, surely. In the meantime, congrats on your metal-ass skies.

Whelp... after over 105 hours of gameplay I just learned that HOLDING heavy attack causes it to do an added attack. I was wondering what the hell these abilities that said they added extra moves to heavy attacks meant.

I know you have to do a slight pause with light attack to do a different series of attacks.

Is there anything else I should know?

You can either throw explosives at or use a warrior heavy attack against an ore deposit to make it drop its ore reserve.

You can deposit all of a certain category of item (tools, materials, etc) by pressing start on the deposit screen.

If you're drenched, you can put the lantern away and take it out again to make it work instantly.

I haven't played as much as you, but I wish I knew these when I started.

Finally completed BBI. What a ride, it felt so refreshing, now its the time to build my Mystic knight, but first gotta learn the ways of magic :p

Oh and in the final fight i somehow fucked it up by letting all my pawns die ....so in the end i had to 1V1 him wich was actually kinda easy and cool.

1st loop or 2nd loop? BBI is a Ghosts 'n Goblins homage, you gotta beat it twice.

Don't let Lisa die, man :(

Seriously though, congrats on finishing it. It's a great bit of extra content and its design plays to the strengths of the game's systems. And now you can even redo it for more of a challenge.

Just in case: rusted weapons are broken.

It's probably obvious, but I 100%d this game on both consoles without ever using them...

Yeah, but it took all of those 140 blast arrows. I guess carrying them is what's a sinew-powered pawn is for, but still.

Yup, it is a pain carting around the ordinance, but when you have too much cash and 3 mules you use what you can to save time.

Yeah, i'm gonna do second loop soon, but it i need to train as a mage and sorcerer first since i need some traits for my mystic knight build.

First run was as warrior btw, tried it as a lvl 1 Mage in the 2nd loop but NOPE, takes too long now to end the fights with these spells

She..she just like to jump a lot...into the abyss :C

also on the note about suicidal pawns, there was this time i was fighting a giant skeleton, and as warrior i landed my Arc of Obliteration and the skeleton was launched into the deeps of BBI....it was then that i realized that one of my pawns decided to jump and grab it ....just to die like a miserable pile of secrets, i just burst out laughing for a couple of minutes BEST MOMENT EVER

Hah, her jumping actually saved her during the Daimon fight for me. When he did charging that move that pulls people into that energy vortex she bunnyhopped like crazy out of the area of effect. She was like "I'm gettin' outta here!"

Guess I should tweak her alignments a bit, though, and finally get her gear dragonforged which I've been putting off due to not having any magic vocation levelled.

I thought I was fucked when that giant wolf showed up while I was fighting a cockatrice, but then it got petrified XD

sometimes it's not always wise to climb shit.

That laugh at the end :>

So this is basically what happened earlier when I used Great Cannon. I'm guessing there was a miasma spell in effect and the cannon was so close to the Chimera that the cannon was able to let off a steady stream of bullets.
JointLeafyAcornbarnacle.gif

No Chimeras in sight...
And anything that procs a hit detection with a cannon within its field will also proc the cannon.

Well, damn. (Post duke meeting spoilers) ----->
I always look forward to getting Fornival thrown in jail, so I did the quest to get the gold idol before doing the gather evidence quest.. And did everything possible short of forgery to get a guilty verdict. And yet Fornival walks free. I know it's random chance, but it's supposed to be pretty slim in the first place... Oh well.

*sigh*

It's not random,
make sure to not deliver anything that proves his innocence and pay attention to whta your pawns say, if they tell you he's likely t walk then buy some items from Reynard that aid in that regard. Also don't forget the man in Cassardis that you can escort for another guilty testimony.

Higher tier spells have extra charges as do some Mystic Knight/Warrior skills.

^it has to have some semblance of randomness to it or its just glitched.
I delivered all the pro stuff and none of the condemnation stuff and all my pawns said he would get off and then the trial came and he was guilty

About the Fornival quest
I got the escort dude to Gran Soren for his innocence, gave Aldous 2 favorable testimonies, my pawns were saying he'll probably be free... And fucker still got to jail.

Reloaded the save... same happened. At his point I was like "fuck him then" and moved on.

For Fournival I got
that escort dude guy who testifies in his favour and those four affidavits that also portray him as not guilty and sure enough he was declared not guilty. Those were the only things I submitted. Didn't even need to get forgeries.

Could very well be, this port does have a number of bugs no present in the console versions. Wouldn't be surprised if this is another one.

All in all, just in case double down on your prefered outcome.

What do you mean double down? I used literally every possible piece of evidence for what I wanted and 0 for the one I didn't want.

The wiki mentions that you shouldn't even talk to the people that would testify against him/give an affidavit that would do so (which sounds like a rather dumb detail about that quest but there we go.) Could that maybe have thrown it off for you?

How many in game days required to respawn BBI bosses?

need bishop to dragonforge my goods ;)

Faster to just drop meat in the Moonwhatever tower (second room with all the gem slot doors). This will spawn a Cursed Dragon 100% of the time, and they'll usually be a second one if you leave the room and come back.

Don't you have to wait a few days between that too? Last time I did it I exited the tower and tried it again right after and no dragon showed up. So I rested at an inn for like four days after which the dragon actually showed up upon dropping bait.

Brandon F

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Dragon's Dogma 21:9 fix!!

Still in progress(Map screen needs tooling), and you will need to disable DOF in the Graphics Menu in-game to avoid cross-talk issues, but I can confirm that my Pawns are stabbing wolves in ultrawide glory.

I'll grab pics tmrw.

Awesome, might as well change to MK and try that almace strategy.

Yeah, but this way you get two fights (more if you're on the second loop because of the Fire/Thunder dragon), which means more DF chances.

I brought in 4 affidavits and a falsified one, fucker still was guilty somehow????? No idea how I was supposed to do that differently

How that works:
You need the character witness. He won't be acquitted otherwise with just that much evidence. Maybe if you handed in all eight possible affidavits in his favor he'll survive without the character witness, but I've never tested it.

Finally beat the
Ur Dragon
and beat the game for a second time. Can't wait to try Hard Mode and Speed Run Mode. Guess I'll try BBI from here.

Oh yeah. Has anyone else experienced this before?
During the third phase of the Seneschal fight, my goddamn Pawn would not grab him so I could stab him. I died twice and using the "Come" command seemed to get her attention. She was just running around like a moron.

Add me for a Level 71 Warrior if you'd like.

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
So I wanted to fight that
Wyvern flying around over Conquest Road
in post-game, but at some point its AI broke and it sorta flew away and it just hovered above the sea infinitely. lol

Who's pawn is Peep? She's useful, but that big wind aoe spell kind of makes it hard to see. :p

Hey Peep's mine. Yeah maybe I should swap out High Maelstrom. Seems pretty powerful but sometimes I actually can't tell if I'm blinded or standing inside that spell.

WTF @ the Forgotten Hall in Bitterblack isle. I don't know how some of you managed to finish the DLC at a relatively low level. I am currently level 90+ and these dogs are wrecking me. Does Hard Mode affect the Dark Arisen content?

Yeah, hard mode makes everything hit 2x harder and your stamina drain faster. You'll eat consumables like no tomorrow.

On the upside, normal enemy mobs happily drop large bags of gold, you level up and gain DCP twice as fast and gain 2x rift crystals from having pawns rented.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Damn it, I screwed up my NG+ cause I forgot to go back and talk to chief at the first town before advancing the story. I wish I had a damn checklist that just told me what to do in what order. I absolutely HATE missable crap in open world RPGs like this.

You mean something like this? And yeah it's bad, I'm not bothering with the Hero achievement. http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Side_Quest_Progression

Dammit. Lanrutcon was kind enough to give me level 3 BBI weapon but it turns out to be a ranger bow or sorcerer staff. No good for my assassin with mage pawn. :( went with the sorcerer staff in case I feel like making my mage pawn into a sorcerer.

Oh well. Going to have to earn it! Finally saw the Duke, starting on all those quests. Around level 35. Not moving fast but making steady progress.

So I hit a 100 and I was thinking, "Man, with how long that took, when the hell am I gonna hit 200?"

Bought 999 Demon's Periapts and a bunch of Pilgrim's Charms from old Fournival and started doing solo Daimon runs for a couple hours. I've got BBI gear coming out of my ears now. Called it quits at level 171 and I was still getting 4 levels per kill at that point. Might try out the last few levels with Ranger blast arrow shenanigans. I can't see how much faster it can be than what I was doing with my Sorcerer (Dark Arisen final boss spoiler) but if it is I wanna see.

Ogawa-san

I did that too. What sucks is that Pilgrim's Charm comes with prosperity too, which increases gold drops but also tends to replace regular drops by even more gold. So I ended up with lots of levels but not a lot of Daimon drops to upgrade lv3 stuff.

You could've changed to Red vocations, BBI weapons can be one of three, one for each vocation color, I believe. I did a bunch of testing yesterday and BBI gear would always come out the same for each color of vocation, ie. if I was all yellow vocations, I'd always get the Framae Blades from one particular level 3 weapon, and if I was red vocations it would always be Devilsbane. So it's predetermined, but there's one weapon in there for every color vocation.

I can't see how much faster it can be than what I was doing with my Sorcerer (Dark Arisen final boss spoiler) but if it is I wanna see.

wtf @ that gif. How do you do so much damage with a charged basic attack to him?

When do you find a portable port crystal?

From the wiki:

A Portcrystal can be found at the top of Bluemoon Tower during the Griffin's Bane or Wyrmking's Ring quests.

Four further Portcrystals were added in the Dark Arisen expansion - the first of which is found on the Flameservant's Throne in the The Everfall. In the cave of The Dragonforged at Hillfigure Knoll; inside one of the prison cells within The Shadow Fort; and just within the passage under the Witch's House leading into the second area of Witchwood.

Additionally, in New Game Plus, Portcrystals can be purchased from Montebank at the Black Cat in Gran Soren for 200,000 Gold

The one in the Everfall is most likely the first one you can get, but it's easily missable. You have to grab it BEFORE you interact with the throne (and triggering the appearance of the tentacles). It's the glowing crystal right on the throne so you have to be careful that you select it instead of the throne.
